Maryland's Danny O'Brien earns ACC rookie of the week honors
No surprise. QB Danny O'Brien has earned ACC rookie of the week honors for the fourth time.
From the ACC release:
ROOKIE – Danny O’Brien, Maryland, QB, r-Fr., 6-3, 215, Kernersville, N.C. (East Forsyth)
O’Brien led the Terps to a 42-23 come-from-behind win over Virginia. The redshirt freshman connected on 18 of his 28 passes for 289 yards, throwing two touchdowns and rushing for another one. He directed six scoring drives, which all resulted in touchdowns, was a perfect 6-for-6 in red-zone efficiency and hit on 10 of his 11 passes in the second half. O’Brien did most of his damage on third down, completing 8 of 12 passes for 152 yards and one score. O’Brien, who is 5-2 as a starter, ranks fourth in the ACC in passing efficiency (133.5) and fourth nationally among FBS freshmen.

This may speak to the comments you raised in this post, Eric, but why have there been so few posts about the Maryland Basketball Team? I know we have a huge football game on Saturday, but we play Pitt in the Garden on Friday night and there has been NOTHING. Not even a post about the Maine game. Is it too much to ask that we cover both sports on this blog?

petecard - just so u do not miss the game, it's Thursday night at 8PM - you mistakenly mentioned Friday - enjoy it, I think the guys will play a tough, contested game. I hope they get the petter of Pitt, but Pitt is tough stuff - we can take 'em though with a few breaks.
