'Post Sports Live': Previewing Maryland-Duke

By Matt Bonesteel

After starting the show with some Georgetown talk, Jonathan Forsythe, LaVar Arrington, Liz Clarke and Paul Tenorio chat about Maryland-Duke on this week's episode of "Post Sports Live." Fast forward to about the 5:15 mark for Terrapins talk.

The movie quote that comes to mind is from Hot Tub Time Machine. Yes, he is an @ss hole but he is our @ss hole. The drip claiming to be my buddy is a longterm close acquaintance at best this week who is facing a cruel truth. He went to a game at MSG this weekend which went horribly for his team with the team that most often has their number up next. Hence, he is posting here to get a rise out of the board. Truth be told, Barno welcoming him upset him pretty badly...I may be wrong but he likely won't post again because of it.

Watching that number one seed at the dance slip away is always hard for him. Note that I don't post on Duke boards like he does 20 x a day.

To be fair, I've never seen anyone get nearly as upset as he does when the Terps lose to UNC.

Not sure why he thinks I get embarrassed about listening to country now and again. I got the best of HW Jr. For Xmas and it was my favorite present. And he was singing "kill you" by eminem when we were heading to lunch today so he's well familiar with more recent albeit outdated rap. He did buy the Katy perry CD ostensibly for his daughter but it is in the CD changer of his car for some reason.

Final note, MD is his college FB team, skins, Os, Caps and Wiz are the other teams he follows. Oh yeah, he was on the JV team at Duke back
when the ACC had JV teams.

Regards-

Hah! So my reverse psychology worked.

Rambling post of the year award goes to Huge Rection!

Worst jeans of the year award goes to lavarr.

The "I'm glad they weren't on the panel this week so I don't have to hear his kermit-the-frog voice" award goes to steinberger.

The award for slowest production team to learn how to best arrange 4 people in a talk show format goes to wapo.

The "not knowing which camera to look at" award goes to forsythe.

All that being said... great show...

I thought HughG's "close acquaintance came across fine and I am surprised that HGR ripped him a bit.

The Maryland/Duke discussion was actually pretty good and Liz did a good job. But if the Terps go 13-3 they will by definition beat Duke. The number could be 10 to get in, but is it doesn't include a win tomorrow night I think they will have to win twice in the ACC Tourney. Seriously, I'm looking at them winning 11 and if they win tomorrow night maybe 12. I thought Jonathan was pretty good in this segment as well.

Pete, just call him Johnny Skidmarks.

Forsythe is clearly the only member of the WaPo indsider blog universe who's skills extend to other forms of media. As such, he should be due a significant raise. This is similar to the situation when Harry Crane starts the Media Department at Sterling Cooper.

In addition, a merit increase would probably enhance the visual element of the show as his wardrobe is starting to look a bit stale.
