Domingo health update
Plácido Domingo is now at home recovering from the surgery that was announced last week, occasioning much speculation and concern about the nature of what was described as "preventative surgery."
Indeed, the doctors had found something. The operation, performed laparoscopically, removed a localized malignant polyp from his colon.
Domingo has been ordered to rest for six weeks, although "rest" with Domingo is always a relative term; his press spokeswoman says that he will continue "his administrative responsibilities as General Director of Los Angeles and Washington National Operas during his recuperation."
Best wishes to Mr. Domingo for a quick and full recovery.
