In response to Robert Battey’s consternation about the naming of the trio comprising violinist Christian Tetzlaff, cellist Tanja Tetzlaff and pianist Lars Vogt: In order to facilitate promotion of their concert at The Barns on February 26, we at Wolf Trap chose to bill them as the “Christian Tetzlaff Trio”, following the lead of our colleagues at the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, who billed them likewise for their February 25 concert.

This billing was not required by Mr. Tetzlaff, nor was it intentioned to diminish the contributions of his two distinguished colleagues. Because he has had a presence in the Washington DC market (and is returning in a few weeks as a soloist with WPAS), we wanted to be sure his fans knew of this chamber music performance. Practical constraints kept us from consistently using all three artists names and instruments as the billing mechanism, so we, following the lead of our Philadelphia colleagues, began to use Mr. Tetzlaff’s name in the billing.
