July 15 Preview: Iraq Continues to Dominate
Next week the Senate will start another round of debate on the Iraq war as they continue work on the annual Defense authorization bill. As such, Iraq will be Topic A on the Sunday talk shows this week.
NBC "Meet the Press" has Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a former military lawyer, and Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.), a Vietnam veteran who has been a leading anti-war voice.
ABC "This Week" has Sens. Richard Lugar (Ind.) and John Warner (Va.), two Republicans with deep experience in foreign relations and military affairs who have expressed skepticism of President Bush's war strategy. ABC also has national security adviser Stephen Hadley.
"Fox News Sunday" has Hadley, Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), the chairman of the Armed Services Committee.
CNN "Late Edition" has Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.), chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, as well as Sens. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.).
And CBS "Face the Nation" talks with Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and Gen. Mark Kimmitt.
