A Christmas Break for The Fix

FT. WORTH, Texas -- The Fix is officially taking a Christmas break.

It couldn't have come at a better time as the official Fix computer decided to cease working during an episode of "Extras" (love that Ricky Gervais) on the Fix family's trip to the Lone Star State.

Between now and January 5, we will be posting VERY intermittently as we recharge the proverbial batteries and get a new and improved Fix ready for 2009 and the presidency of Barack Obama.

Now also seems like as good a time as any to thank all of the Fixistas out there for your support of the blog over the past few years.

Make sure to stick around here in the new year; we've got a lot of great things planned.

In the meantime, enjoy the holidays!

When the GOP renounces abuses like this, its renaissance will begin...

DOMESTIC TORTURE VIA RADIATION WEAPONRY: AMERICA'S HORRIFIC SHAME

"The good people on the inside" (remember Mark Felt?) soon to expose the deadly "D.E.W."?

People need to grow up. If the republicans want to become the party of exclusion then let them be, then they wont be able to call America center-right anymore

"POST-RACIAL" MEANS A MERIT-BASED LEVEL PLAYING FIELD FOR ALL - A COMPLETELY COLORBLIND PROCESS WHICH MARTIN LUTHER KING ENVISIONED.

Period.

I call for a COMPLETE END TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND DIVERSITY PROGRAMS AS THE FIRST STEP INTO A POST-RACIAL SOCIETY. Affirmative Action creates categories based on race, gender and ethnic background - AND THEN CREATES DIFFERENT STANDARDS FOR EACH CATEGORY.

Allow me to quote the Supreme Court: Separate is INHERENTLY UNEQUAL.

I URGE OBAMA TO WITHDRAW ALL HIS CABINET PICKS IMMEDIATELY AS BEING MOTIVATED AND INFLUENCED BY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND DIVERSITY - AND INSTEAD SUBMIT A NEW CABINET COMPLETELY MOTIVATED BY MERIT IN A COMPLETELY COLORBLIND PROCESS.

HHMMM

THE COUNTRY DID NOT GIVE OBAMA A MANDATE - THE MANDATE WAS GIVEN TO A POST-RACIAL, POST-PARTISAN AND TRANSPARENT SOCIETY.

OBAMA NOW DELIVER.

The ugly racism of the radical right. Hatred and fear are all they've got, and that's why their party continues to shrink and lose, lose, lose, and will continue to dwindl away into nothingness, to join the Nazis in oblivion. The so-called conservative movement is dead, poisoned by its own seething hate. They really do hate the USA, along with pretty much everything else. A song about hate as a Christmas gift. That pretty well describes the Republican base today.

"(CNN) -- A candidate for the Republican National Committee chairmanship said Friday the CD he sent committee members for Christmas -- which included a song titled "Barack the Magic Negro" -- was clearly intended as a joke.

The song, set to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon," was first played on conservative political commentator Rush Limbaugh's radio show in 2007.

Its title was drawn from a Los Angeles Times column that suggested President-elect Barack Obama appealed to those who feel guilty about the nation's history of mistreatment of African-Americans.

The CD sent to RNC members, first reported by The Hill on Friday, is titled "We Hate the USA" and also includes songs referencing former presidential candidate John Edwards and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, among other targets.

According to The Hill, other song titles, some of which were in bold font, were: "John Edwards' Poverty Tour," "Wright place, wrong pastor," "Love Client #9," "Ivory and Ebony" and "The Star Spanglish Banner.""

"Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) and gun control groups are concerned that some visitors attending President-elect Obama’s inauguration may try to pack heat because of a rule allowing concealed weapons in national parks."

There is no reason on earth for concealed weapons in national parks. Just another way to make life unpleasant and dangerous for the majority of us who are sane and non-violent.

Another deadly new rule shoved down our throats by the ugly and uglier R admnistration, the very definition of evil. God, how eagerly I await their getting the hell out of my life forever. It can't happen fast enough.

Didn't you just have a Cali vacation? You younger workers always want more breaks and vacation - where is the old-fashioned work ethic? Maybe Cillizza is taking advantage of the Obama card check - maybe featherbedding.

J/K!!

Happy Holidays - I love this forum!!

I must now admit I may have misjudged the messiah. Leaving Republicans in charge of the military is the first wise decision he has ever made in his whole life.

Of course the moonbats over at huff, Kos and moveon will go beserk.

but turning the State Dept into a retirement home for all the clinton crooks and cronies is going to really mess up a lot of things.

Happy New Year, Chris.

As soon as the 111th Congress convenes on January 6, you will be in the middle of the action, again. Enjoy your family and friends for a few days, please.

And then send me my tee-shirt, please!
