Daily Fix Poll: How will the 'Pledge to America' play?
By Aaron Blake
House Republicans announced their new platform for the 2010 election -- an expansive "Pledge to America" that would shrink the size of government and push a conservative agenda.
The details are here, but the question now is: With 40 days left before the November election what impact -- if any -- will the "Pledge" have?
Most experts will tell you that an election like this one is about the party in power, but Democrats have done their darnedest to put the unpopular GOP brand on the ballot as well.
The release of the Republicans' new "Pledge" is seen as a response to repeated Democratic accusations that the GOP is the "Party of No" -- a group devoid of any real alternatives to the programs and legislation it has been so critical of.
So have a gander at the proposals, and tell us what you think the impact of the "Pledge" will be.
