Daily Fix Poll: Who won last night's Nevada Senate debate?
By Felicia Sonmez
There have been debates galore in races across the country this week, but in The Fix posse's view, none was more pivotal than last night's Nevada Senate showdown between Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and former state Assemblywoman Sharron Angle (R).
The hour-long debate had its share of high and low points for each candidate. Angle landed what appears to have been the line of the night when she told Reid to "man up" on Social Security reform, and the expectations bar arguably had been set lower for her than it had for Reid. But Angle came off nervous and unsteady at times, particularly as the debate kicked off.
Reid, meanwhile, had a comeback at the ready when Angle tried to make an issue of his personal wealth. But the Democrat was restrained in hitting back at Angle and often fell back on Washington-speak, something that may not play well with an electorate that's angry at the way things are going in the nation's capital.
Who do you think won the debate, and why? Vote below, and as always, the comments section awaits!
