Bayh's Frank Talk About Obama
While The Fix is enjoying some downtime, The Post's Dan Balz sat down with Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana yesterday to talk about the state of the Democratic presidential race and his state's upcoming starring role in the nomination fight.
Bayh's big concern, according to Balz: The controversy over Rev. Jeremiah Wright will give Republicans great ammunition for the general election. "I'm sure the far right will be out there trying to do the whole Swift Boat thing and that sort of thing. But I hope people will focus on the most substantive issues and I think the vast majority of them will," Bayh told Balz. The Indiana Democrat is backing Obama rival Hillary Rodham Clinton in Tuesday's primary.
