FixCam: Clinton's T-Shirt Competition

With just five days left before votes in South Dakota and Montana end the Democratic nomination fight (or at least the pledged delegates portion of said race), the campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) is holding a competition to choose its official t-shirt.

"We need your help to make a critical decision -- our next official campaign t-shirt," writes first daughter Chelsea Clinton in an email to supporters. "We recently launched a contest to design a campaign t-shirt, and I couldn't believe the incredible response. We got thousands of great entries."

They managed to narrow it down to five choices and you can view them and vote for your favorite on her campaign site. (The Fix's personal choice: the pantsuit shirt.)

Two observations:

* It seems somewhat strange timing to roll out the official campaign t-shirt a week before the entire process comes to a close. Couldn't they have used a ploy like this to raise money for the campaign months ago?

* An official t-shirt eh? It seems like we've heard about that idea recently.....we kid of course (sort of). But, this gives us as good a chance as any for an update on the official Fix t-shirts. If you won one of the early primary prediction contests, you should now have your shirt as they were mailed over the weekend. If you are a more recent winner, your shirt should ship by this weekend -- the envelopes are already addressed and stacked in the Fix basement. Thanks as always for you support.
