I am personally upset that just about everyone coming from the Obama campaign is deceptive.

It is pathetic.

McCain and Bush DO NOT GET ALONG - THEY HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR YEARS.

Yet the Obama people keep saying they are the same. That is deceptive.

The liberals say McCain would be the 'third Bush term.'

The liberals CAN NOT COUNT.

This is the third Bush term. We had his father and two terms for the younger Bush.

Engage on the issues.

OH the Obama campaign is unable to engage on the issues - the problem is Obama wants HIGH TAXES

That is NOT the way to go.

OBAMA IS LYING ABOUT WILLIAM AYERS THE TWO WERE CLOSE

OBAMA IS BEING DECEPTIVE ABOUT HIS CHURCH - THE RACIST ONE THAT HATES WHITES.

Let's get one thing straight: wall street was deregulated under CLINTON in 1999.

This entire disaster is a result of the banks and insurance companies wishing to keep up with the crazy returns which the internet companies appeared to be producing for investors.

In a failed attempt to keep up with the internet companies, the banks and insurance companies had their lobbyists secure the repeal of the Glass-Stegall Act which led to this week's events.

The Democratic National Committee and the Congressional Democrats took eons of money from the Wall Street lobbyists to get this repeal passed.

THE DEMOCRATS ARE THE ONES WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE -

OK

Bush's Father During the first Bush Term in the early 90s "If you want this economy to look like Arkansas, Elect Bill Clinton and see what happens to our economy."

HE WAS RIGHT.

Top Ten Things Overheard At Palin Debate Camp:
------------------

10. "Let's practice your bewildered silence."

9. "Can you try saying 'yes' instead of 'you betcha'?"

8. "Hey, I can see Mexico from here!"

7. "Maybe we'll get lucky and there won't be any questions about Iraq, taxes or healthcare."

6. "We're screwed!"

5. "Can I just use that lipstick-pit bull thing again?"

4. "We have to wrap it up for the day -- McCain eats dinner at 4:30."

3. "Can we get Congress to bail us out of this debate?"

2. "John Edwards wants to know if you'd like some private tutoring in his van."

1. "Any way we can just get Tina Fey to do it?"

I get a kick out of all of these Wingnuts who think Caribou Barbie did great at the debate just because she could effectively read note cards....and she still did terrible.
She sounded like she was running for high school student counsil president.

If you take the tele-prompter and note cards away from Palin she's turns back into what she really is:
an unqualified know-nothing who will wink and say "youbetcha" when you pull her string.

I agree with the deluded Repubs out there, I think McCain should turn her loose and let her do some open press conferences (which she still won't do)....."wink, wink"

No More Politics as Usual!

For a healthy choice how about a la carte voting?

Write in McCain for President
Write in Biden for VP

Why will this work? Non-partisan representation in the White House. Each candidate is known for his ability to reach across the isle, years of experience in foreign and domestic issues and both seek the same results in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Silent Todd Palin attends meetings for the secession of the Alaskan state, yet Michelle Obama is out of line for taking pride in the fact that for the first time in American history a black man has the (strong) chance of winning the Presidency. Funny what people consider a patriot.

Posted by: 4achange | October 4, 2008 1:14 PM | Report abuse

Palin was great. It was refreshing to see a lot of the positive comments on this woman rather than the constant berating of the media for the 7 minutes of air time her 2 hour interview actually received. I would bet that most people could easily say something stupid in a 2 hour time frame and I like that fact that she is human and can make mistakes. I am frustrated with the comparisons she keeps receiving to Michelle Obama, the way they dressm hold themselves, speak, etc. How anyone can compare a patriot like Palin to a person like Michelle Obama who has stated "this is the first time in my adult life that I have been proud of my country" is beyond me. Besides, the two roles are a little different, you know Vice President of the US or, first lady...hmmmm.

The only thing that photo says to me is that Cillizza is continuing allow his masturbatory fantasies about Palin destroy his formerly insightful column.

Chris, why did you let Chris Matthews run all over you? Where were the snippy retorts? The gripping facts to back up your position?

When you resorted to 'I'm Italian', I knew you were in too deep and were trying to run. I've been there too.

There is no defense for Sister Sarah. I look forward to her return to Alaska, where her political career will die a frozen death.

What?!? You didn't post one of her winking? Afraid of the words that would actually come to mind for the viewer?

Where I live, we have a term for women in business who use their good looks and flirtatious manner to mask a multitude of inadequacies and that term is "Fluff Muffin".

Sarah Palin is the Ultimate Fluff Muffin (and might make a passable White House tour guide if our nation is smart enough to reject her - and her keeper).

Joe looks like he is thinking one of two things:

1. "What a scary piece of work."
2. "I can't believe this."

Gov. Palin is trying so hard to project through the screen, but at the moment of the picture she looks like the proverbial deer in the headlights.

I thought it was lame when she didn't answer the questions.

The winks offended me. This is not "American Idol." Our future is at stake here.

"Where's the FRIDAY LINE????? What the heck, Chris? You're totally not living up to your promises."

Dude, el Fez* wrote the friday line yesterday, in order to accommodate the necessary multiple posts on the Palin-Biden debates. Click back 4 or 5 posts and you'll find a three-way Line on governors.

* in an offline conversation I referred to the fix as el fix, which made me think of musician el vez (the latino elvis impersonator). The Fix being a music junkie and man of many hats, well, 'el Fez' seems natural.

Chris,

You're getting your clock clean by Chris Matthew. Obviously, you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to picking the leader of the free world.

I understand you've been dinning with the McCain's campaign in Virginia. Well, let me break the news to you, Sarah palin is not qualify to lead this nation.

Perhaps, you need to step back and think about the major issues this country is facing. Palin is just not ready for the prime time. This country is too complex for someone that doesn't know what they're talking point.

She didn't answer questions
repeated seven talking points (verbatim and repeatedly)
Insulted her opponent whenever she could hiding under the politics of her gender

and still got facts wrong.

This woman may not be an idiot at the local neighborhood association...

but as far as deciding whether to shoot commercial airliners down because a suspected terrorist is on board and an uncomfirmed bomb that hasn't been located...

can you imagine Palin...ugh...

what if the airliner were Russian?
or British?
or Israeli?

and she decides whether or not to shoot down hundreds of American civilians...that is frightening.

Joe Sixpack Speaks

Come on in.

I prefer Joseph, really. It's not a status thing. It's just, you know, once I was walking down the street in Wasilla, it was all "Hey, Joe!" "Hey, Joey!"

Yes, that's right, I don't drop my "g"s. What is that, anyway? There is a "g" at the end of the word, after all.

The thing is, sure I like bowling, poker. But I also like Vivaldi, you know? It's so condescending. It's as if they're trying to draw a caricature, a one-dimensional person for purely political purposes.

(Brushes hair back with his hand. Steam from radiator hisses softly in background)

And did you ever notice how the people who use the term "Joe Sixpack" are never from the lower class of the population themselves?

It's an act, really, on their part, just a political vehicle, a means to an end. If I was working for her, and said just one thing the wrong way, you can be sure that ol' Joe Sixpack would be canned just as fast as a load of Wasilla salmon.

Personally, I'd rather have someone who saw me as an actual person, not a political trope. They're more likely to care about me and my kids' needs, rather than using the false empathy designed to once again lure the middle and lower classes with populist appeals that are then brutally contradicted by their policies.

I mean, it's as if they're hoping that we're stupid, so that we'll fall for the same old empty words, and then they think we'll just fall asleep again once they're in office, while they cater to their buddies again, you know?

(Dog barks). Quiet, Bruno!

It's like they create a symbol of a false humanity, in order to avoid dealing with our actual problems and needs. It's like my foreman told me, who's that guy, what's his name, oh yeah, Dostoyevsky said: "A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else."

Anyway, I've got to get going. You can take the rest of the six-pack with you if you want. I'm giving the stuff up. Fogs the head, makes you vote for these opportunistic guys, you don't hear what they really are saying.

Not this time.

This time, it's going to be different.
