PostTalk: Huckabee's Tough Talk About Romney

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Fix and Washington Post senior political reporter Dan Balz had a chance this morning to sit down with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee aboard his campaign bus.

The highlight of the interview was Huckabee's suggestion that nominating former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney presents a real risk to the Republican Party, due to Romney's change of heart on issues like abortion.

"Let's assume everything is hunky-dory with his views now," Huckabee said of Romney. "The problem is not so much where he is but where he was and the fact that that's a change and not just on that issue but on a number of others. What's problematic is that it does represent a dramatic shift and the obvious thing that a Democrat[ic] opponent will do to him is to say he shifted once, will he shift again?"
