Barack Obama's statement on Sara Palin's daughter's pregnancy was full of class, empathy, and was right on target. He spoke as a father and son of a teenage mother in a way that transcended partisanship. His statement demonstrates to me just how classy a candidate can be even as his own "supporters" (who knows WHO writes the anonymous garbage on this and other blogs) behave as poorly reared adolescents left alone in a lockerroom with an internet connection and with no parental supervision.

Fix needs to grow a beard before he talks to Balz. Looks like a big baby!

Could bring p bitter memories of Katrina and nip the Republicans, but they've already gained a huge advantage by getting Bush and Cheeny off the convention speakers list without literally snubbing them. McCain is really thanking Gustav for that one.

The video was taken at the National Governors' Association meeting in Providence, RI on February 25. It is funny to watch Palin wince when Chris refers to Alaska as a small state. Chris will be lucky if she isn't elected and/or doesn't have a good memory.

At the very least, McCain's response to this hurricane will be very different from Bush's response to Katrina. I believe this will be McCain's shining moment.

Don't know where else to post a comment on Chris's video interview with Palin, which is linked on today's WaPo homepage. I enjoyed it very much. My disgruntlement is there's no clue as to when it took place or where - except clearly it was before she was picked.

It's a small thing, one so easily remedied, I'm making the motion that, in the future, copy editors please identify for us, in the caption or somewhere, the date and city of the interview. Thanks.

Chris:

Please ask Dan why he believes that once Nagin and the democratic Governor failed to evacuate everyone from New Orleans before Katrina - why are the REPUBLICANS then resposible to INSTANTLY RESCUE everyone left behind.

PLEASE NOTE: The democrats had a chance to get everyone out of New Orleans when the roads were DRY

For some reason Dan Balz is convinced that the REPUBLICANS should be able to instantly RESCUE people once all the roads are completely flooded.

Chris please take the Kool-Aid away from Dan.

Chris - is Dan's tongue all colored from the massive amounts of Kool-Aid?
