The discovery of John Thune
For months -- if not years -- the Republican/conservative smart set has been looking for a fresh face on which to hang their hopes and dreams. South Dakota Sen. John Thune may be that person. Malek on Palin: "She's obviously touching a need"
Fred Malek, a major Republican donor and personal friend to Sarah Palin, defended the score-settling elements of the former Alaska governor's soon-to-be-released memoir as a justified response to a series of inaccurate leaks about her conduct in the wake of the campaign. "The leaks were lacking in truth, honor and chivalry," said Malek in an interview with the Fix. "If there was some score-settling, isn't that unusual for this town," he added sarcastically.

IL-Sen: Kirk Seeks Palin Endorsement
