Palin On Prejean

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin re-appeared on the national stage tonight, jumping to the defense of a beauty pageant contestant who has been at the center of a media feeding frenzy in recent days.

"The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against [Miss California] Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable," said Palin in a statement. Palin added that she spoke to Prejean soon after the beauty queen said publicly that she believed she had lost the Miss USA competition due to her answer to blogger -- and contest judge -- Perez Hilton that marriage is between a man and a woman.

"What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe --- marriage is between a man and a woman," Palin added. "Our Constitution protects us all -- not just those who agree with the far left."

The Alaska governor and former vice presidential candidate has struggled to balance her current job with her ambitions on the national stage. The latest example: She was expected to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner last weekend but canceled at the last minute to attend to flooding in the Last Frontier. (The First Dude -- Palin's husband Todd -- did attend the dinner.)

At least she's not declaring independence for Alaska anymore. Maybe she wanted to talk more about her husbands condition and nobody ask her how he was doing. Typical right wing Propaganda, play the common sense card. She's probably hanging around O'Reilly again.

Dear Fellow American

Governor Sarah Palin must beat Barack Obama in 2012 because of her superior conservative right wing philosophy in that she is pro God and Christianity, pro life, pro marriage; pro guns-second amendment, pro low taxes, pro low government spending; pro small government, pro unintrusive government, pro traditional and Judeo Christian values; pro Bible reading and prayer in our public schools, pro Christians schools and private education , pro private and free enterprise; pro military spending, anti arms agreements with Russia, pro creation; pro nuclear, pro conservative supreme court judges, pro American sovereignty; pro capitalism, anti communist, anti socialist; anti immigration, and pro constitution. Barack Obama are of the inferior liberal and left wing ideology in that he is against every thing that Governor Sarah Palin is for and he is for every thing that Governor Sarah Palin is against. Above all from January 20, 2013 to January 20, 2021 Sarah Palin will be the greatest President that the United States of America will have ever had.

Lets go Sarah Palin for President 2012

Thank You,

Johntheman7

LauraVW writes: "The irony underlining all this is that under the Obama vision for America gay marriage would be illegal across the country"

The irony is that you're wrong. As in: totally wrong. I'm no fan of Obama on this (or a number of other) issues, but I'm even less a fan of falsehoods. As an Obama spokesperson said, "Senator Obama supports civil unions, and he has consistently opposed federal and state constitutional marriage amendments." Palin, meanwhile, supported Prop 8. IN fact, she BACKS a federal amendment, saying in October of last year regarding a federal marriage amendment, "I wish on a federal level that that’s where we would go because I don’t support gay marriage." Your whole states' rights argument is SUCH a red herring. And your conclusion is bull pucky.

So which is it: are you ignorant or willfully lying?

Looks like the goopers and the snake handlers are losing another one.

The trend is unmistakable, monotonically in the direction of increasing choice. There will be setbacks but as far as SSM is concerned the opposition is aging fast. To the under-30s the idea of discriminating against gays seems as absurd as discriminating against blacks became a generation ago.

'Course the thumpers will be dragged kicking and screaming into the present but so what, they've opposed interraciala marriage and suffrage and every other advance, so to hell with them

Posted by: chrisfox8 | May 15, 2009 1:31 AM | Report abuse

Wait....the governor of ALASKA is weighing in on Miss CALIFORNIA's behavior? How does it affect the business of Alaska? Geez. The governor of CALIFORNIA hasn't even stepped in this one, I guess because there are serious budget issues to deal with. Alaska must not have any problems that its governor has time to issue statements about beauty/popularity contests.

Posted by: Invalid_User_Name | May 15, 2009 12:48 AM | Report abuse

The irony underlining all this is that under the Obama vision for America gay marriage would be illegal across the country while Governor Palin, a Consitutionalist--who believes it is an issue that should be decided state by state--may end up being one of the few defenders for states who have enacted gay marriage to keep it. I'll take Palin.

Posted by: LauraVW | May 14, 2009 8:39 PM | Report abuse

Now just which parts of Prejean is Palin supporting for her Alaska government presence to weigh in on: 1) That the California pageant provided her silicon boobie implants? 2) That she showed them off "nekked as a jaybird?" or 3) That contracts don't need to be honest or honored?...Oh well, don't worry, if it ever gets into book form, Palin can just burn it!!

LOL, i wasn't aware gays were fighting for marriage when blacks had trouble getting married. Try again :) So you're saying hetero's should have a privilege and not gays? Either legalize it for all, or take away marriage for all. That's equality.

"I love discrimination!"

Of course you do, it's displayed in most of your posts :)

"Nope. It's about you trying to get your lifestyle CHOICE legitimized."

Sorry, but homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don't choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. If you can, sorry, but you are not heterosexual, you are bi-sexual. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice. While science is relatively new to studying homosexuality, studies tend to indicate that its biological.

But we don't need scientific evidence for this.

I shall ask you this. Are you male? (If not, reverse the questions to the other gender) If so, Are you sexually attracted to other men? Would you be able to enjoy sex with a man? Do you get sexual urges with a man? Do men turn you on sexually and emotionally? Could you be happy with a man sexually for the rest of your life?

Did facts prove you wrong again? :)

"trolling"

Incidentally, this is just another of your tired methods: when you can't win the argument, claim the person who is defeating you is 'trolling'.

In reality, this was very easy for me because fact is on my side. Marriage is a social institution, thus society determines how it will be defined. The fact that it came to a vote bolsters this position.

"So what have we learned?"

We have learned that among much name-calling and distortion of facts, you have yet to provide one credible argument against gay marriage.

"Marriage is not a 'right', it is a privilege. As a privilege its application and eligibility are determined by sets of rules dictated by society and tradition."

Except under our Constitution, equality is a big thing. And traditions and society is continuously changing.

"If you want to change those rules, you must petition the people to do so."

There's no law that says you have to petition the people to do so :)

"Left-wingers are, by nature, hateful people."
Lol, i don't even have to comment on this one. The description you give labels Republicans, and Christians in particular. You're a dying breed, both your party and your religion.

So what have we learned?

Marriage is not a 'right', it is a privilege. As a privilege its application and eligibility are determined by sets of rules dictated by society and tradition.

Those rules naturally exclude homosexuals from participation - much like they exclude polygamists.

If you want to change those rules, you must petition the people to do so.

When you lose, you don't get to act like spoiled brats, call everyone who voted against you a 'hater', and try to destroy their life.

If you do, you will only galvanize your opposition - so please keep doing it!

Democrats can only get power through lying, cheating, and stealing. And they quickly lose any advantage they gain (look at the past 75 years!).

The country has always been more Conservative than Statist, and has already swung back to favor Republicans in coming elections.

Left-wingers are, by nature, hateful people. They need to ridicule and speak poorly of anyone who disagrees with them, largely because left-wingers are unhappy and empty inside and hate that Conservatives are more beautiful, happier, and lead better lives.

But more importantly, left-wingers are fascists. They want nothing more than to destroy Democracy and impose their will upon the people. This is why left-wingers revere Che Guevara, Stalin, and many other fascists through history.

Bottom line: ask someone their opinion, respect them when they give it to you. Or you end up looking like an ass.

Dodging again! Must be unbearable to have such a shaky position and so little intellect that you can't carry a thought through one rebuttal!

"The Democrats and Republicans were far different back in those days"

The only thing that changed is the Democrats realized that the best way to control people was to put them under the direct control of the government. This is why all Democratic ideas use the lie of 'freedom' to impose servitude: welfare, government health care, unionization, etc.

The fact remains that the Republican party is the only party that has actually fought for freedom. Because Republicans (and Conservatives in general) believe in the document upon which this country was founded, which is the only true guarantor of freedom.

"There are polls showing a majority of Americans support gay marriage"

There are polls showing a majority of Americans opposing it as well.

The important point is: do the majority of states allow or disallow it?

Hurts, don't it?

"As for re-capturing Congress in 2006, that's laughable."

It sure is, because we don't have a time machine. But it's inevitable that it will switch hands again.

"What it showed was the more your behavior was revealed, the more people were against 'gay marriage'. "

Thats why polls show a massive shift in opinion since the legalization in other states :)

"The way you deal with people who disagree with you is more so."

We're not the one who put measures on ballot to take another groups rights, or telling people they are going to hell. Let's see how your side deals with issues you don't agree with:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violence_against_LGBT_people

"You used the 'slippery slope' argument, not me."

You tried to reference polygamy and pedophilia will result from gay marriage. That's what a slippery slope argument is. And i proved you wrong on it.

"You haven't provided any arguments. You're like a child with your fingers in your ears, screaming "I'm rubber and you're glue". You've been defeated, utterly and entirely. Grow up."

Someone who insults telling someone else they can't debate, how ironic! Much like your party :) See, to win an argument, you have to prove the other wrong. "Idiot" is not proof. Sorry :)

"That would be a valid argument, if we were a democracy, not a democratic republic"

When you looked that up on Wikipedia, perhaps you should have also looked up what 'Democratic Republic' means. Hint: it has something to do with 'democracy'.

"that was the will of the people."

I guess you support eugenics, ethnic cleansing, Nazism, and purges. Because that was the will of the all-knowing government fascists you emulate.

"They had the right to marry"

No, they didn't. There was never a homosexual right to marriage.

"What you fail to mention, is that the parties were reversed in the past on the issues."

Another lie. The best part about this lie you Democrats tell yourselves is you can't agree when it happened.

The KKK was a Democratic organization. It was founded in the late 1800's, early 1900's. Did 'the switch' happen then? But wait, it was Democrats fighting integration of schools in the 60's - did 'the switch' happen then? Was it when a Democrat president ramped up Vietnam into a full war, and almost got into a nuclear war with Russia? Was it when a Democrat president destroyed the national economy with 'stagflation' and 'malaise'? Was it when a Democrat president bombed an innocent pharmaceutical company to distract the world from his affair, and created an ongoing humanitarian crisis?

The mythical switch is so convenient, it can explain away anything wrong your party does!

"Not gonna happen"

Keep telling yourself that, while it happens. The people will not be silenced.

Ok new age, apparently logic hurts your brain, but here goes:

-"It's not my opinion, it's Nate Silver's. He's the authority on polling analysis"

There are many "the authority"'s on polling analysis."

Please link me another person/site who analyzes polls like Nate Silver does, who has won awards for his work, and who has result that prove his methods are correct.

-"And all polls use 'weasel words', which is why polls fluctuate so greatly.
The only constant is how people vote on issues, and people vote overwhelmingly Conservative on issues."

You make my point for me here. Polls do fluctuate, which is why you analyze trends over time and multiple polls, like Silver does, instead of citing one poll as the be-all end-all of it. There are polls showing a majority of Americans support gay marriage. This is america supporting the conservative postion on the issue how?

-"As I pointed out before, even with your rampant cheating you barely squeaked out a victory on Nov 4th. In 4 years you won't be so lucky. Hell, in two years the Congress will go back to the Republicans, who can start cleaning up your socialist/leftist mess. Please, at that point carry through with your threat to move. We'd love to be rid of you."

Rampant cheating? What on earth are you referring to? This isn't 2000 and a contested election that took months to resolve, Obama won by a large margin. The public opinion was clear.

As for re-capturing Congress in 2006, that's laughable.

"Bingo! A fascist admits he's a fascist. What a surprise."

That would be a valid argument, if we were a democracy, not a democratic republic :) So i guess you support slavery, keeping women as 2nd class citizens, keeping interracial marriages illegal, and keeping segregation, because that was the will of the people.

"There is no 'right to choose', there is a privilege; and if gays had a 'right to marry' you wouldn't be fighting over Prop 8"

They had the right to marry, we were fighting because religious bigots wanted to take away rights by referendum, while ignoring the fact that babies can still be killed in the 3 other states that had abortion referendums. Nice party you got there :)

"Meanwhile, which party brought about racial integration of schools? What party was Martin Luther King Jr.? What party was Abraham Lincoln?"

What you fail to mention, is that the parties were reversed in the past on the issues. It was recently where democrats took more liberal stances and republicans took more conservative stances. What you should be mentioning is conservative vs liberal progress, not Democrat vs Republican.

"Like Prop 8. Which will be coming to all those states ... soon."

Not gonna happen :) Most of those states have a much harder process to get it on the ballot, and by the time they do, people like yourself will be left in the dust as society passes you up, like the racists ^^

"The results of prop 8 show a trend, that the gap was much closer"

What it showed was the more your behavior was revealed, the more people were against 'gay marriage'. This is why the Gavin Newsom ad polarized the opposition: the sense of entitlement you and people like you have is obnoxious. The way you deal with people who disagree with you is more so. All this hate you've been spreading because you lost at the polls has only galvanized people further.

" If you use the slippery slope argument, you have to support removing heterosexual marriages, otherwise your argument fails."

You used the 'slippery slope' argument, not me. And your point is ridiculous. The slippery slope is an argument of permissiveness; you attempting to radicalize it away with the most obtuse generalization is just an example of your juvenile inability to debate.

"You have failed to disprove any of my arguments"

You haven't provided any arguments. You're like a child with your fingers in your ears, screaming "I'm rubber and you're glue". You've been defeated, utterly and entirely. Grow up.

"Nonsense. But even if we assumed your flawed reasoning, what do the results of Prop 8 and similar ballot initiatives prove? That the majority of America thinks you're wrong."

The results of prop 8 show a trend, that the gap was much closer despite all the lies and scare tactics on your ads. Also, the common trend among younger voters show that they approve gay marriage by a 60-30% margin. The majority changes it's thinking, and sometimes it takes activist judges and legislative action to do it, like what was done for blacks.

"It will be."

Just like Palin will be elected in 2012? Lol!

"Once again, you fail to understand analogy. It's okay. I already know that you lack sufficient intelligence for a real debate."

Nothing but insults! I like it, that means you have lost the argument and got nothing else to say :)

"Riiiight. By your 'logic', this means life leads to robbery. So we should just get rid of life, right? You start."

Don't try to dance around the issue mr. troll :) If you use the slippery slope argument, you have to support removing heterosexual marriages, otherwise your argument fails.

"because you've been proven wrong, the people have told you you're wrong"

You have failed to disprove any of my arguments except saying things like "idiot" You know what you also failed doing? Trolling =) You are terrible at it, too obvious you're trying to incite anger. Let me post something for ya.

For those of you that don't know what a troll is, they basically are posters that take a side on any sensitive topic (religion, sexuality, etc) and post to rile up and anger other posters for their own satisfaction and fun. They usually dance around a central idea while ignoring all evidence (since their primary motive is to incite anger, not prove anything). Other troll behavior includes twisting your words out of context, name-calling, or doing anything that may get a rise out of you.

The best way to own a troll is to get under their skin. When a troll realizes he can't incite anger in people and or get a rise out of them, it irks him. They keep trying, but its fun watching them in desperation as they throw everything at you trying to get any kind of rise. They lose even more, because for each troll, it gives the pro gay marriage side the chance to spread facts and information about homosexuality, to get rid of ignorance. It's a win/win situation for us.

Also, you apparently don't even read your own links:

So it's a weasel-worded question, designed to get more people to say Republicans. Rarely after a two term president does one from the same party follow them into office (H-Dub was the only one since 1950).

" Over dozens of states banned interracial marriages"

You might want to read what I actually wrote.

There is a difference between setting up a secondary, post-definition ban, and being excluded from the actual definition.

"gay marriage was 2 consenting loving adults, not multiple partners."

I understand that the concept of analogy is too complex for you, but you have to understand that you just look like an idiot. Let me draw a line for you: polygamy is a concept that is excluded from our definition of marriage by definition. This makes it EXACTLY LIKE 'gay marriage'. Neither are bigoted, hateful, or any of the other idiot buzzwords you and your type throw around - it's just the way it is.

"We are petitioning to the people, known as our governors, legislators, and representatives,"

A decision that hasn't been overturned =)

"You heartless bastard, you won't let 18 loving consenting people get married. You're worse than Hitler!"

Once again, you bring irrelevant things. 2 != multiple partners. If you insist on using the slippery slope argument, that fails on many levels. Gay marriage has only been legal recently, as we been eliminating ignorance and realizing there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. However, polygamy, has been observed in many countries and times throughout the past, with a majority of the relationships being men with multiple woman.
hxxp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygamy

By your logic, this means heterosexual marriage has a tendency to lead to polygamy and polyandry, so we should eliminate heterosexual marriage then too. See why your "slippery" slope logic fails? Also, since gay marriage has a tendency to lead to heterosexual marriage, again, if you are using the slippery slope argument, we need to get rid of marriage altogether since heterosexual marriage leads to gay marriage. That is why the slippery slope argument fails.

"Entirely false."

hxxp://hnn.us/articles/4708.html
You might want to do a brief history lesson. Over dozens of states banned interracial marriages. In 1965, California voted by over a 60% margin to keep blacks out of white neighborhoods. Not allowing 2 gay people to marry is similar to racism, in that you are denying equality to people based on who they are. Discrimination is discrimination. The institution in many states of our country, was a white man and white woman, etc, and before that, blacks had virtually no rights.

"The real analogy to 'gay marriage' is polygamy"

When you broad-type anything dealing with any aspect of reproduction as 'anti-abortion', it's easy to make your point and run. But the fact that a petition to get eggs recognized as human beings failed doesn't mean a thing. The majority of the nation is still against abortion. "Now now, tear a page out of your Bible "

I'm an atheist. See, the problem with debating people who think differently from you - instead of sitting around sipping lattes with other rich, racist white people who pretend to be 'liberal' and agreeing on everything Jon Stewart tells you - is you have to come up with an actual argument, not some broadside stereotype.

"The reason your party is dying"

You also have to pay attention to fact. Even when you cheated the game, you barely won. And you're already losing again. Keep saying the party is dying. Keep insulting religious people, people who believe in the Constitution, and people who believe in traditional marriage. Please. It only causes more people to realize how empty and hateful your political agenda is.

"At one time, the majority were against interracial marriage, and if it weren't for the activist judges you so hate and left up to the people, interracial marriage would still be outlawed today."

Entirely false.

This is just an example of your racism - to you, the black man is just something you drag out to make an emotional point. You use their suffering to try to bolster your own weak position. But to people with reasoning skills, it's just tired and obvious.

Interracial marriages have always been possible in the US. Pioneers wed 'Indians', blacks wed whites, etc. In many places the practice was staunchly argued against or even made illegal. But it was done so as a matter of PRACTICE, not as a matter of CODIFICATION.

Not allowing two people of the same sex to marry has nothing to do with racism. The institution of marriage, as understood in our country, is only applicable to two people of consenting age, of opposite sex.

The real analogy to 'gay marriage' is polygamy, and the reason you pretend you don't see that is it proves why your argument is wrong. We don't allow polygamy, and it's not hate, it's not 'bigotry'. It's just how we define marriage.

Marriage excludes your little pet group. Tough. If you want to change that, petition the people - in many states you'd have success. In some you won't. You don't have the write to force your will upon the people who disagree with you.

At one time, the majority were against interracial marriage, and if it weren't for the activist judges you so hate and left up to the people, interracial marriage would still be outlawed today. Traditional marriage used to be a white man and white woman, black man and black woman, etc. The problem for you is, your side is running out of excuses to condone your bigotry of homosexuality. In fact, i have yet to see one valid argument against homosexuality or gay marriage, even if religion is used (interpreted properly homosexuality is not a sin). As the economy keeps getting worse, as we go deeper into debt, as we lose the small advantage we have in health care, as jobs continue to be lost, as national security continues to fall, as our enemies become more and more bold and our friends become ostracized, as proponents of 'gay marriage' seek to redefine a traditional institution and destroy anyone who opposes them - as all these things happen, YOU will continue to become more and more irrelevant.

And it couldn't happen to more deserving people.

To wit (so to speak):

[Founder Bobby] Henderson proposed many of the beliefs...

The canonical beliefs of Flying Spaghetti Monsterism are set forth by Henderson in the Open Letter, the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and on Henderson's web site, where he is described as a prophet.

The central belief is that there is an invisible and undetectable Flying Spaghetti Monster, who created the entire universe "after drinking heavily." The Monster's intoxication was supposedly the cause for a flawed Earth. All "evidence" for evolution was planted by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, in an effort to test Pastafarians' faith — a form of the Omphalos hypothesis. When scientific measurements, such as radiocarbon dating, are made, the Flying Spaghetti Monster "is there changing the results with His Noodly Appendage."

The Pastafarian belief of heaven stresses that it contains a beer volcano and a stripper factory. Hell is similar, except that the beer is stale, and the strippers have STDs.

Henderson uses parallel concepts from religious texts when describing the FSM, poking fun at those who literally interpret the Bible. The religious text of the Pastafarian religion is called the Loose Canon instead of the formal Canon. In place of the Ten Commandments, it contains the Eight I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts.

The official conclusion to prayers is "RAmen", contained in certain sections of The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and so on. It is a portmanteau of the Semitic term "Amen" (used in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam); and Ramen, a type of noodle. While it is typically spelled with both a capital "R" and "A", it is also acceptable to spell it with only a capital R.

Ms. Prejean is the ultimate opportunist.
She successfully convinced Trump that she was a victim of class warfare on the gay marriage issue. Yet, she did invalidate her contract, lied about it repeatedly with stories of "there's only one photo, the wind blew my blouse to expose my ***'s, I was only 17 when the photos were taken"....all of these not true and a serious breech of her contract agreement.
She should not have been persecuted by the far left for her comments but she also should have had her crown taken away for her serious breech of ethics.

I find it ridiculous that anyone would question the fact that a gay man is a judge.

Are you really asserting that a gay man knows nothing about the beauty of a female body?

Perez Hilton is a ditz... who cares?
The problem is Prejean decided to campaign against gay marriage by being a spokesperson for NOM.
Its not exactly the same position as our president. Obama was even against prop 8.

Posted by: JaimeSu | May 14, 2009 4:52 PM | Report abuse

So, once again, why was Hilton on the judges' panel?

That's so easy: Perez Hilton was hired because Donald Trump and his Miss USA organization decided Hilton would be the best choice for their money. Miss USA is a business enterprise that is not intended to be anything but a money-making publicity machine, and it is NOT a free-speech forum. A better comparison for the Miss USA contest would be to a passel of applicants seeking the same PR position: as with any other job, if you don't self-filter on controversial topics during the interview process, your potential employer can use what you say as grounds to eliminate you from consideration. It's the free-enterprise system at work.

For skeptics and rationalists who don't blindly suspend their reason in favor of faith by believing in a religion (yours or anyone else's), holy books have no authority. Instead, they're just quaint cobblings-together of written-down (likely garbled) oral history, mythological and unscientific explanations for physical phenomena, personal-cult charismatic teachings and "dreams" (delusions and hallucinations of the mentally ill, even up to comparatively recent times, e.g., Joseph Smith, L. Ron Hubbard, Jim Jones). Consider all the biblical and other religious stories and myths that have already been disproven through science; it's only a matter of time till the rest are.

"HAHAHAHAH Jake believes in god and ghosts"

Actually, most people on the planet believe in some Supreme Being. It's atheists that are the oddballs.

Even secular Europe is on it's way to becomin a Muslim theocracy as shown by this video:

http://townhall.com/blog/g/ef2e8de5-e8c3-4742-ad01-71226e7b18c9

In the long run, atheism is unappealing because it fails to answer basic questions like "Where did I come from" and "What is my purpose in life?" I can speak from experience because I lived like an atheist in my college years.

By contrast, Christianity answers those questions and then some. In fact, atheist philosopher Marcello Pera has admitted that Europe as we've known it won't survive unless its citizens RETURN to their Christian roots. Pera has even written a book called "Why We Must Call Ourselves Christian.":

http://www.zenit.org/article-24494?l=english

So, there is something to putting your faith in a Higher Power (specifically Jesus Christ) who explains your purpose and origins instead of just drifting through life.

However, the fact that people can recite scripture to support their views does not address the issue that not everyone follows your religion and until you live in a theocracy (like Iran does) with only one state-sanctioned religion, your religion does NOT get to make all the laws for everyone else.

Or we could go with the equally acceptable possibility of labeling religious laws as "Religious Law - (insert various religion name here)" and then anyone who isn't that religion doesn't have to follow them.

LIBERAL TALIBAN ISSUES FATWA AGAINST MISS CALIFORNIA

Not even Dick Cheney can incite the blood-curdling rage of liberals at the sight of a sexy Evangelical Christian. Paula Jones, Katherine Harris, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and, most recently, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, have all come under a frenzy of attacks from liberals.

Christians are supposed to be fat, balding sweaty little men with bad complexions. It's liberals who are supposed to be the sexy ones. (I know that from watching "The West Wing" and all movies starring Julia Roberts.)

But sadly for liberals, in real life, the fat, balding sweaty little guy with the bad complexion is Perez Hilton and the smoking-hot babe is Carrie Prejean.

This apparent contradiction incites violent anger in liberals, triggering their famous "fight or flight" response. So liberal masturb*tors are, once again, launching furious attacks on a beautiful Christian in a fit of pique similar to the one directed at Joan of Arc.

First, the Miss USA contest held a press conference to announce that Prejean had breast implants. Take a Christian position in public and Satan's handmaidens will turn all your secrets into front-page news.

Next, a photographer released a single cheesecake photo of Prejean. This prompted liberal reporters who have never met a Christian to proclaim that Christians were outraged by the photo. Liberals believe abortion is a sacrament, but smoking, wearing short skirts and modeling lingerie are mortal sins. (And if wearing women's underwear is a basis for being disqualified from the pageant, that's the end of Perez Hilton's judging career.)

Then on Monday some genuine "semi-nude" photos were released. These were not what we'd call appropriate for a Christian. In a curiously similar attack, the left's final attempt to destroy Paula Jones was to lure her into appearing naked in Penthouse magazine. Oh well.

Christians aren't people who believe they are without sin; they're people who know they're sinners and are awestruck by God's grace in sending his only Son to take the punishment they deserve.

This is in contradistinction to liberals, all of whom believe they're on a fast track to heaven on the basis of being "basically good" people -- and also believe that anyone who disagrees with that theological view is evil.

Finally (so far, anyway), reporters gleefully released the divorce records of Prejean's parents. Because when you want the truth, what is more reliable than angry accusations traded in the middle of an acrimonious divorce?

Liberals used the divorce papers to argue that Prejean had some deep-seated psychological disturbance causing her to oppose gay marriage. Symptoms of this debilitating illness include a belief in some sort of "god" and a reverence for the Bible.

Posted by: JakeD | May 14, 2009 4:11 PM | Report abuse

(cont.)

It's not as if Prejean's special talent in the Miss USA contest was to perform an opposite-sex marriage. (Or, as the president and I call it, "marriage.") She didn't even volunteer her "controversial" views on marriage. Rather, she was asked for her opinion on gay marriage and gave it -- in an answer wrapped in so many layers of sugar it took 10 minutes to get to the point.

"Well, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. You know what, in my country, in my family, I do believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that's how I was raised, and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman."

What a vicious hate-monger! Any second there I was expecting her to bust out a "by golly!" or an "oh my gosh!" Angry gay-marriage supporters should be happy they didn't get my version of that answer. It contains some terms you won't find in your Bible.

Liberals wouldn't attack James Dobson with the amount of bile they've directed at a 21-year-old beauty contestant. It's not just Christianity -- it's women liberals hate.

From Jean-Paul Sartre, Pablo Picasso and Bertrand Russell, who treated women -- mostly their mistresses -- like dogs, to Teddy Kennedy and Bill Clinton in our own day, liberals are ferocious misogynists. They share Muslims' opinion of women, differing only to the extent that liberals also support a women's right to have an abortion and to perform lap dances.

You'd be better off in a real burqa than under the authority of a liberal American male.

I'm not sure we needed a psychological profile of Prejean to figure out why she holds the same position on gay marriage as: the president, the vice president, the secretary of state, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards and his mistress, and the vast majority of the American people.

But what is crying out for an explanation is why every bubble-head TV news anchorette from a nice, churchgoing red state ends up adopting the political views of Karl Marx.

From Katie Couric on CBS to Norah O'Donnell on MSNBC, the whole stable of TV anchorettes weirdly have the exact same politics as their liberal masters. It's the ideological burqa women are required to wear to work in the mainstream media. As with a conventional burqa, it enforces conformity and severely restricts the vision.

The only way to protect yourself is to do the liberal male's bidding, as the bubble-head anchorettes do, or stand on the rock of Christianity.

Now, another beautiful Christian has thrown off the liberal burqa, thereby inciting mass hysteria throughout the liberal establishment. Prejean doesn't care. She is blazing across the sky, as impotent nose-pickers jockey for a piece of her reflected light by hurling insults at her.

Interestingly, Genesis 19 is not the only instance of homosexual men trying to rape somebody. In Judges 19, a priest and his concumbine staying in the town of Gibeah come under attack by homosexual thugs. Here is the passage:

16 That evening an old man from the hill country of Ephraim, who was living in Gibeah (the men of the place were Benjamites), came in from his work in the fields. When he looked and saw the traveler [the priest] in the city square, the old man asked, "Where are you going? Where did you come from?"

He answered, "We are on our way from Bethlehem in Judah to a remote area in the hill country of Ephraim where I live. I have been to Bethlehem in Judah and now I am going to the house of the LORD. No one has taken me into his house. We have both straw and fodder for our donkeys and bread and wine for ourselves your servants—me, your maidservant, and the young man with us. We don't need anything."

"You are welcome at my house," the old man said. "Let me supply whatever you need. Only don't spend the night in the square." So he took him into his house and fed his donkeys. After they had washed their feet, they had something to eat and drink.

While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, "Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him."

Judges 19: 16-22

As with Sodom, things don't go well for the homosexual thugs. Start with Judges 20 and keep reading:

Yes, as a matter of fact, I did read it and Perez was obviously a judge and he did not vote against her, as the voting is scored, not yes or no. Yes, he gave her a low score, but he was not the only judge to give her a reduced score because of her answer. This does not negate the relevance of the question or his right to ask it. As the contestants are scored on their answers, I think the process was completed according to it purpose.

The fact that Obama and the Clintons have a similar view of marriage does not mean they are actively working against marriage equality. As many people have said before, if you don't believe in same-sex marriage, don't have one.

The fact that Trump decided (as if that means anything in the real world) she should keep her crown is hardly a good indicator of the real issue. Of course he would side with her because it was the most controversial thing he could do. It will keep him, as well as her, front and center, which is where he needs to be so he doesn't feel irrelevant. Did he not support another beauty queen of his after a bender and send her to rehab. (Anyone else notice a trend among these beauty queens?) This is Trump's business, the Miss America contest is seriously outdated and Trump wants to keep it in the headlines. It all makes him money.

The fact that you believe the church should be involved in the state is disturbing and if Palin ever becomes President, I will live elsewhere.

On the issue of the bible, perhaps you only tout the parts that don't include adultery, rape, murder, and incest. It still doesn't mean that everyone in this country believes in or follows your religion, and until this is a full blown theocracy, it has no place in our legislation. If you use your religion as a guide for your life, fine. The minute your religion tries to dictate my life, there is a problem.

Jake is right that the homosexual men of Sodom & Gomorrah tried to rape two men who were really angels in disguise. Here is the passage:

The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. "My lords," he said, "please turn aside to your servant's house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning."

"No," they answered, "we will spend the night in the square."

But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them."

Genesis 19:1-5

Prejean created this brohaha when she immediately blamed the question as the reason she did not become Miss USA. I think the ultimate winner was just as qualified and by saying that she didn't win because of the question, Prejean is demonstrating that she is a sore loser and can't give her competitor credit where credit is due. Other judges have said they did not vote for Prejean, not just Perez Hilton, finding the other finalist to be a better candidate for Miss USA. I believe they were right as all Prejean has demonstrated since the crowning is that she is a liar (lied on her forms), she is a bad sport (not a good role model), she blames everyone but herself for her actions, she is more than willing to align herself with hate groups cause that is what she has done.

She was evidently not happy with her natural self, as the California Miss USA organization has admitted that they paid for her breast enlargements. So how would that have made her a better Miss USA than the one who did win it and who has had the thunder stolen from her win by the one who did not win? Prejean was afraid she would end up nothing but an almost won so she had to stir up this mess just to keep herself in the picture. I have no respect for her as a result of her actions SINCE the competion and am glad she did not win, as I would not want my little grandchild looking up to her as a role model.

Now, can everybody just let her 15 minutes die a natural death like it should have right after the competition?

As for palin- she should just learn to keep her mouth shut as she manages to make herself look worse every time she opens it. She is an idiot and a disgrace to Alaska.

2) Donald Trump has decided it was NOT a breach of her contract. As I said, before, no harm, no foul.

3) We obviously disagree about the separation of church and state.

4) Hopefully, Palin will soon be President of the United States.

P.S. I have read the complete Bible, thank you very much.

Fantastic...just one more example of Palin (just like Cheney and the never-to-be-left-out Trump), trying to remain in the public eye. The bottom line are these few points: 1)Prejean knows full well she is now more well known because she's pitching her public fit of moral indignation. She's going to keep claiming she was somehow mistreated or cheated to stay in the forefront. She is forgetting that this is unsustainable and no one will care when she becomes a historical footnote. I don't disagree with her "right" to be so close-minded. There are plenty who are exactly like her. But to argue that she should never have been asked the question is a bit over the top. She is Miss California, a representative of the state that came up with Prop 8. She was asked a question by a gay man from her state on an issue that directly affects his, and every other gay person's life. Hardly irrelevant.
2) Prejean signed her contract under false pretenses, knowing full well she had posed semi-nude, meaning she lied. Again she is free to pose anyway she likes and then say whatever see wants to, however, this does negate the option of the "moral high ground".
3) This is another glaring example of why there should be a separation of church and state and we're failing miserably at it.
4) Hopefully Palin will also soon be a historical footnote.

Bottom line: People should be treated as equal citizens of this nation without regard to anything else, most especially their private relationships. The moment we allow one religion to dictate the laws and lives of citizens, and we legislate discrimination, we have lost the freedom of religion and the right to call ourselves a free country.

To JakeD: If you want to read some disturbing material, check out the history of the Maccabean Revolf of 166-167 BC, especially the section that covers the forced circumcision of any young male they found. This text can be found the in the Apocrypha of any complete bible.

Just so, the definition of "marriage" has been compiled over years and years of time, the evidence that it works best when it is between a man and a woman, is a "traditional" view - not because "traditions" are sacrosanct, but because most things that were correct yesterday, are correct today.

Your side always claim's its wrong, but can never prove it with a credible argument. And it's funny you lump some irrelevant thing like murder with 2 loving consenting adults.

To those that are quoting sodom, you might want to learn your Bible. The sin of sodom had nothing to do with homosexuality.

The Sodom Story - Genesis 19:1-29
Homophobic Viewpoint: "Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality."
Scriptural Viewpoint: Sodom was a lush beautiful region of land whose inhabitants had known the goodness of God. Despite their exposure to, experience with, and witness of the one true loving Creator, the people of Sodom had rejected a relationship with God, and turned to numerous types of idolatry. When God's messengers were sent to the city, the men of Sodom responded by threatening the ultimate act of violent abuse, murder, disrespect and humiliation. They were going to RAPE God's representatives.

All other Old and New Testament references to Sodom involved the sins of idolatry, inhospitality, indifference toward the poor and the rejection of God's messengers. There are NO REFERENCES to same sex acts or HOMOSEXUALITY.

You can have your personal positons, can even "admit to them" , (NOT IMPOSE THEM) but this chicks contract even had RESTRICTIONS that she did NOT abide with even after the stirred up frenzy erupted.
The MSM media has wrongly mis-identified the reason for a large portion of the "backlash"...it was NOT just her personal opinion...She just did NOT come off as a really qualified representative who could articulate much of anything (like review her news conf with Trump...that was NOT any too splendid an exhibit either and the VICTIMHOOD thingy is REPULSIVE !!!

JakeD: It is not about hypocrisy in this case. Moakler is not saying that it was morally wrong for her to pose partially nude. The difference between Carrie Prajean and Shawna Moakler is Moakler posed after she was Miss USA. She was no longer under contractual obligation. Moakler lived up to her contract. Carrie did not.

It does not matter if they repent or not. Doesn't the bible say something like let he who is w/o sin cast the first stone? It seems to me that everyone needs to mind their own business. If you don't like gay marriage do not get gay married...but where do these people get off thinking they should be able to make that choice for me?

But you raise another example of liberal hypocrisy. How can Moakler demand Prejean be stripped of her crown for appearing in semi-nude photos when she's guilty of the SAME past sin?

I think Moakler is upset that Donald Trump agree that Prejean should keep her crown despite saying that marriage is a "one man, one woman" institution. Sidebar: Prejean's view has been expressed by many Americans, including President Obama.

So, where's the controversy, again?

@shadow_man

Since you're ready to cast stones, let's talk Democrat hypocrites:

*Gov. Spitzer, why did you cheat on your wife while crusading against sex crimes?

*John Edwards, why did you cheat on your cancer-survivor wife while presenting a squeaky clean, pro-family image?

*Mayor Fenty, why can your kids go private schools while denying poor Black kids the same school choice?

*President Obama, why did you run on a platform of government honesty while loading your cabinet with so many unrepentent tax cheats?

*Liberal Hollywood, why do you declare support for "gay rights" while kissing up to countries like Iran that regularly slaughter those of the homosexual lifestyle?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Iran+executes+gays&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=Iran+executes+gays&cad=h

*NOW, why are you silent about the routine stoning of teenage girls in Muslim countries (e.g., Iran again)?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=iran+girl+stoning&cad=h

Bottom line, liberals are in NO position to cast stones due to an annoying habit of ignoring evil due to political correctness. Hence, they bash defenseless women like Prejean for offering an honest opinion while lacking the guts to confront truly "homophobic" countries like Iran.

By contrast Christians like Bristol Palin and Prejean admit their past sins, repent of them, and discourage others from repeating their mistakes.

Palin's statement also said "I respect Carrie for standing strong and staying true to herself, and for not letting those who disagree with her deny her protection under the nation's First Amendment Rights."

Just out of curiosity, I explained the situation to my 11 year old and asked her how the First Amendment would apply to this situation. Without missing a beat, she told me that the First Amendment only deals with actions by the government that infringe on freedom of speech.

I recall Palin making comments about her own free speech rights being infringed during the campaign. Apparently, she hasn't learned any more about the Constitution since then.

Well, the woman is allowing herself to become a tool for the extremist Republicans. Part of their whole PR is that she lost because the liberal whatnot took it away from her for choosing to speak her mind. (actually I think someone posited the situation as she chose to sacrifice the title so she could speak her mind. Does anyone think for a second that she wouldn't have said the opposite if it would win her the title?)

The situation is a bit unfair. None of the other contestants were asked anything similarly controversial. That being said, she said something offensive and that's her right. That judge said something profane. That's his right. Free speech works both ways. It's not like he physically assaulted her or gagged her.

And now she's been picked up by the extremists for their purposes. Although its not like she's innocent in this as a sentient 20 something year old.

But let's face it. The lady is an idiot. I really doubt she understands she's being used.

But you know, we gotta pay attention to white girls with fake boobs. I think the civil rights movement will be fine, though.

Can you believe its legal in five states? I figured I would probably be an old man before its legalized nationally. It might not take that long. This is an exciting time. When that happens, would anyone want to be the washed up beauty queen most famous for landing on the wrong side of history?

I have checked many of the right wing blogs and they don't equal your level of viciousness. When you send your paparazzi out to harass the 90 year old grandmother of Miss California it looks like you have sunk to a new low. Fortunately, many in the gay community have rallied around Miss Prejean, saying in essence, "We don't agree with you but we support your right to say it." As far as Gov Palin is concerned, it looks like her well funded political enemies are out to destroy her, since there have been approximately 15 ethics violation lawsuits that have been filed against her since the elections. None of them have stuck but it does cut into her time to be governor and live a normal life. Remember the damage done to the country when President Clinton was being impeached? Political hate-mongering on either side of the aisle is despicable and Un-American because we are the ones that are being hurt....

I won’t get started on Palin’s children and what a good Christian example she and her family exhibit. Please let them stay in Alaska.

As for Ms. Prejean, parading herself with Donald Trump on the morning news circuit, to deliver a sticky, sweet, interpretation of “the wind blew my small piece of fabric’ that’s how the nasty old photographer got my picture. Honey, grow up – we’re all not as stupid as you think we are. She lied, posed nude and does not uphold her beauty contest contract. Maybe she reaped what she sowed. hmm... wonder if she's thought of that?

She gave her answer to a question and whether that was the reason she lost or not, she lost. Own up to it and stop crying all over the country about how you were mistreated because you are entitled to your beliefs. Well guess what? So is every other human being!

We in Alaska are celebrating the fact that Governor Gump has officially become a Lame Duck, she would not even win the primary so she will not run in 2010. She will soon be DC's problem once she starts her job with Faux News, BYE SARAH and take the First DUD with ya!!

Palin/Prejean 2012

LOL, now that's a ticket I'd love to see --- it shows where the Republicans have sank if this is the key issue that they wish to discuss facing America.

Even vapid beauty queens are right twice a day.

hahahahahahaha, wow Palin and Prejean.

Perhaps it will take another ten years, but some day people will stop listening to vapid beauty queens whether it be Palin or Prejean.

Hey Chris, let's drop this overdone topic for a moment. The big issue and a glaring one is that you can't seem to get a decent headshot. I'm glad you dropped that last one but this one isn't any better. Let me know if you're still looking, I'm one of the best and can make you look a little more engaging, respectful and authoritative. This is a big time newspaper and you need a big time headshot. Pay my expenses to Washington and $500 and lets do it... I don't give many a deal like that.

Prejean was not running for President of the United States.

Sarah Palin is a joke. No more and no less.

"Our Constitution protects us all -- not just those who agree with the far left."

How about from the far right?

We know she lies, is homophobic, and incapable of honoring a contract. Is that the definition of a good Christian these days? Did the Gideons skip Alaska?

I guess they have different standards for role models up there. Then again, look at Palin's kids.

Oh, Ms Palin expresses outrage at "politically-motivated attacks." That's sweet. What was her role in the McCain campaign again? What was it, bulldog? Seems I remember something like that. But my memory of her is fading as she slips into irrelevance.

Could the headline have been something like "Palin Re: Prejean" instead?

So, Sarah Palin jumped on the Prejean train.

Reminds me of the Ojays' song "Love Train":
People all over the world (everybody)
Join hands (join)
Start a love train, love train
People all over the world (all the world, now)
Join hands (love ride)
Start a love train (love ride), love train
The next stop that we make will be soon
Tell all the folks in Russia, and China, too
Don't you know that it's time to get on board
And let this train keep on riding, riding on through
