The Palin Tapes

The slow march to political news domination over the next week by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began in earnest last night with the release of snippets of her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Palin's "Going Rogue" comes out next Tuesday, a book-buying event that may make the "Harry Potter" craze look quaint by comparison.

Here's Palin on the Katie Couric interview:

And here she is on her favorite topic: -- former son-in-law-to-be Levi Johnston:

Fascinating re: RNC and abortion. Let's see if the Palinites weave it into their anti-establishment narrative and become even more divisive than they already are.

There are TVs at my gym for people doing the treadmill. I saw some pics from the Oprah-Palin interview. Only a year since the election and her age is catching up with her fast. Nobody would mistake her for 35 anymore, she's getting quite jowly.

Let's see if the enthusiasm for her "talents" outlasts her looks. My guess is no.

GAT -- 'fascist' -- you forgot that, like in 'socialist/fascist' their amusing nonsensical concoction.

oh hy, looks liike some repugs made at RNC:

A RedState blogger demands the RNC names name and fire people involved in designing (long before Steele assumed his post) its health care plan, and opting in to abortion coverage:

For thirty years, we have fought tooth and nail to prevent our tax money from being used to pay for abortions. Turns out, we were apparently doing it through donating to the political party that was ostensibly on our side. This betrayal is so fundamental to the majority of people who donate to the RNC that it’s almost unspeakable. I have no doubt that many of the staffers there will miss the point, so allow me to make it clearly: you have caused every person who donated to support your livelihood to become involved in what they perceive to be a grave moral evil.

The RNC’s defense thus far seems to be excusable negligence; blaming it on some (surely departed) staffer who checked a box almost 20 years ago, and whoops, we weren’t careful enough. So sorry. It won’t happen again.

Not good enough....

In order for the RNC to regain the trust of their donors, they must disclose the names of all people involved in any way of the selection of their health care plan. And those people must be summarily fired. No severance packages, no golden parachutes; fired. For cause.

No pro-lifer in good conscience can give them a dime until this happens.'

Not really. A few weeks left. I suppose scholarship to you libs is amusing, considering the "professor" you hired that had not a single piece of evidence of any, ever. Imagine that a professor and editor with no paper trail. not one paper, one opinion, one grade, one friend, one colleague. what are the odds?

So you see dear readers, there is something to be said for resumes and writing samples. without one, the guy you hire could turn out to be an utter failure and you could lose your own job, along with a half million of your friends every week. But a "summit" should cure that right away.

going yacht shopping this weekend to let the ideas stew. Unlike liberals, other people can keep more than a single thought in their head and we don't need all our political ideas to fit on bumper stickers.

chant with me now:

hmmmmmmm hmmmmmmm hmmmmm

Posted by: snowbama | November 13, 2009 4:57 PM | Report abuse

there will only be one thought on the voters mind in the next few elections:

NOT Democrat.

And this is really simple enough even for Liberals to understand.

although the implications go further:
Not taxes
not surrender
not humiliation
not unemployment
not apology
not suicide
not cap and trade
not big government
not government health care
not corruption
not incompetence
not ACORN
not friends of the Taliban
not afraid of calling it what it is
not dumbed down education
not government motors
not fundraising forever
not empty speeches
not inflation
not trade wars
not learning as you go
not harry
not barry
not nanny
not chris dudd
not barney
not wrangle
not upchuck schumer
not hillary
not seminars nor summits
not nukes for despots
not wind power in denmark

See how that one little lever can substitute for all those complicated, too dense for liberals to understand concepts?

"What objective knowledge do any of us have about Palin"
-------
This is what I know:
She was a small town girl who was successful as a politician in a small town being elected mayor of Wasilla, though she did leave the town with a 20 million $ debt.

She was successful at being elected Gov. in a state that is known for bucking conventional thought. While there she fleeced the taxpayer by claiming per diem to "work from home" and fly her kids around to events they were not invited to so they could watch their father race his snowmobile. She made some bogus claims regarding "The bridge to nowhere". She came under multiple ethics charges filed mostly by Republicans and endured her harshest criticism from Republicans, with 18 months left in her tenure she quit to cash in.

She was launched into the public consciousness by John McCain and went on to give some of the most hate-filled, vile, lying speeches known in politics. She failed horribly in her media interviews, exposing herself as a person with very little knowledge of the political process, basic civics or geography.

She tried to turn the Vice-Presidential debate into a mockery by refusing to answer the moderator's questions and repeatedly winking at the camera.

To date she has NEVER given a press conference where questions could be asked.

Another thing I know is that to this date NOBODY who supports her has been able to give me one instance of her proposing legislation or even an idea to better our country, in fact no one has been able to give me a reason for supporting her at all.

The R sponsors of corporate rape will have some 'splainin to do'

"When Al Franken ran for the Senate last year, the former “Saturday Night Live” star had to reassure skeptics that the fierce partisan attacks he lobbed at Republicans as an author and radio host wouldn’t define his style as a legislator.

But because of one of his first pieces of legislation, Democrats now have their most brazen attack line of the emerging 2010 campaign season: that Republicans are insensitive to rape victims.

The charge stems from a Franken-sponsored amendment that would prohibit the Department of Defense from contracting with companies that require employees to resolve workplace complaints — including complaints of sexual assault — through private arbitration rather than the courts.

Thirty Senate Republicans voted against the amendment, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, liberal commentators and state Democratic Party chairs have been merciless.

Angry letters denouncing Republican senators have appeared in newspapers from Tennessee to Idaho. Unflattering videos of senators trying to explain their votes have gone viral on the Internet, including one of Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) swatting away a hand-held video camera held by a liberal blogger questioning his vote against the amendment.

And Democratic strategists are salivating at the prospects of using the vote against the eight GOP senators who voted against the amendment and are up for reelection in 2010.

“I think anyone who voted against that has some tough explaining to do,” New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, told POLITICO. “And I think particularly some incumbents already in a challenged position — it can be very detrimental to them because women voters are going to look at that and wonder, ‘Does this senator stand on my side?’”

Successful, yes! She successfully negotiated her book contract before quitting her day job (see above) to "write" it, and successfully convinced right-wing groups to buy up millions of copies before one word of it was read.

Pretty, sure--what does that have to do with anything, except that she'd never been elected governor let alone picked by McCain if she wasn't? And smart enough to mouth GOP talking points and use her looks to get ahead.

I am always amazed at how much output liberals can come up with in the vacuum of no input.

What objective knowledge do any of us have about Palin, some skit on SNL, a few interviews. Or rocking speeches and mass appeal. to jump to any conclusions would be.....well,,,,,,moonbatty.

Obimbo warns us not to jump to the conclusion that the jihadist is a terrorist. why? Liberals need no facts to come to conclusions.

Liberals NEED to destroy pretty, smart, successful conservative women. If only they were stupid, ugly and failures. but then they'd be Democrats.

the simple fact is that Palin was a successful and decisive executive, something Barry still is not. And she has already taken more crap than Barry ever will, yet he is so thin skinned he thinks Fox news is our enemy. If you want a guy who is good at reading speeches and nothing else, you got him.

I presume that if you underestimate Sarah, you do so at your own peril. But this is the story of our time from liberals. Remember Al gore and Leibermann (is he still a dem?)

Remember Kerry and who was that wife cheating, lying scumbag he ran with-----no not clinton, the other scumbag.
those two buffoons were supposed to be so smart they coudn't lose. but they did lose. and later it turned out that they got mostly Ds and Fs in school. I wonder what Barry got? We may never know. I wonder why?

My question is, how does it take $50,000 to vet someone? Also, how can you possibly spend $50,000 to vet Palin and still think she's any good?

Law AND propriety? You sure make it tough, Mark.

Meh, my Sarah Amusement Syndrome is nowhere as serious as my Bush Derangement Syndrome.

TexasProud, I am in Austin and I have met with Goodhair and talked to him face to face. I think he has learned how to speak. He is now an effective campaigner.

I think he must be stopped from using government as his own piggybank and I am a classmate of KBH and a contributor to her campaign. If Goodhair beats her, I will vote for the D. If Goodhair follows through on "Burka's plan", I will support Thune in the 2012 primary against him. If Goodhair wins the nomination I will support the D, presumably BHO. Whatever it takes within the bounds of law and propriety to retire Goodhair, I am for it and I am for suggestions.

Sarah Palin is a religious fanatic. She's a fascist war monger. She's a mental midget. She's a lot of things. But the one thing she ISN'T, is Presidential material.
Sure the American Taliban loves her. But their objective is to overthrow our constitutional democracy.
Its hard for me to comprehend just how stupid and Un-American a person would have to be before they could support the likes of Sarah Palin.

Have you seen Perry speak in person? He's HORRIBLE. Perry has been a mixed bag as governor-better than what the dems have to offer, but he has been definitely unorthodox. He does have a good feel for the state which is somewhat surprising. He is not a viable presidential candidate or VP for that matter. He is smart to have Palin come here next spring before the primaries because she is dynamite in this state

Texas c'mon, you are just jealous.
It is a guilty pleasure, watching the Bush/Cheney party tear into itself,
but it is great fun. Talk about hysterical.

And it isn't petty either, see Hoffman, Doug. Look at Kirk begging for something "quick and decisive" from this woman.
Remember Larry Eagleberger with his foot and mouth disease a year ago October?

Oh no, we didn't do this, Kristol and McCain did this, we are just passive bystanders, enjoying the warmth from your party's dumpster fire.

From The Simple Sarah Handbook:

Page One
Tell a lie often enough and the Faithful will believe it.

Tell a lie often enough and the Haters will say, "That is a lie".

Then the Faithful will shower me with money because I am pitiful.

Did I win now?

You Betcha! ;-)

TexasProud1, the "others" are missing the real story because of their Magnificent Obsessions. This is what will sneak up on them.

It still amazes me how OBSESSED many liberals and some so-called conservatives are about her. This puts Bush Derangement Syndrome or Clinton-Hysteria to shame. Here is something your friends and family should have told you A LONG TIME AGO-"LET IT GO" you are only wasting your time and making yourself look petty, rude, and insignificant. I disagree with Obama on every political stance he has taken-and most of the time it really grates on me-but I am not going to waste every second of my day trying to trash the man's personal character.

After being subjected to the shrieks, whines, bleats, moans, lies, and spew from the likes of Prejean, Palin, Bachmann, Coulter, and Malkin, I long for the days when Laura Ingram was the female voice of the right.

I can't think of a good campaign slogan yet for "Palin/Prejean in 2012," at least not one that can be printed in a family publication like the WaPo.

I'll give this, she really knows how to milk her 15 minutes.

That Miss California racist lady also has a new book out.

This is delicious, is there any way we can make it worse? Or should we just sit back and admire the conflagration, the bonfire of Republican Party discipline.

After months of almost total silence from the ex-governor, I am surprized at how quickly she grates on my nerves again. Spin, spin, spin.
