The cancellation of today's planned meeting between President Obama and congressional Republicans raises real questions about the prospects -- if any -- for bipartisanship on major issues moving forward.

After all, if the top Democrats and Republicans can't agree on a time to talk about bipartisanship, is actual compromise possible?
