The Purple States Project

What would happen if you empowered a handful of citizen journalists to travel the country to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real?

You'd have "Purple States" the latest offering from washingtonpost.com that aims to go beyond the headlines and horse race coverage to explore what is influencing average voters in the 53 days before the November election.

Purple States was created by Cynthia Farrar, a video producer who has specialized in orchestrating non-partisan exploration of important issues using randomly selected "citizen journalists."

Wonder if it is true that the candidate that bumps off mutual opponent wins in November and it has nothing to do with issues and popularity polls?

Apparently the mutual opponent not only exposed corruption within both parties but is wealthy and is presently targeted. Once bumped off, his wealth is easily stolen.

The question is how?

Will the Dems use an OJ Simpson-like, black convict with jail time due? BTW, OJ Simpson is available til tomorrow morning for his own robbery and kidnapping trial in Las Vegas.

Will the GOP use a Guiliani-like mob ties like his protege had and was indicted for up to 140 jail time? Or Gotti, Jr. who is available tonight before his murder trial begins in the morning in Florida?

Will both political parties employ the popular law enforcement practice of 'sweetheart exchange deals' where convicts commit crime/murder, gets less jail time, conveniently covered up and the real culprits are not publicly suspected?

As we share this information, will we too have to worry about our physical safety day by day until the election on November 4? For example, do we have to worry about our jogging in public, shopping, or sleeping in the middle of the night as our habits and plans are well known in advanced via bugging devices in both private and public?

The question is how?

Will GOP use a Guiliani-like mob ties like his protege Bernard Kerik, ex-NYPD commissioner who was indicted for that and may have up to 140 years in jail? Or Gotti Jr. who happens to be available this weekend while he awaits his murder trial on Monday morning?

Will Dems use an OJ Simpson-like convict who happens to be available this weekend too while he awaits his robbery/kidnapping trial Monday morning too? Or any other black convict with jail time?

Will both parties employ the use of sweetheart exchange deals, a popular law enforcement activity where convicts commit crime/murder in exchange for less jail time, conveniently covered up and real culprits not publicly suspected?

Wonder if we too should worry about our physical safety as we share this today as all our habits and plans are known in advanced due to bugging devices in both private and public places? For example, do we have to worry about being bumped off while jogging, shopping or sleeping in the privacy of our home in the middle of the night? Will our car be tampered? Etc. Hmmm......

Sarah Palin has the right instincts: She will order the shooting first and ask Charlie Gibson about the doctrines later.

The Palin Doctrine:

1) Yes it was their fault.

2) Yes they deserved it.

3) Yes I don't care what the doctrine says.

Obama Cancels SNL Appearance

"In light of the unfolding crisis in Texas, Senator Obama has decided it is no longer appropriate to appear on Saturday Night Live tomorrow evening," his campaign said.

========================================

Since it is learned that the actual candidate that bumps off mutual opponent first will automatically win November's elections and it has nothing to do with issues and popularity polls, wonder if Obama's decision to cancel SNL show this morning and head back to Chicago tonight after rally in NH, is an orchestrated public distraction from his specific attempt to bump off mutual opponent in the middle of the night tonight instead?

Apparently the mutual opponent exposed corruption within both parties and is specifically targeted. It is also learned this party is wealthy so this is another motivation to bump person off.

The question is will Obama solicit an OJ Simpson convict type with jail time to do the bumping off? Will the Dem party employ the popular law enforcement practice of 'sweetheart deals' where such crimes/murders are committed by convicts in exchange for less jail time, conveniently covered up and real culprits publicly unsuspected?

Should we too have to worry about our family's safety as our habits and plans are known in advanced via bugging devices both in private and public places frequented? For example, should we worry when we do our routine jog, shop or are asleep in the middle of the night in the privacy of our home?

The joke is that Barack Obama, the racist white--hater and America--hater of 20+ years, now needs the white useful-idiot vote to get elected. I'm always amazed how many white morons there are that defend Obama's racist vile past. I doubt that they'd tolerate it if McCain or Palin had had a 20+ year history of being members and supporters of a White-racist church that was teaching White-supremacy and hatred for all blacks, and hatred for America.

I am enjoying,
how obama has the right
scared to death,
and now Palin
has the left scared
to death.
if either of these
candidates scare you.
You need to wake up,
and not take yourself
so seriously,
and move to the middle.
This is scary,
how it is revealing
the extremist views
among a large slice
of america.

In theory, the Purple States initiative has many things going for it. On paper, on camera, we'll have to see.

When the candidates they interview answer questions with spin, in long-winded paragraphs and rhetoric will our "Purple States Citizen Representatives" be able to say things like, "Hold it please! I don't understand your answer, because with all due respect your answer seemed like just an excuse to talk about something else."

Or will they just walk away and continue to bring us ridiculous commentaries like, "I got spit on when they spoke to me, hee hee," and not focus on the answer at all? Because that's a total waste of everyone's time.

PALIN: FRONT FOR A SILENT RIGHT-WING COUP?

The American electorate has a sad history of voting against its own economic self-interest in presidential elections. That's why Obama's campaign MUST mount an assault on McCain's selection of Sarah Palin:

He'd Rather Win The Election Than Portray The Truth

John McCain ran an honorable campaign in 2000.

He was beaten due to scurrilous dishonesty.

He's learned the lesson well.

He's hired those who did this to him.

And now, they are doing it again.

McCain has said that he would rather win the war than win the election.

In fact, as we have seen time after time this week, he would apparently rather win the election than convey the truth.

This approach brought us George W. Bush--and the dissembling, half-truths, omissions and distortions to come. And the tragic consequences that have followed for individuals and families across the nation and the world.

As Americans, we often have short memories and powerful impulses. We tend to act on the latter. This is why history can repeat itself.

Remember. Remember how riled up by emotion many became last time. By impulse. Without thought. Remember the statements that were made. Remember the realities that followed. Remember.

You can feel what you feel now--anger, aggression, glee, without examination of the underlying truth--for a moment.

You will live for the consequences for years, decades--perhaps for the rest of your life.

Remember the thoughts and feelings that preceded these last 8 years.

Remember.

According to the non-partisan FactCheck.org (http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/factchecking_mccain.html), McCain has strained the truth about health care. About small business. About education. About taxes. About corporate welfare. About energy independence. About free trade.

We've seen this before.

We were distracted from the truth in just the same way before.

And we've lived the consequences--for the past 8 years.

This is the way we need to change the world: By realizing what is true, rather than realizing what emotes us for the moment.

Think.

Remember.

And act accordingly for our future.
