Revisiting the Ohio River Ramble
As many loyal Fix readers know, Jim VandeHei, Chet Rhodes and I trekked through nine districts in the Ohio River Valley over a nine day span this fall.
Here's an update on the districts we visited:
Indiana's 8th, 9th and Kentucky's 3rd districts have all switched from Republican to Democrat. In Ohio's 18th District, attorney Zack Space (D) has defeated state Sen. Joy Padgett (R).
In Kentucky's 4th District, Rep. Geoff Davis (R) defeated former Rep. Ken Lucas (D) to hold that conservative district. In central Kentucky, Rep. Ron Lewis (R) appears to have defeated former state Rep. Mike Weaver (D).
As expected state Sen. Charlie Wilson (D) is cruising to a win in Ohio's 6th District -- keeping that seat in the Democratic column. Rep. Alan Mollohan (D) has defeated state Del. Chris Wakim (R) in West Virginia's 1st District.
The lone Ramble race outstanding is in Ohio's 1st District where Rep. Steve Chabot (R) and Cincinnati City Councilman John Cranley (D) are duking it out.
