Live-blogging the North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah elections

During last week's NBA Finals, we were transfixed by Bill Simmons' (aka the "Sports Guy") live blogging of the Lakers-Celtics games.

(Sidebar: Is there anything better than a Ron Artest interview on live television? We say no.)

Simmons used "Coveritlive" -- a new(ish) live blogging tool to document the games. And so, in the finest "Mikey likes it" tradition, we thought we would try out "Coveritlive" for tonight's primaries/runoff in South Carolina, North Carolina and Utah. (Check out our "what to watch for" piece to get a sense of where to look in tonight's results.)

We'll start live blogging around 7 pm -- that's when the polls close in South Carolina -- but in the meantime take our poll on the race you are most looking forward to tonight.

Obama has been granting benefits to domestic partners - usually on an agency-by-agency basis.

THAT HAS TO BE ILLEGAL.

Obama does NOT have the power to appropriate funds all by himself. He needs Congress to do that.

If Obama has been giving additional benefits to domestic partners without Congressional authorization, that has to be illegal.

THIS IS AN IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE.

IT HAS TO BE.

There is no way that Obama, under the Constitution, can hand out money that has not been intended by Congress.

Obama DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO EXTEND BENEFITS TO DOMESTIC PARTERS.

OBAMA IS SPENDING MONEY WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION.

THAT IS A VIOLATION OF SO MANY LAWS - AND IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

There has to be an explanation why Obama has been so wreckless lately - he seems to be acting WITH NO REGARD FOR THE FUTURE. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY STRANGE HERE.

MAYBE OBAMA KNOWS THAT BLAGO HAS SOME INFORMATION WHICH IS GOING TO BE USED AGAINST HIM, AND OBAMA THINKS HE IS GOING TO HAVE TO RESIGN SOON.

THAT IS THE ONLY EXPLANATION FOR OBAMA'S ACTIONS - WHICH HAVE BEEN WITH COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR THE CONSEQUENCES - FOR A LONG TIME NOW.

You have wasted our evening repeating that Obama lost favor with less than 2 per cent of Hispanics who refuse to be polled in English and not even idenified as voters is a big deal to you. Again irrelevant to tonight's topic and statiscally meaningless.
I am moe interested in the latest polling in the Texas Governor's race now a tie at 43 per cent.

20 per cent of voters are Hispanic and maybe a quarter of them want to be polled of which he lost 20 per cent among Hispanics who by your own admission are not even identified as registered or even likely voters. Obama Approval Rating Reaches New Low: Hispanic Support for Obama Slips, especially among Spanish Speakers
Last week the Gallup Poll showed President Obama down to 46% approval, and 46% disapproval, the lowest numbers since he became President. Among Democrats his approval rating has slipped five points so far this year, from 84% to 79%, and among Republicans from 15% to 12%. Among Hispanics his approval rating is still in positive territory, at 57%, but it has slipped a full 12 points, from 69% at the beginning of the year. See, BWJ, if the rules of decorum were enforced the "conservatives" (I have to choke that out, remembering what conservatism used to represent before it came to mean "mentally and morally retarded") would scream favoritism, because all the people banned would be drawn from the filth.

None from our side do this crap, excepting drindl sometimes repeating her posts in multiple threads, but at least those are coherent. I'd still want that stopped too.

And certainly none on our side seek to jam the board like 37th or firehose it with hate like zouk.

Note that a weekend post, with three days of activity, doesn't even get to the comment count that a middlin' active weekday post once did. All thanks to a brain-damaged drug addict in the grips of amphetamine psychosis, whom CC must dig real special. Think of all those great posters who don't bother anymore, and what lousy trash have taken their place.

All this talk of banning people---on this thread and the one previous to it: if you don't want to read someone's post, pageup for heaven's sake. 37th generates some controversy and gets quite a few responses; that's what it's all about. Liberals can't just have the blog to themselves.

Talk about waterboarding and the Geneva Convention: if you want to test the limits of human endurance, strap someone in a chair and force them to read 10 or 12 of the cut-and-pastes Drindl uses to spam this blog---although she has been mercifully reticent today.

The situation with McChrystal is clear

It is not insubordination - it is normal military talk.

So if Obama can't take it - that is his problem -

If Obama is offended, he is nothing more than a metrosexual who has no business being Commander in Chief.

Anyone ever listen to the Lyndon Johnson tapes ?

They make Lady Gaga look like a nun.

Anyone ever listen to the Nixon tapes ? Geeesshhh.

This is totally ridiculous for Obama to waste ANYONE'S time on an ARTICLE IN THE ROLLING STONE.

WHO CARES WHAT IS IN ROLLING STONE ???

Of course, Rolling Stone is looking for the curse words, the slams - the underside of everything they cover.

This is ridiculous.

Obama doesn't care about Afghanistan - this is about the TARGETED DEMOGRAPHIC FOR THE MIDTERMS - WHICH IS ROLLING STONE'S READERSHIP ?

Obama has really blown it by calling attention to the Rolling Stone article - no one would have ever read it if Obama ignored it.
