As a teacher of American Studies to a class of college freshmen in a university here in Southern Philippines, The Fix articles and commentaries are informative and insightful. Topics about the November election and the efforts of the Democratic party to regain control of Congress are particularly helpful and enriching to the content of my course.

Congratulations on using this blog for your class.
Just make sure that they understand that in spite of a lot of good information and ideas posted to this blog, there are more than a few which have no factual basis, are simply based on personal feelings or are bad data.

Chinese at 2.2 million was a distant second to Spanish at 29.7 million.
