OK JakeD, if you're feeling left out, go ahead and add your name to the list:

the previous failed republican't administration.
the current failed obstructionist republican'ts in Congress.
the treasonous and despicable MUSSOLINI COURT.
the misguided morons who voted for two terms of the worst governance of our Nation ever!

"I wouldn't call it fascism exactly, but a political system nominally controlled by an irresponsible, dumbed down electorate who are manipulated by dishonest, cynical, controlled mass media that dispense the propaganda of a corrupt political establishment can hardly be described as democracy either." -- Edward Zehr - (1936-2001) Columnist

37thandostreet..Maybe if you were here when G.W.Bush was president,to offer your help!!! our country would not be in such a mess...You seem to have all the answers as to what Obama should and should not do.This is America and we should all be sticking together to make things work, which is something that either party is doing. United we stand, divided we fall. We need more mature people in our government who are willing to work together. Both parties have too many criminals in office who are only thinking to get elected into office to fill their obscene pockets with our hard earned money. One is just as bad as the other. The thing we need more than anything is jobs so we can survive without the help of the completely corrupt immoral greedy government We do not want welfare........

We The People say blank Corporations and the corporatists who rode in on them! That includes:

the previous failed republican't administration.
the current failed obstructionist republican'ts in Congress.
the treasonous and despicable MUSSOLINI COURT.
the misguided morons who voted for two terms of the worst governance of our Nation ever!

The corporatist republicant's and their corporate puppet masters have already created a defacto corporatist state in 2000 and in two terms nearly destroyed the global economy. Our Nation has been brought to the very edge of the economic abyss by republican't corporatist arrogance, greed, and incompetence. Anyone who owned a 401k from 2000-2008 knows what republican't corporatist rule did for their future.

This why republican'ts have less credibility than used car salesmen.

We The People have had it with republican't "clunkers".

IMPEACH the MUSSOLINI COURT NOW!

The only thing supreme about this deviant partisan republican't court is its' Supreme Incompetence.

These supremely craven corporate handpuppets have usurped the future votes of all US Citizens and handed our Nations' future elections over to the self serving whims of global corporatism.

This judicial assault on our Constitutional Rights will not stand!

Like the previous administration it spawned, Roberts, Scalia, Alito, Kennedy, and Thomas, have proven to be the worst of the worst.

This abased court will live in infamy!

Because of the gravity of the crime against the Constitution committed by a gang of 5 right wing judicial outlaws on our Supreme Court, two critical action pages are now available:

Action Page: Corporations Are NOT The People http://www.peaceteam.net/action/pnum1029.php

Action Page: Impeach The Supreme Court 5 http://www.peaceteam.net/action/pnum1030.php

By any fair legal definition, the decision yesterday by The Supreme Court 5 constitutes nothing less than an act of TREASON against the people of the United States.

"Thus corporations finally claimed the full rights enjoyed by individual citizens while being exempted from many of the responsibilities and liabilities of citizenship. Furthermore, in being guaranteed the same right to free speech as individual citizens, they achieved, in the words of Paul Hawken, 'precisely what the Bill of Rights was intended to prevent: domination of public thought and discourse.' The subsequent claim by corporations that they have the same right as any individual to influence the government in their own interest pits the individual citizen against the vast financial and communications resources of the corporation and mocks the constitutional intent that all citizens have an equal voice in the political debates surrounding important issues.": -- David C. Korten - Source: in his book, When Corporations Rule the World, 2001

This is Obama's Freeze:

First, last month, he increase all non-defense spending by 12%

NOW Obama is calling for a freeze.

This freeze is a complete joke.

Obama is basically a LIAR - this is a deception of the highest order - against the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

in a sense, Obama has destroyed the democratic party.

If you think about it What is left of the democrat's platform??

The democrats are completely out of ideas. They have spent wildly - and they can not spend anymore - everyone knows that - so what else can they promise anyone ?

Their health care plan has been showed to be unrealistic, and way too expensive. In a real way, Obama's far-left wing health care plan has EXPOSED THE PRACTICAL LIMITS of how far the democrats can go.

They can make a deal with the Republicans, as we have discussed.

Cap and Trade has been dusted by fake data and fake reports of glaciers melting.

So what do the democrats have left?

This goes to the heart of the question of the Independents - what do the democrats have to offer the Independents ???

The democrats are spending madly RIGHT NOW.

All the other aspects of their program are out the window.

So what do the democrats have left to offer the Independents?

Nothing.

Obama has really destroyed the democratic party - there is nothing left to offer anybody.

The destruction is far spread and wide - if the democrats try to offer anybody anything - their offers will be looked at as unrealistic and unreachable.

Obama has abandoned his own bipartisanship pledges on his own - so he doesnt have that anymore.

Obama's pledges of transparency have been thrown out - again by Obama himself.

If there is one thing that Obama is not, is a "deficit hawk" - I mean that is laughable -

The very idea is getting shredded from the right and from the left even before Obama's speech.

No wonder Obama and his White House cronies have been talking gibberish all week - they have backed themselves into a horrible corner and exposed their own deceptions and lies to the American people.

I don't know what to say - but there is nothing left

Nothing.

The WORST thing is that Nancy and Reid forced all those people to vote for health care already

AND Nancy forced everyone to vote for cap and trade too.

What a disaster.

What a complete disaster.

.

Obama is left bare - there is nothing left.

We are sitting here on the eve of the State of the Union.

The democrats and Obama have pretty much decided to mock and harass posters on this blog to the point at which rational discussions have almost ceased.

The health care bill has been reported to be dead - it has been wounded - at any point the House democrats could decided the Senate bill is better than nothing and pass it.

The other possibility is that Senator McConnell and Senator McCain have both said that the Republicans will agree to 80% of the bill - so sit down with them, figure out which 80% (is that 1600 pages?) - and then pass that with a whole bunch of Republican votes.

That idea would solve a great number of problems - including the need to hold together all the democrats - and all the things that Lieberman insists on having can be tossed out the window.

At some point - some night Reid must wake up and realize that compromising with Senator McCain is better than compromising with Lieberman ANYDAY.

Against that backdrop - Obama is attempting to pretend that he is a deficit hawk.

That is a little like someone going on a pie eating binge and then saying they are going to freeze the number of pies they eat at 10 per day.

But somehow, after pushing soooo hard for a year to create a MASSIVE GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM WITH UNCERTAIN TRILLION DOLLAR COSTS, after all that, Obama expects people to believe that he will lead the spending cuts in Washington.

AND the same anger that elected Scott Brown is the same anger that brought in Obama, and Obama is going to lead that anger.

What is Obama going to do now? Copy McCain's entire platform and position papers from last year, and adopt them as his own ???

It really is sad that the State of the Union is a week after the Massachusetts election - and that the administration and Obama have been talking gibberish all week long - funny how these things work out.

I really am concerned that the country is in the hands of these people - they have wasted all year on an agenda which the country did not want - and they could have been working on the economy.

CNN is trying to figure out where the stimulus money went - Obama surely doesn't know.

fair point, i made a mistake in saying "direct donations" to particular candidates. But my point still holds that Hugo Chavez and the Chinese Communist Party - by the virtue of owning corporations in the US - can now spend unlimited money running ads for or against particular candidates. And you won't know which corporations they are without a lot of research.

And sure, the US isn't my country and I don't have First Amendment rights in the US (at least unless I set up a business and open a US office!), but I've been following US politics closely since 1992, so you can't begrudge me the occasional comment. I don't make many. Feel free to comment on Irish politics in return!

By the way, you might not have noticed since I don't post that often, but I would consider myself as a supporter of the GOP, so don't be so quick to dismiss your foreign allies ;)

Breandan_from_Ireland:

Try reading the actual Supreme Court decision. It did not impact the ban on corporations donating directly to candidates. It only allowed corporations to spend money to EXERCISE THE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT to air campaign ads for (or in the case of Citizens United) against specific candidates. Don't worry, corporations still can't vote, they can't hold office. Perhaps you should let us worry about our own problems in this country?

After the past year of attempting to jam a MASSIVE GOVERNMENT PROGRAM DOWN AMERICA'S THROAT, now Obama wants to be a deficit hawk?

What part of that is not believable.

It is simply silly for Obama to try to go down that path.

"How can we keep foreign countries from pouring cash into our elections since many corporations are"multinational"?"

Posted by: JRM2

Yes, I've been saying that. But worse, there's plenty of international firms in the US which are *owned by foreign governments*.

Including the Venezuelan state oil company, and Chinese state companies.

In other words, the Supreme Court just gave Hugo Chavez and the Chinese Communist Party the power to direct donations to particular candidates.
