Prime Time Press Conference Twitter

Las Vegas or Washington, D.C.? (REUTERS/Steve Marcus)

In Las Vegas, people say the best time to be in the city is a fight night -- folks are buzzing and everyone who is anyone is in town.

A night with a prime-time presidential press conference in Washington is sort of like that. (Washington = Hollywood for nerds.) People gather around televisions to scrutinize and analyze the performance of the president and, only slightly less importantly, the White House press corps.

Given the excitement and interest in tonight's festivities, which get underway at 8 p.m. ET, the Fix is live twittering the proceedings. You can follow along with the ten most recent tweets below or sign up for our "TheHyperFix" Twitter feed. (Don't forget to sign up to follow our more laid back "TheFix" feed as well.)

WaPo, aren't you embarrassed. The President holds his first press conference, the country is in a crisis and your guy asks about A-Rod.

And you wonder why people are turning to blogs for information. Did you hear the question from Sam Stein of Huffington Post? You guy needs to take notes.

Did WaPo Fletcher really waste his question with one about SPORTS??? Did he wander in thinking he was in a sports conference?

Frenchie - we don't get it.

He really hedges his criticisms of teachers. What's he afraid of? That the NEA will suddenly support...REPUBLICANS?

Goodness, was he defending his VP earlier? What a weird choice that was.

Since I can't use the American colloquialism on this forum, I'll use the original French term to note that 0bama talks like a man with a Paperasserie!

The Obama First Press Conference drinking game: take a shot every time he says "Elkhart". I'd be drunk after 15 minutes.

"ElkhartElkhartElkhartElkhartElkhartElkhart"

Good thing he didn't go to Athol, Mass.

after watching barack on his tv "fund raiser" just now.. i have only one thing to say.

barack obama should grow himself one of the REALLY BIG AFROS.

i think he would look cool.. of course, the camera will have to zoom back a bit to get all of his head in the picture though.

(o.o) <---- barack "fro dude" obama.

i don't need to see obama's "tv marathon fund rasiser for the stupid" tonight.

just like he's been saying for two weeks.. it's all about, "SHOW ME THE MONEY... NOW!!!

and then the chosen one will start his SCARE TACTICS.. just like george (w)orthless bush used to do... you know.. barack will say the same sh* he's been saying for the last 2 weeks... "you must pass this stimulus bill now.. or this crisis will turn into a CATASTROPHE!" or my personal favorite obama says, "IF YOU DON'T PASS THIS STIMULUS PACKAGE NOW, GOD WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT WITH ME, BUT YOU ARE AGAINST ME!!! AND THE EARTH WILL OPEN UP AND YOU WILL BE ENGULFED IN FLAMES!!"

and then of course, the archangels will come out and start singing 'obama hymns' while the barama dude starts his chanting,
"PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD!" before he passes out from hyperventilating.

like i said, it's nothing i haven't seen before.

*yawn*

Did anyone see Mara Laisson rip Charles Kruthammer a new arss hole on FOXNEWS Special with Bret Baier?

It was the funniest thing since Sarah "hop scotch mom" Palin during the Biden debate, Charley Gibson and Katie Couric interview.

Oh, lets not forget the palm pumping and moose shooting on Saturday Night Live.

Conservative Kruthammer responded to Bret Baiers question concerning Barack Obama's interview with the Arab network to reach out to the Arab world.

As Kruthhammer blasted Obama's interview with this network. Mara Laisson ripped into Kruthhammer's comments.

Mara Laisson approved of the interview President Barak Obama had with network.

She stated that it was a very smart move on the Presidents part in reaching out to the Arab world.

Charles Kruthhammer sat there like a whip puppy...holding back tears...lmao

You have the quote wrong:
Washington is Hollywood for ugly people

I believe is the correct quote.
