Analyzing the David Plouffe addition and State of the Union (VIDEO)

We chatted about the impact of David Plouffe's stepped-up role and what to expect from President Obama's state of the union address with Slate's John Dickerson and CBS' Mark Knoller -- both prolific Twitterers -- earlier today.

Here's the result:

Where did Bobby Clemens go? he was a GOPer who could debate with facts and reasoning, not rhetoric and insults. He was informative, and would accept points offered with facts, and offer some of his own. We all learned things when he was posting. sigh, another moderate GOPer gone from this blog.

Fascinating article on the unification of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.  The abstract:

Abstract. A new kind of duality between the deep structures of spacetime and matter is proposed here,
considering two partial orders which incorporate causality, extensity, and discreteness. This may have
surprising consequences for the emergence of quantum mechanics, which are discussed.

This article is a bit of a hoot.  Not as sober as the previous one, entirely speculative, but the author talks about using spaceborne gamma-ray lasers to create attometer-sized artificial black holes to be used as energy sources.  For those who don't read much physics, black holes "evaporate"; as a direct result of the Uncertainty Principle, the formation of particle-antiparticle pairs in the vicinity of the event horizon can lead to one particle being absorbed and the other escaping, but since information is lost in the absorbed one, the other has indeterminate energy, hence randomness, hence heat.  Stellar-mass sized BH's are actually cooler than the anisotropic background radiation, but smaller ones would be *quite* hot, and artificial ones as described would radiate intensely at extremely high frequencies, power sources lasting for a century or more even without being "fed" with any random matter.

Short article, easy reading, certainly better reading than the trolls.  Since political discussions are no longer possible here with carpet-posting by nitwits, I propose to make better use of the space.

Enjoy!

Remember Pioneer 10 and 11?  These two spacecraft were sent to the outer reaches of the solar system.  Their locations were measured with more precision than any remote objects in human history, down to a few molecular diameters.   Since the positions of every object of any significant size in the solar system are already very well-known, scientists could predict the trajectory of the two spacecraft with extreme precision.  Doppler measurements of the crafts' velocity and acceleration were made, and in both cases it was discovered that the two craft were not exhibiting quite the accelerations expected.

http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/arxiv/pdf/1001/1001.3686v1.pdf

In both cases, beginning about 27 AU out, both spacecraft showed a sunward acceleration (that is, a deceleration in their outward trajectories).  The effect, now known as the Pioneer Anomaly, has been measured as about eight atomic diameters per second.  Doesn't sound like much, but it's well within the margin of error.  The paper referenced above examines several dozen candidates for the anomalous acceleration and shows that non of them, not even all of them combined, can account for the anomaly.

THIS IS FASCINATING STUFF.

It would be one thing if it were just an uncharted object in the solar system, but then the effect would have been brief.  It wasn't.  It increased over time, the further from the sun the two craft traveled, the more pronounced was the unaccountable acceleration.  Every scientist interested in some fringe idea like string theory or triply-special relativity (in which the Planck length and the Planck mass are constant in all inertuial reference frames as well as the speed of light) weighed in with their own ideas.  Perhaps the Hubble expansion is manifest even in gravitationally-bound systems like the solar planets.
Thought someone might like some interesting reading, 'cause that sure as hell does not describe the comment sections of this blog.

Enjoy!

Hearing about the Plouffe hiring led me to think about a lot of changes in the Bush administration.

Card->Bolton
Fleisher->McClellan->Snow->Perino
Powell->Rice
Ashcroft->Gonzalez

Of all of these changes, how many really led to any changes in the culture of the Bush administration? None of them. I wonder how much Plouffe will change the culture with the Obama administration. Probably not much.

The one big exception to the Bush administration was Rumsfeld->Gates. That was huge.

You're wrong, Jake. Word is BHO has heard the "Let Obama be Obama" cry of the people. From this point on, you'll get the Real Obama. Chris Weigant captured this thought in his recent HuffPo piece:

"Bartlet is dealing with (sound familiar?) what to do on gays in the military, an approval rating that is in the high 40s, and of course, Congress. Bartlet is wondering whether to strongly take on the issue of campaign finance reform by his appointments to the Federal Election Commission (F.E.C.). Even more familiar is a line by a reporter in the episode, talking to the White House Press Secretary: "You guys are stuck in the mud around here, and none of it is the fault of the press. I know you're frustrated. But it ain't nothing compared to the frustration of the people who voted for you...."

The line that was most familiar, though, in respect to what just happened in Massachusetts, was in response to the president's "You didn't know it was raining?" where an advisor lamely responds: "To our credit sir, we knew it was raining once it started to rain."

But the real conflict was between President Bartlet and his Chief of Staff Leo McGarry, which resulted in one of the more memorable scenes from a memorable episode of a very memorable television series."

Weigant goes on to quote the lines from the legendary Let Bartlet be Bartlet episode.
______

[Leo puts the pad on the desk in front of the President. It reads:

"LET BARTLET BE BARTLET"

The President looks at it and back to Leo, as his Chief of Staff goes back into Leo's office. The staff are still inside. Leo takes off his jacket and leans on his desk.]

LEO: Listen up. Our ground game isn't working. If we want to walk into walls, I'd want us running into them full speed.

JOSH What are you saying?

LEO: Well, you can start by telling the Hill the President has named his nominees for the F.E.C.

[Josh looks surprised.]

LEO: And we're going to lose some of these battles, and we might even lose the White House, but we're not going to be threatened by issues. We're going to put them front and center. We're going to raise the level of public debate in this country, and let that be our legacy. [Turns to Josh.] That sound all right to you, Josh?

JOSH I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

LEO: [To C.J.] Yeah?

C.J. I serve at the pleasure of the President.

[Leo turns to Sam.]

SAM I serve at the pleasure of President Bartlet.

LEO: Toby?

TOBY I serve at the pleasure of the President.

Obama’s Failed Presidency
Predictive Profile AFTER the Massachusetts Rebellion

Obama's Presidency is in free fall FAILURE.

When a Republican even had a CHANCE in Massachusetts-- the verdict is in on the Obama Administration.

Team Obama was voted off the island by angry Americans fed up with the stimulus waste, cap and trade, obama's incessant asinine attacks on capitalism as he kills jobs, obamacare and most importantly 10% unemployment.

A failed embittered Presidency can be extremely dangerous--
so a profile of Obama's like FUTURE actions is critical.

In his monumental work "Hitler and Stalin" Alan Bullock notes both Hitler and Stalin were narcissists. ProCounsel is NOT stating Obama is either Hitler or Stalin. But his analysis, written long before Obama's ascendancy, is a useful model.

Bullock explains narcissism on page 11:

"In such a state only the person himself, his needs,feelings and thoughts, everything and and everybody as they relate to him are experienced as fully real, while everybody and everything otherwise lacks reality or interest."

Bullock describes the effects of narcissism and provides a predictive model useful for Obama on page 343:

"Narcissistic personalities are convinced of their special qualities and their superiority over others, and any threat to this self image--such as being criticized, shown up, or defeated--produces a violent outrage and often a desire for revenge."

Bullock cites 3 psychological reactions Stalin used to guard his narcissistic self image. Bullock credits Robert Tucker for these insights on page 356. The 3 reactions to expect for the Obama profile would be:

a. Repression–simply blankly deny the truth, no matter how obvious or even if caught on video

b. Rationalization-Admit but use the fault as proof of his zeal

c. Projection-Obama will attribute to others the motives and attitudes he refuses to admit in himself

Don't believe the profile??

Just go back and review Obama's response to the Detroit airplane bombing. Obama went through all 3 stages above and that analysis is especially instructive as Obama was naked--without senior staff. Or use the profile on Obama’s disjointed speech in Ohio this week or the Stephanopolous interview this week, its all there.

Ironically, per the Profile Dems in the House and Senate will be in much more danger from a wounded irrelevant White House than the Republicans, as Obama will deem the Dems unworthy of him--THEY failed NOT him.

the secret code for the state of the union speech

on wednesday night obama is scheduled for his state of the union speech

most likely another mindless rant

but here is the secret code to analyze obama's speech

The 3 reactions to expect for the Obama profile would be:

1. Repression–simply blankly deny the truth, no matter how obvious or even if caught on video

2. Rationalization-Admit but use the fault as proof of his zeal

3. Projection-Obama will attribute to others the motives and attitudes he refuses to admit in himself

so during the speech just hold up the appropriate number of fingers for obama's profile

ps--of course, do NOT use the middle finger.......

re. What to expect from Barack Obama's State of the Union speech.

Comrade Barack Obama's Stand--up Comedy Act (the Obama--worshippers call it his 'State of the Union' speech), will be like his speech that he did on 1/19/10 to the 6th Grade Class, at the Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va. A lot of bulls***, addressed to an audience that only a 6th Grader would believe. This incompetent dope had to use a Telepromter to talk to the 6th Graders there, and he'll use it again in his Comedy routine.
And that's what will happen. It's no big deal. If you heard his bulls*** once, you heard them all.
