DNC transfers $2.5 million to party committees

The Democratic National Committee transferred $2.5 million to its House and Senate campaign arms as well as a trio of contested governors races today, its latest financial investment in the party heading into the 2010 midterm elections.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee each received $833,000 while another $833,000 was doled out to gubernatorial contests in Florida ($400,000), Pennsylvania ($333,000) and Maryland ($100,000), according to a source familiar with the money maneuverings.

Earlier this month, the DNC sent $2 million total to the DSCC ($667,000), DCCC ($667,000) and the state parties of Florida ($333,000) and Ohio ($333,000), and Chairman Tim Kaine has promised $20 million in direct investments to party committees and state parties.

The DNC -- and, by extension, President Obama and his political inner circle -- have come under some criticism from congressional Democrats of late for being insufficiently focused on the coming midterm elections.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs turned what had been low-level discontent into an all-out airing of grievances when he told "Meet the Press" host David Gregory that there were enough vulnerable seats for Democrats to lose the House majority.

These transfers -- $4.5 million in the past two weeks -- seem aimed at quieting those critics.

The DNC's latest transfers will also probably stoke fears among congressional Republicans who have long fretted that the constant controversy that seems to swirl around Chairman Michael Steele will hurt the party's ability to raise and spend enough money to take advantage of a very favorable national environment.

It's worth noting, however, that at the end of June, both the DNC and the RNC had approximately $11 million in the bank.

Gore and Dean tell more porkies than Noacoler and DDAWD, and theirs are much more accessible. Say what you want about Bush; things could have been much worse. We could have had lying low-lifes like Gore, Dean, or Kerry (or Edwards) in the White House---you can't believe anything these guys do or say. Great point - the person who said there is no "hispanic race"

Therefore, there is no racial profiling

Because hispanics are not a race.

It could be ethnic profiling -

But this term "racial profiling" is being misapplied to earlier meanings of "racial profiling.

If the legal aliens are required by federal law to carry their cards, WHERE IS THE BURDEN ?

The answer is there is no burden.

This is the problem with the democrats and Obama - here is Obama's chance to actually BE bipartisan - and support something the other side wants - and what does Obama do?

Obama wants to make a political issue out of it - GET SOME PARTISAN ANGLE SOME PARTISAN ADVANTAGE.

So Obama goes to court - WITH A PARTISAN MOTIVE.

Not for nothing, but OBAMA TOOK AN OATH TO ENFORCE FEDERAL LAWS.

THIS IS AN IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE.

The immigration groups should be more concerned with getting their own people to OBEY the law - rather than searching for ways to have LESS enforcement of immigration laws.

Give me a break.

All of a sudden, the MEXICANS are telling us about Federal/State powers - or the finer points of the 4th amendment.

Well - they are all full of it - ALL THEY WANT IS TO STOP ENFORCEMENT AND AMNESTY.

They don't care about Federal powers, or the 4th Amendment.

They are WRONG on both issues - but they don't care - they have packaged tidy slogans and are pretending to be American.

But in fact, they just want to STOP ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL LAWS.

How American is that ?

The sanctuary cities are the ones who are actually pre-empting federal law with their own version of immigration policies - coddling illegal aliens.

This whole debate has become a big joke,

This is just another issue on which Obama is going to look like a fool in the history books.

Let's see these immigration groups SUPPORT THEIR PEOPLE OBEYING THE LAW - AND CALLING FOR ANYONE BREAKING THE LAW TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY IMMEDIATELY.

These groups are supporting LAW BREAKERS - and they are telling you that they care about the Constitution - IN SUPPORT OF CRIMINALS.

Illegal aliens are CRIMINALS.

That is why they are called ILLEGAL.

While everyone is distracted with race baiting, religion wars and other forms of tribalism as usual, the free enterprise system is profiteering as usual.

But multinational corporations may save us from democracy, you never know. Apart from the martial industries, it is not in their interest to have poor people fighting. Consumption is profitable, poverty is not.

You should read the articles about what Judge Bolton wrote

The opinion states that the law which REQUIRES officers to check the immigration status is on hold.

However, officers still CAN check the immigration status of anyone they want.

Well - I didn't make that distinction - she did.

You should read about this -

No one is arguing that Arizona is making its OWN immigration law which supercedes federal law - the whole thing is over the ENFORCEMENT of the law.

And that is the key.

There is a law in Prince William County, VA which has been in operation for 3 years - the feds never went after that law - even though it is right under everyone's eyes and has been featured in the Washington Post - so people in Washington know about it.

The law in Arizona is good - racial profiling really is not an issue to strike down a law - it is a defense in individual applications of a law.

The federal supremacy - who is saying that ? ONLY the immigration groups who want to EVADE enforcement.

There is alot of double talk from the immigration groups which ALL AMERICANS SHOULD BE OFFENDED ABOUT.

These groups aim to EVADE federal law - they dont care about federal/state powers, or even the finer points of racial profiling.

Their AIM is to STOP enforcement AND AMNESTY.

Start being honest about what is going on with the parties in this dispute.

This is why Barak Obama attacked the Republican SCOTUS' Citizens United decision during his state of our onion address. The Republican SCOTUS is all about freedom, corporate freedom. Funny thing about other countries' corporations though...

Where do you practice law? You better get a hold of Judge Bolton and tell her she's a complete dope, because there really is no dispute, per 37th&O, the idiot savant of the Fix.

Then, you better get in front of the 9th Circuit and the SCOTUS, where I'm sure they will be more than delighted to hear your views of the law.

YouCanPostThis, all - Here is a beginning article on this -http://www.creators.com/opinion/michelle-malkin/the-democrats-foreign-funny-money.html

There are several investigative reporters IN EUROPE looking into this, too, and the lid is likely to be blown off before the November elections. The Democratic leadership is nothing more than a criminal syndicate (so is the Republican leadership, but we already knew that). This election is going to fought in the mud and it is going to be fought over globalization and free trade. Anyone supporting those is in for more trouble than they ever thought possible. There is a ton of money going to candidates from foreign governments, to candidates that they view as giving them the best trade deals, and those candidates are merely being given cover by national party organizations. The money is LAUNDERED and that can be proven. It is a gigantic criminal operation and the roof is going to cave in on quite a few heads.

This immigration lawsuit is an abuse of the Justice Dept - for political ends.

There really is no dispute here - state resources can be used in the enforcement of federal immigration law.

There is a procedure for the federal government to set up arrangements with local officials - the feds can just do that.

The issue here is whether the police in Arizona will be REQUIRED to check the immigration status.

If you read carefully, the Judge said the police CAN check the immigration status -

A little different than the headlines would imply, huh ?

Chris, I have a serious question, because this matter is actually under investigation right this minute. How much of those campaign funds is laundered ILLEGAL money from India and China? The facts are, those *governments* have been funneling money through Wall Street banks and labor organizations based in New York for the past 18 months - millions upon millions of dollars! And it is a FELONY. Take a look at the contributions to Democratic national candidates. The minimum is around 2/3 coming from out of state, mostly from those New York sources. This is the single biggest political scandal in history. Why isn't the Post, or you, all over i?

Not too sure about the gibberish you just wrote.

There is a long history in this country of states assisting with the enforcement of immigration laws.

There is also a long history in this country of states assisting with the enforcement of other laws as well.

So this whole Federal-state issue is much more complex than the immigration groups would lead one to believe.

The immigration groups do NOT want immigration laws enforced at all - they would prefer AMNESTY for the illegals.

The problem is this: the prospect of a potential amnesty has INCREASED immigration - and created an incentive for these people to come here.

That is wrong.

There are waiting lists of people - waiting to get into this country LEGALLY - it is important that those people come here FIRST - and the illegals are sent home.

I have no idea what the purpose behind your gibberish is.

By the way, no one is going to harass anyone taking their kids out for ice cream in Arizona - that is a DECEPTION - Obama should ENFORCE THE LAW LIKE HE IS SUPPOSED TO DO - instead of playing politics with this issue.

Obama's conduct up to this point is an IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE.

Why is it so hard to get Obama to do his JOB?

When George Bush took office, the national debt was 5.7 Trillion

When he left office the debt was 10.6 Trillion.

That is a net increase of 4.9 under Bush over 8 years - an average of 612 Billion per year.

NOW the national debt is 13.2 Trillion - a net increase of 2.6 Trillion under Obama in a year and a half.

The country has to enforce its immigration laws
----------------
ICE deportations have increased dramatically under the current administration, more than ever. Crackdowns on hiring illegals are also at an all time high.

If a person is here illegally, they have to go back.
------------------
Thank you for stating the obvious.

It is that simple - how is it that FOREIGNERS are telling AMERICANS what our Constitution means???
-------------------
Our constitution states that Federal law usurps state law. Immigration is a Federal responsibility. You do support the constitution don't you?

Someone who is breaking immigration law can't scream "racial profiling" - and thereby STOP enforcement.
------------------
No one is "stopping" enforcement, police in Arizona are free to arrest illegals and deport them.

They immigration groups are just trying to STOP ALL ENFORCEMENT - AND MAKE THEIR OWN FEDERAL LAW - EVERYTHING GOES.
--------
Tell us which laws they have proposed?

THAT IS WHO IS TRYING TO PRE-EMPT FEDERAL LAW, NOT ARIZONA.
------------
Again, check the constitution of the United States of America.

It seems as thought the very same people who hate big government want a big government solution e.g. Build a Wall and the very same people who want a completely free market don't want a free market solution e.g. Stop hiring them

It wouldn't cost a taxpayer dime to stop hiring illegals, nor would you have to build an enormously expensive wall and look like Berlin pre- 1989.

Furthermore law enforcement could focus on violent criminals and drug traffickers.

John Kerry may not be able to contribute as much. A tax scofflaw who was caught red-handed, Kerry has been shamed into paying his home state the hundreds of thousands in taxes he was endeavoring to avoid on the purchase and possession of a yacht.

Howard Dean was called out by Chris Wallace on Fox Sunday about the Sherrod incident. He stammered and stuttered like the fool he is when Wallace told him that Fox did not mention the incident nor show the tape until a couple of hours AFTER Sherrod's forced resignation.

As if that wasn't humiliation enough, he went on Ed Shultz's hate fest the very next day and repeated the same lie. Today, he was shown up again. What is it with this guy? Doesn't he realize the media keeps records and videos of EVERYTHING?
