"Worst Week in Washington" winner: D.C. Commuters
Worst. commute. ever.
Those three words defined the week in Washington as horror stories of commutes in excess of 12 hours -- not kidding -- emerged in the wake of Wednesday's snow.
As we write in the Sunday newspaper:
"This past week's snowstorm -- timed by nature to coincide perfectly with the legions of drivers leaving early to try to beat rush hour -- tested even the most committed of Washington's commuter class. Metro buses skidded out; Metro trains slowed to a crawl."
D.C. commuters were the overwhelming winner of this week's "Worst Week in Washington" award.
