Precisely what border are the characters standing on? Which country in the area is not on fire in some way not important to the world's security?

We find out today that our troops were on the trail of Ghulam Sakhi, the senior "Commander" of the Taliban in Logar Province. When our troops ordered all women and children out of a building, Sakhi came out disguised as a women carrying a gun and a grenade. He opened fire and was shot and killed. The grenade detonated and a woman a two children were injured. Can the Taliban be any more cowardly than that? Our troops are in an incredibly difficult situation trying to protect civilians from harm. We are fighting a good fight. To rid a Nation of evil people. The best thing we can do is understand the difficulties our troops face and support their efforts.
