Two Short-Lived Airfare Deals

Carol Sottili

Here are two deals that expire before we can get them into the paper:

* JetBlue has a coast-to-coast sale: $99 each way (about $219 round trip with taxes) from Washington Dulles to three cities in California: San Diego, Oakland and Long Beach. But you have to buy no later than tomorrow. Other restrictions: 14-day advance purchase, complete travel by March 27, fly Monday-Wednesday or Saturday, and Feb. 17-20 blackouts. Go to www.jetblue.com.

* British Airways just launched a three-day sale, which expires midnight Friday. Round-trip fare from Washington Dulles to London with all the taxes is $456, or upgrade to premium economy for $734 round trip (this is a really good deal -- those seats usually cost about $1,200 round trip). Sale fares also available from BWI, and to Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona and Rome. Restrictions: Travel Feb. 10-March 25, purchase three days in advance, $30 surcharge each way for Thursday-Sunday travel. Go to www.ba.com/nowisthetime.
