Dulles Delay Alert

Cindy Loose

Dulles Airport officials warned that passengers should allow extra time when driving to the airport, due to intermittent delays and an overnight closure on the Route 28 North Ramp to Dulles.

Delays are expected today and tomorrow (March 20 and 21) from 10 a.m. to noon, and on Friday the ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., then all other nights until Saturday, March 31 at 8 a.m.

Go here (PDF) for more information and a map of the detour.

Correction: The overnight closing is one night, from Friday, March 30 at 8 p.m. to Saturday, March 31 at 8 p.m. and not each night leading up to March 31.

Cindy, when I read the .pdf it says the overnight closure will occur from Friday, March 30 at 8pm thru Saturday, March 31 at 8am. Your article reads more like there will be nightly closures from the 23rd thru the 31st.

I have family coming in this weekend and wondered if you could clarify?

You are absolutely right, and we're correcting the above asap to make it very clear--after the closings today and tomorrow, there will be one overnight closing, from Friday March 30 at 8 p.m. to Sat. the 31st at 8 a.m.

Thanks so much for yanking my chain, and so politely, too. I appreciate the person who doesn't start out saying: You stupid idiot; how did you ever get the job you have, or any job at all.
