Christmas in NYC: Kitsch and Tell
Few cities drape itself in more garland and glittery stuff during the holiday season than New York. But if you're only there for a short time, how do you decide what to see and do?
For today's Escapes page in the Style section, we sent a reporter to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, which is replete with Rockettes, Santa, the Living Nativity and a 3-D movie. Talk about sensory overload: He came out jazzed but not completely won over by all the hoopla. We also asked a native New Yorker to give her impressions on five other Christmas season cliches-- from skating under the Rockefeller Center tree to tracking down Santa at Macy's -- in the Big Apple.
