The Friday Photo: Pretty in Pink
Ready for the weekend? The end of the work week has arrived, and so has our (and your) Friday Photo. This week, we're tossing a Travel tote bag to Rachel L. Stewart of Arlington, Va., who sent in this shot from the opening day of Washington's Cherry Blossom Festival (it's still going on, by the way, but the blooms are a few days past peak now).

Just goes to prove that you can be a tourist in your own town, and while the picture isn't exactly great art, we love that it captures what this place is like at this time of year. Says Rachel:
This is me in my dark-pink jacket, 30 Japanese women and children of whom many also wore pink, one black dog, and a lilac-clad visitor -- all that pink contrasting against the blue sky, the Washington-white buildings, the nearly-blue water with flecks of turquoise from the paddle boats, and finally the gray pavement. It was a happy accident to discover so much pink, not on the trees!
Now it's your turn. Some guidelines:
1. Email ONE photo per week to us travel@washpost.com. Put "Friday Photo" in the subject field, and include your name, address and phone number.
2. Write a paragraph like the one above explaining what's going on in the picture, when you took it and why it's significant to you.
3. Photos should be from a recent trip, voyage, getaway . . whatever you want to call. But try to keep it within the last month or two or three.
4. Winners will receive a Travel section trinket (totebag, mousepad, etc.). Winning entries are subject to editing. Employees of The Post and their immediate families are not eligible. No purchase necessary.
