Friday Photo: I Scream, You Scream...
Some people swear that ice cream is necessary to life, especially on hot summer days. Regular Travel Log reader Jamie Pearson, this week's Friday Photo winner, took the cool treat's application to a whole new level in Spain this summer. She writes:

"Ice cream was the only thing that made our recent family trip through Andalusia possible. Here is a photo of my kids scarfing the first of two daily cones in front of the Alhambra in Granada (where it was a balmy 103 degrees). The heat made me uncharacteristically permissive the entire two weeks we were there. As a native northern Californian, I hadn't realized it was possible to be that hot without actually being on fire."
Now it's your turn. Have a photo you'd like to share? Here's the scoop (no pun intended):
1. Email ONE photo per week to us travel@washpost.com. Put "Friday Photo" in the subject field, and include your name, address and phone number.
2. Write a paragraph explaining what's going on in the picture, when you took it and why it's significant to you.
3. Photos should be from a recent trip, voyage, getaway . . . whatever you want to call it. But try to keep it within the last month or two or three.
4. Winners will receive a Travel totebag; allow four to six weeks for delivery. Winning entries are subject to editing. Employees of The Post and their immediate families are not eligible. No purchase necessary.

This photo reminds me of the time I traveled from Amman to Jerusalem... with the specific goal of procuring me some Ben & Jerry's. (Yes, I also saw the sights.) Taxi from Amman to the border, visa, and bus fare from border to Jerusalem: $50. A double scoop of New York Super Fudge Chunk: priceless.
