'World's Largest Cruise Night' Sale Packs Savings

Carol Sottili

If you're contemplating booking a cruise, mark Oct. 16 on your calendar. It's the World's Largest Cruise Night, a sales event sponsored by Cruise Lines International Association. (It goes on for 24 hours, but it's called cruise night because lots of agencies hold special evening events.) Last year, about 4,000 travel agents participated, making 35,000 cruise bookings.

Some of the deals that will be offered:

* Complimentary upgrades on all Carnival bookings.
* Discounts of up to $200 per person on select Royal Caribbean cruises.
* Onboard credits of up to $200 per stateroom on Celebrity sailings Jan. 1-June 30 (booking window Oct. 16-18).
* Onboard credits of up to $500 on Norwegian Cruise Line (booking window Oct. 15-23).

For a list of participating agents, contact Cruise Lines International Association. And, as always, compare prices before you buy.
