What's on Travel Bloggers' Minds?

Christina Talcott

Here's what travelers have been blogging about this week... when they weren't blogging about the election:

Virgin Atlantic fired flight attendants who'd posted not-so-genteel opinions about passengers on their Facebook pages.

World explorer Steve Fossett's bones are positively identified at a crash site in the California Sierra Nevada mountains, where the small plane he was flying is believed to have crashed more than a year ago.

Eco-friendly cabs are popping up all over the U.S.

Ryanair's $13 transatlantic flights
are still a few years away.

At least 20 people were killed in a bus fire in Germany.

And the latest economic downturn's giving Argentina deja-vu.

What else are you reading about this week ... when you're not reading about the election?

Hybrid cabs are not eco friendly. What was the cost to the environment to make the batteries that go into a hybrid? What happens to these batteries when the cars are wrecked or sent to the junk yard?

You need to look at the whole picture not the fact they get slightly better gas mileage at a higher cost with a little less CO. But how much Co was expanded for teh batteries and how was thw worker's health effected!

Question: What is a "chav," the term used by the Virgin Atlantic flight attendants to describe their pax? Doesn't sound too nice!

Shep, a "chav" is rich trailer trash (usually with attitude). Think Britney Spears.
