Foiling Fees

Did you see the Onion's story about the American Airline's newest fees? Does it make you feel better about getting charged for phone reservations?
Also in the news, last Sunday's The Ethicist column had a question about avoiding an unbelievably high name-change fee. It made me wonder: Has anyone out there foiled a similar fee?

I think we are already paying fees in the form of some sort of bailout. You know the airlines are next in line waiting for government handouts.
With the child passanger--that name is one of those that can be easily feminized in its pronounciation.
Many parents chosen spelling rather arbitrarilt.

The answer's simple, it's wrong. $700 is outrageous, but at what amount is the behavior acceptable? It reminds me of the (very) old joke. A guy goes into a bar and asks a woman if she'll have sex with him for one million dollars. She says that she will....You know how it ends. It's worse that the writer taught the daughter that her parent can't be trusted. Which lesson will stay with her longer? Business's can have outrageious practices, or my parent let me know early that cheatin was okay?
