Travel Deals: French Riviera, N.Y.C. and More

Carol Sottili

If you're looking for cheap digs in Cannes on the French Riviera, set your alarm for 6 a.m. Friday. Hotel Martinez will begin taking reservations then for its 80th anniversary deal. It will offer 80 rooms for stays Feb. 1-28 at 80 euros a night double (about $109), including breakfast; usual rate starts at about $286.

Among the resorts offering inaugural deals are Bedford Springs Resort in Pennsylvania's Cumberland County, which is now operated by Omni. Rate is $149 a night plus taxes Jan. 18-22 including buffet breakfast for two; room-only rate usually starts at $179. And, on Amelia Island in Florida, several places are offering deals for metropolitan D.C. residents. Addison on Amelia, for example, is offering discounts of 35 percent on stays of two nights or longer, including breakfast and happy hour; room rates before discount start at $165.

New York City's
Restaurant Week (actually closer to two weeks) is Jan. 18-23 and Jan. 25-30. Three-course prix-fixe lunches are $24.07 and dinners are $35 (plus tax and tips). More than 250 restaurants are participating; more than 100 are offering the deal on Sundays for the first time. Reservations are open.
