Say What?

D.W Moffett was added to the cast of CW's new "Born Free"-Meets-"The OC" drama "Running Wild," playing a NYC vet who packs up his family -- second-wife and good looking/deeply dysfunctional teens -- and moves to South Africa because he's tired of neutering dogs for a living and wants to have a crack at the wildebeests. Moffet and the rest of the cast appeared at press tour via satellite from a 1,500 acre farm in South Africa, populated with camera-ready lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, impala, wildebeests and zebra, among other fauna. He had a baby feline of some kind sleeping peacefully on his lap -- and because critics are very cynical by nature and spend too little time communing with nature, some of them began to wonder had she been drugged.

"I examine this young thing in the pilot," Moffett said when asked about the cat on his lap.

"As you can see, I've thrown caution to the wind; I'm acting with animals and children, so -- "

"For the producers," one critic interrupted. "Are you guys going to be importing animal actors from, say, like the [San Fernando] Valley to South Africa, or how are you going go work out that?"
