Press at the Trough

When CBS late night host Craig Ferguson appeared at the press tour earlier this week, one TV critic asked if he would send pizza to the hotel -- like he'd done once before -- during NBC and ABC's day at the tour because, the critic complained, NBC and ABC were not going to feed them.

NBC had a small cocktail party last night and ABC has no evening event tonight, though they did hand out boxed lunches to the press. This is a far cry from the lavish parties all the broadcast networks used to throw for press-tour attendees.

This afternoon, an email was sent from Ferguson's camp to reporters and critics in the middle of the "Lost" Q&A session:

"It's a Great Day for America - Happy Friday Everyone!!...In what Craig Ferguson deems a 'shameless attempt to corrupt you,' pizza and beverages will be provided today at 6:30 pm at the TCA Hospitality Suite/Towers Lounge located on the 21 st Floor. We wish you full stomachs and safe travels as you head home."
