Upbeat HBO Goes On Renewal Spree

"Two years ago we were feeling beat up. Now we're feeling upbeat," HBO's communications chief Quentin Schaffer told TV critics in the network's recent ratings rebound after losing its mojo a while back.

In that vein, HBO suits announced new "Hung," aging "Entourage," and vampire drama "True Blood" had all been renewed for another season.

Network suits did so because "True Blood" is averaging 11 million viewers when you cume each episode's premiere, repeats, and DVR and On Demand viewing. "Hung" is right behind at 10 million and "Entourage" scores a respectable 7 million viewers for the pay cabler.

"Flight of the Conchords" also will be back, whenever musical comedy act Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement notify the network they're ready, HBO suits insisted.
