Kimmel Gives DeLay Grilling ABC News Avoided

After stepping down from "Dancing with the Stars" this week, owing to stress fractures in both feet, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was wheeled on to ABC late-night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in a wheelbarrow -- seriously -- so comic Kimmel could ask him all the questions that should have been asked by ABC news, way back when the network announced DeLay was going to be one of the dance competition's players this edition.

Questions like:

Do you think this will inspire other indicted politicians to dance?

Kimmel also noted:

If, god forbid, you wind up in jail, it's not going to be a good thing for the inmates to see on reruns.

Back when ABC announced DeLay would compete on "Dancing," ABC News show "Good Morning America" had asked DeLay the kind of questions we would have expected to have been posed by a comic/late-night show host. Including:

Why are you doing this?

and

You are known as a staunch conservative, very serious guy -- how do you put the two together?

And, our personal fave:

Are you willing to take the step -- will you go all the way to sequins?

In contrast, here's Kimmel's interview with DeLay (who, BTW, is under indictment in his home state on charges stemming from a campaign finance investigation, has pleaded not guilty, and whose case has been mired in procedural challenges.):

And, just for fun, here's Part 1 of that interview:
