Levi Johnston vs Sarah Palin for custody of Alaska

Levi's re-loading!

Levi Johnston, Sarah Palin's grandbaby-daddy and the bane of her existence, is pitching his own docu-series in which HE will introduce viewers to Alaska.

The news comes just days after Discovery Networks announced that its TLC network would air "Sarah Palin's Alaska" in which SHE would introduce us to Alaska.

Yes, TV is about to erupt in warring Palin-clan docu-series. Life could not get better.

"If I could wave my magic wand I would want it to premiere at the exact same hour, minute, and second as Sarah Palin's does," Stuart Krasnow, the executive producer of Levi's series, told The TV Column.

Levi's show, tentatively titled "Levi Johnston's Final Frontier," is " 'Jersey Shore' on ice," Krasnow said.

We, however, like to think of it as a much hotter "Ice Road Truckers."

Levi and his pals "put jet fuel in their snowmobiles -- they trick them out," the producer said. "They drive Ford pickups. They don't go on the Internet often. That's what we're interested in about him."

Levi, who was foisted upon an unsuspecting public during the 2008 presidential campaign as the fiance of Bristol Palin and father of Bristol's baby, was seen around Los Angeles Monday in an RV that had been gussied up to have "a party-bus kind of feel to it," Krasnow says.

The aspiring reality TV star and his party-mobile were making stops at various cable networks's offices to pitch a series that Krasnow hopes will be around eight episodes long -- just like Palin's.

Monday afternoon, the Johnston party wagon was parked outside MTV Networks' offices in Santa Monica.

Krasnow, whose credits include "The Weakest Link," would not confirm what other, non-MTV, networks were being pitched, other than to say they were all networks that target "younger-skewing networks" -- networks that attract "the type [of viewer] that would not watch TLC or Discovery."

Exact details of Levi's show were being kept deliberately vague, so the project could be tailor-made to suit the purchasing network.

Mothership MTV network, for instance, might want to focus more on Levi's first time on the dating scene in Alaska since breaking up with Bristol, whereas MTV's Spike network might want them to focus on what Krasnow called "the adrenaline activities he has in Alaska with his buddies."

Hey, if it goes to CW, maybe we'll see Levi nekkid on a bearskin rug. And he'll be really buff. Oh, and a vampire.

"Levi Johnston's Final Frontier" was not mounted in reaction to Palin's show, Krasnow insisted, saying it was in the works before the former governor began shopping her program to the networks with executive producer Mark Burnett.

"He's a 19-year-old kid living a life like nobody else's on the planet and in the culture of Alaska -- that interested us. When Sarah Palin made her announcement, we rushed and decided to go out quicker. In a competitive marketplace it made sense, if Sarah Palin is going to try to own Alaska," Krasnow snarked.

"She may try to tell us how beautiful an iceberg is ..... his version might include skinning a bear."

That said, Krasnow said he's going to do a show "that's authentic and real -- it's not trying to just be some anti-Sarah Palin show. That is not our motivation. We're showing Alaska through somebody else's eyes -- the lives of real people in Alaska -- and throwing into the limelight a good guy who is poised and polite; a good kid."

But Bristol's going to get the jump on them both. She's set to appear, playing herself, in an episode of ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," a series focused on teen pregnancy. That episode will air either in late June or early July, an ABC Family rep told the TV Column, but there is no plan for Daddy Levi to appear.

Levi looked the model son-in-law when he was first introduced to the country at the Republican National Convention after Palin's campaign confirmed that Bristol, then 17, was five months pregnant with his child. This continued until about two months after their son Tripp's birth in December of 2008, when the couple split.

Few things in their world are more painful than the realization that an estrangement has occurred between a former future son-in-law and his ex future mother-in-law.

In December, Johnston asked that in December the custody case between him and Bristol over baby Tripp be conducted in public to protect himself from Sarah Palin, who he said was "powerful, politically ambitious and has a reputation for being extremely vindictive."

Palin went on Oprah Winfrey's show and spoke of Levi's "aspiring porn" career (he did shoots for Playgirl and GQ), saying, "I believe he goes by the name Ricky Hollywood now," and adding that she prays for him.

What a coincidence -- so did we! And now it appears our prayers have been answered.

I could only wish that Levi has some video somewhere that shows Palin as her true, vindictive self.

I don't want either one of these 'ho-mongers showing me Alaska. If there are that many people of their ilk up there, I no longer want to visit, let alone contemplate living there.

And I'm sure not going to spend money there so these kind of whackjobs can profit from it.

Absolute precious. While Palin humiliates herself as a matter of course, she asks for infinitely more, and this will do for starters.

I say this with all sincerity as a former Alaskan and as a patriot of the US of A.

Posted by: changeisconstant | March 29, 2010 7:20 PM | Report abuse

Levi is the biggest loser on the face of the earth. Period. And the definitely of a deadbeat dad.

Maybe if he spent more time being a good father to his child and less time trying to capitalize on the fame he got but dating and later knocking up Sarah Palin's daughter, I might have a different attitude towards him.

In a perfect world, the media would chew this chump up and spit him out. But the reality is our media hates Ms. Palin so much they could care less that Levi is a joke and instead they act like he is a legitimate public figure.

Posted by: AverageJane | March 29, 2010 7:29 PM | Report abuse

Can't say I blame him. Sarah sure is cashing in. Palin used her office to try and destroy a state trooper that was her former brother in-law. What she ended up doing is destorying the career of an innocent man who was chief of state police instead for standing up against her. This is a fact republicans, this alone more than anything else makes me depise the woman. A million Sarah Palins are not worth the Chief of State Troopers in Alaska that Sarah through pure vindictiveness brought down. Now Sarah tried to use the media to bring down Levi but the media is not quite as culpable as the average Alaskan though her polls were plummeting finally when she left office. Levi is fighting back and he has one hell of a nasty left hook and Palin no longer can use/abuse her position as governor of Alaska to go after Levi. I predict Levi wins by technical knockout in the thrilla from Wazilla.

At 19 years of age, I wonder where he receives his support from? He will probably make a fortune on the show...all kinds of sleaze sell to those anxious to make a political point, and this kid is taking advantage of it!

Posted by: SeniorVet | March 29, 2010 7:44 PM | Report abuse

Of course, Eric Cantor will see no relationship between his political rhetoric and this man's actions. It is a sad and very bad state of affairs that we have reached in our public debate and discourse.

I am glad to see that authorities are actually going after people making threats against our elected officials. However, I would like to know how many arrests were made as a result of the threats being made against Obama at Sarah Palin rallies in the 2008 campaign. Threats are threats.

It is sad to also say that "what goes around comes around." There are cause-effect relationships, even involving political rhetoric.

If Sarah,Todd and Bristol can cash in, for absolutely no reason, other then she was a vice president nominee nearly two years ago, (big effing deal!)then I say GO FOR IT LEVY! Why not, he as the excluded parent has to pay child support, and that gives him the best reason for making money, as he was dropped by the Palins when he was no longer of use to them. He's the vitim of this money grubbing Palin machine family. I bet Sarah is seething. LOL!

He is a father now. It will be interesting to see what network is interesting in picking up a show about a young father, who believes that fatherhood revolves around days filled with skinning bears and going crazy on snowmobiles. Shouldn't he be getting a career and supporting his new baby? Liberals cheer the Palin antagonist, despite the fact that he is shirking his responsibilities and driving a wedge deeper in his relationship with his extended family. Think of the effect on children, when their father and mother fight continuously. Levi is proving to be a real schlemiel.

I would have rather seen Mr. Johnston's fifteen minutes of fame be over by now. The marketing of Levi Johnston should end eventually and he will have to get a real job. As long as he provides the monetary support to his child through his income so be it. My advise to his handlers is not to put him on Jeopardy.

Sarah Palin is a self glorified ego maniac that is looking to make bank because of her popularity. Or is she avoiding prosecution for the scandal she left behind by resigning as the Governor of Alaska? Either way, there are more qualified women who are deserving and are better prepared to discuss the critical issues confronting America. At a time in which America is in desparate need of leadership we have resigned ourselves to mediocrity. I would almost consider bringing President Bush back from retirement before entertaining the thought of Sarah Palin as a President in any capacity.

Anyone that thinks Sarah Palin has the intellectual capacity to deal with the problems confronting America should have their heads examine or better yet, give up their right to vote.

The Ballad of Sarah Palin (sung to the tune of the Beverley Hillbillies)

Come and listen to a story about a woman named Sarah
Mayor of a hamlet with a coatin' of mascara,
Then one day she was shootin' at some moose,
When the Mav'rick called her up 'n' all her screws came loose.

Oil that is, corporate welfare, Federal subsidies.

Six month's on and the shrew's a millionaire
Lawyer says Sarah quit and go on move away from there.
Said, "On the teevee is the place ya oughta be!"
And they traded in the sled for Reality TV

Hell, that is. Sachs 5th Ave., porn stars.

Now its time to say good-bye to the Palins and their kin
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin' in.
You're all invited back again to this locality
To watch an all-new season of their hostility

Snowbilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?.
