Confirmed: Kate Plus 8 Plus Sarah Palin

TLC finally confirmed its worst-kept secret: Kate Gosselin and her brood of eight children did indeed recently travel to Alaska and did hook up with Sarah Palin, and that get-together will be seen on the cable network.

But contrary to popular speculation, this historic meeting of America's Two Most Polarizing Moms will not be seen in one of those "Kate Plus Eight" specials TLC has been running, in which Kate takes her kids to various places to show them a "good time."

Instead, TLC President Eileen O'Neill told TV critics attending Summer TV Press Tour 2010 that the Palins "graciously shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family," and that campaign trip will be part of an episode of Palin's new TLC series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

Other episodes will show the Palin family salmon fishing.

And hiking.

And "already there have been sightings of brown bear and Kodiaks," she added.

@kenk3

Correction: Anyone who watches that show WILL blow their brains out!

Seems just as the M in MTV no longer stands for Music, the L in TLC no longer stands for Learning. Nothing to inform, educate or entertain anyone on this piece of blubber.

There is no need for violence, not even self-inflicted. Palin fans' brains are already mush.

Oh man, can't wait for this show. Right after the dems get crushed in midterm elections, before Sarah's next bestseller comes out and another huge book tour to "real" America. Obama won't know what hit him. He's trying to defend 9.5% unemployment and 131,000 job loss. He's more delusional than Kate.

Sadly, there are many who wait with salivating expectations that Palin will soon be our savior from the wrath of Bush stupidity, boy are they a delusional group indeed!

Re: Kenk3
you said: "Anyone who watches that show should blow their brains out!"

I totally agree. This is simply the worst kind of mind-numbing trash. Call me a cultural elite but I'm watching the Real Housewives of DC!

What's frightening is that there are actually some Americans who think the former half-term governor of a state with 700,000 people should be president. She'd quit after two years, anyway. "I can make more money on Fox! And Todd still won't have to work."

"...and that campaign trip will be part of an episode of Palin's new TLC series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

Oopsy. It looks like Ms. O'Neill said 'campaign' instead of 'camping'. Just a bit of a freudian slip there, Eileen. We all know the TLC series is nothing but a political infomercial. Glad to see Discovery/TLC finally admit it.

Maybe Kate will run for VP 2012 for the Republican Party. She's about as accomplished as Palin.

I heard somewhere on TV that Palin is getting 1 million dollars an episode for her show. She isn't that dumb since she is able to make this kind of money.

commence eye roll... real bears have a certain dignity that extends beyond pulling down pants for couch potatoes.

Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin together?

Finally, something on American television will make the Jersey Shore gang look bright.

Initial reaction is this is maybe the third best crossover episode in history. It has to rank behind both the Jetsons meet the Flintstones and The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island.
