Britney Spears on "Glee" attracts 13.5 million people

[This blog post has been updated with final national ratings]

After weeks of hyperventilation, about 13.5 million people caught the OMG It's Britney Spears Episode of Fox's "Glee" Tuesday night.

It was the show's second largest audience ever -- just shy of the show's all-time biggest audience of 13.7 million. But that episode had aired immediately after "American Idol" and was "Glee's" much ballyhooed return after a four-month hiatus.

Yes, you say, but Tuesday's episode had Brit Brit! It's true - but not much. Britney was only seen on screen for about 30 seconds of the show, because she was super-busy with....well, we actually don't know what, come to think of it. The episode did, however, include five Britney tunes

The Brit Brit "Glee" episode attracted a lot more viewers than had the show's season debut, one week earlier. That episode clocked 12.5 million viewers according to Nielsen stats.

Next week's episode: McKinley High football hero/glee club hunk Finn thinks he sees Jesus's face in his grilled cheese sandwich.

I like musicals: gLee sometimes, but not so much all-the-time.

The Britney / Heather Morris episode... meh.

Guess that makes me a metrosexual, just not a FLAMING metrosexual:

And how about that amazing product placement for the Chevy Corvette? Mention after mention about how cool sexy the car is, followed by shots of two different corvettes interspersed with....a genuine corvette ad!

Funny thing about the Brittany Spears episode.... the best song was done by Lea Michele who sang a Paramour song.
