Oprah ratchets up guest list for November sweeps

[This blog post was filed by Emily Yahr.]

In case you haven't heard (or won a free trip to Australia lately) it's Oprah Winfrey's last season on her syndicated talk show -- and she continues to ratchet up this season's guest list for November sweeps, the show announced Friday, leaving other daytime talk shows scrambling to keep up.

Big ticket names include former President George W. Bush on Nov. 9, making his second ever appearance on the show and discussing his new memoir; then, Oprah visits President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush at the family summer estate in Kennebunkport, Maine.

A week later on Nov. 16, Barbra Streisand shows up to chat and give a rare performance.

Oprah has also booked Michael Jackson's parents, Katherine and Joe, for an unannounced date in November.

Here's the rest of her sweeps guest list -- (Your move, Barbara Walters...)

Thursday, Oct. 28: The entire cast of "The Sound of Music," including Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer

Monday, Nov. 1: Actress Portia de Rossi shares details of life with her wife, Ellen DeGeneres

Tuesday, Nov. 2: Singer Ricky Martin discusses raising twin boys, and his decision to come out as a gay man

Tuesday, Nov. 9: The Bush Family

Thursday, Nov. 11: Marie Osmond talks about the death of her son, Michael

Monday, Nov. 15: Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah reunite for the 25th anniversary of "The Color Purple"

Tuesday, Nov. 16: Streisand
