'Dancing with the Stars' recap: Brandy sent packing, Bristol survives to finale

By Lisa de Moraes

[This blog post has been updated with news about man shooting his TV after Bristol Palin's "Dancing" performances Monday night. Seriously.]

Judging from the final moments of Tuesday night's elimination episode, things could get tense next week when the winner is named for this edition of ABC's dance competition series, "Dancing with the Stars."

Some studio audience members booed in the final minutes of Tuesday's results show when host Tom Bergeron announced that pop singer Brandy was out and Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol had made it through to the final round of competition next week.

(Actress Jennifer Grey and Disney star Kyle Massey had already gotten word they'd made it through to the final week.)

This tenseness in the studio during the live results show came just hours after a SWAT team had to talk a 67-year-old rural Wisconsin man out of his home when he blasted his television with a shotgun in response to Bristol's dance routines on Monday night's shows.

The overnight standoff began, a Dane County Sheriff's detective said in court documents, when an apparently hopping mad Steven Cowan (of the town of Vermont) decided he'd had enough of Bristol, who is one of this edition's "Stars" because she's the child of a famous mom, Sarah Palin. Cowan believes Bristol Palin is not a good dancer, the Associated Press reported with wonderful understatement.

Cowan loaded his shotgun and blasted the TV before turning the gun on his wife, who suffered a better fate than her TV set. She escaped to safety, the AP reported.

Word of the TV-set fatality had not reached Jennifer Grey's dance partner Derek Hough by the time the live results show started at 9 p.m. ET the next night. Otherwise he might not have looked so visibly stunned when caught on-camera as Bergeron announced Brandy was out and Bristol was in. Also looking pretty gobsmacked were the show's three professional judges.

"This is such a shock!" co-host Brooke Burke said, throwing it to judge Bruno Tonioli.

"I'm shocked," Bruno said. "I want to stress it's very important for everybody to vote. It's so close, every vote counts. I'm so disappointed!" Bruno emoted, asking Brandy if she'd come back and dance on next Monday's performance show anyway.

"Will you come and do it for me, for us? Come on!"

Asked by Burke how she felt, Brandy responded:

"I don't know how to feel right now. This hasn't processed right now for me," a surprised Brandy said.

Bergeron stepped up and hugged Brandy as she began to tear up.

Jennifer and Kyle had gone into Tuesday night's results show with the most points from the three pros after performing two dances apiece on Monday. Jennifer got a perfect score of 60 for her two dances, while Kyle snagged 58 points. Brandy was right behind him at 57 points, and Bristol brought up the rear with 53 points from the judges, though that was her personal best on the show to date.

But that was business as usual for this edition of "Dancing." Bristol, who went into the competition with no dance and no performance background, has consistently wound up at the bottom of the point heap. But, week after week, people have been keeping her in the competition.

Who survives each week on this show is determined by a formula of judges' points and people's votes.

After the announcement, Bergeron asked Brandy's dance partner Maks Chmerkovskiy: "This season struck me as the most surprising in that couples who would get their highest score on Monday night were often the ones who left on Tuesday night. What do you think has been different this season?"

Maks, with uncharacteristic restraint, responded that one thing he loves about the fact that his parents came to this country is "the fact that people vote and their voices count and I love the fact that the show represents that. And it represents the people's choice."

Tuesday morning, the Web site Jezebel linked to comments on conservative Web site HillBuzz, in which people discussed having figured out a way to game ABC's email-voting feature, due to a technical glitch on the site.

"Here's a hint: They don't have to be VALID email addresses to register them with ABC.com, there is apparently no validation process," said one commenter. "They just have to be formatted like a valid email address, and you must use a valid zip code and a birthdate that makes you old enough to vote. No, it doesn't have to be a valid email address - I had one of my anonymous ones XXX@yahoo.com that I used, and then just did the sign-up process all over again with XXX1@yahoo.com and it worked."

"Lord have mercy, I voted for 3 hours online! I got 300 in," said another commenter.

After Tuesday's results show, Hillbuzz posted a screen shot of Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough's reaction to Bergeron's announcement that Bristol, not Brandy, was the third dancer making it through to next week:

"Thank you all for helping Bristol Palin...just look at Jennifer Grey's face... Says it all. Our Bristol is in the finale. The woman impersonating Jennifer Grey looked pissed. [Brandy] is eliminated and hopefully not allowed to drive herself home. How do we win this for Bristol?"

Meanwhile, Mr. Cowan, who was talked out of his home Tuesday morning by tactical officers who'd surrounded the residence, has been charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Or, authorities could just order Cowan, who, the AP reports, has bipolar disorder, to never watch "Dancing with the Stars" again.

There is no way that "no talent" wannabee deserves a place with the talented! If that is what Dancing is allowing ... I am done watching it!

They have lost one viewer. I changed the channel right after they announced Brandy had lost. The judges repeatedly scored Bristol higher than her dismal dancing deserved. The network thought they would gain viewers by keeping her on. They were wrong. I will never watch that show again.

I dont know why everyone is in a frenzy. So the most unlikely got in. So what...she may not be a STAR, and she may not be liked by the leftys but she has been voted in She got voted in. Votes do count. Brandy you are talented and you are a star. It is the Peoples choice.

from canada I am 57 old dancer...today decision in favor of Bristol Palin was a sad day for the whole word of dancing. You can be a piece of 'wood' from Alaska but if 'MOM' is on the floor..that what makes votes...Is very sad for Brandy

I'll never get used to the "that's the way the game is played" type mentality. It reminds me of the difference between an "earned" degree and an "honorary" degree or on "The Price Is Right" when contestant #2 blows contestant #1 out of the water with a bid in excess of $1.00. Everyday we're reminded how unfair life can be. But. . . shame on me for not voting and shame on the Palin camp for voting multiple times. At the end of the day, Brandy still deserved this opportunity. Life is not fair.

I am done watching DWTS. I will not be watching the finale, or any other season. Bristol may be a nice girl, but for 4 weeks in a row the best dancers were eliminated. The cheating by using invalid email addresses is disgusting.

I personally think dancing with the stars should not have invited Bristol to dance. She is not a celabrity. Her mother is a want to be celabrity. Everynight they showcased Palin on the show. The whole thing is a fiasco to promote the Republican party and those tea-baggers. If Bristol had any pride in herself she would have taken her non dancing self out of the competition and take her dumb mother with her. I will never watch this show again........

If one is supposed to be impressed with tea bagger ingenuity in gaming the system, it isn't working on me. I would prefer dance talent and integrity.

Bristol can win the trophy---but there is the age old question: is it worth it if you have to cheat to get it?

Sad for an "entertainment show." If this is ABC's idea of entertainment, I'm sooooo glad there are a zillion other channels.

This whole DWTS is a sort of prelude to Sarah's run for POTUS in that it shows the power of the VOTE and the grassroots outside of the deep-blue LA basin and NYC/DC corridor.
You betcha GOTV is gonna be CRUCIAL to any Palin run for POTUS.

Sarah will run as the underdog against the Evil Machine.

Hahaha.........let's all join in to laugh at the joke. For Brandy to be eliminated from DWTS and for Bristol to remain is nothing short of a joke. So long, DWTS, you've lost another viewer.

There was no way they would let a talented black woman beat the daughter of that inbred Palin. The judges were kissing her butt yesterday just because her moronic mother was there. Now this is the REAL affirmative action at work. Brandy was the only reason I watched this craptastic show.

Frankly, while Brandy is a better preformer her growth has not been as dramatic as Bristol's. I am more impressed that Bristol has progressed from a D+ level to a B- level than Brandy moving from a B++ to an A. In my opinion the show is about growth in dance not the refinement of talent. I am more impressed with Kurt Warner than Donny Osmond - look at where they start as preformers and where they finish. I vote for the greatest change not the semi-pro becoming pro!! God sake it is only a TV show, they are all paid the same and lets just focus on the growth and fun. I hope the young man wins not the semi-pro movie dancer.

I was filled with anger at Brandy being eliminated and Bristol staying!!!! This is RIDICULOUS and so, so, SO disappointing. I love this show and have told everyone how much I love it BUT now I am so angry. Bristol should have left weeks ago. I have nothing against her - she simply can not compete with Brandy. I do believe now that Bristol's mother, etc. have kept her in and in the end this will hurt Bristol and definetly hurt the show. The judges should have much more control of the votes. I can't even begin to say how angry I feel. DWTS's has let me down. I will watch next week and if Bristol wins I am done with the show for good.

I was watching the other day when they showed Bristol being asked about her ex-boyfriend wanting to run for mayor or Wasilla or whatever town in Alaska. Bristol's comment? He isn't qualified to be mayor, yet she isn't a dancer or a star and the tealoonies are at it to make her a winner in that improbable election. What a joke these people are. She is a star because she and her mother got pregnant while single. What great people we have running around this country.

This is supposed to be a dance competition where the best dancers go to the finals. Instead DWTS is being used as a political platform to show Sara Palin's face on national TV each week. Add to that, the illegal votes that obviously got Bristol into the final week. The whole thing is disgusting and I can only hope that Bristol feels like a real schmuck right now. I hope she is intelligent enough to realize that she does not deserve this honor. The similarities between the corruption with voting in our political system and the illegal voting in this show is quite ironic.

so -how are the dancers selected ? Dancing - who will be chosen for the leading roles, the coveted partners, granted access to the select groups... has always been "political", but this dance show has become a fiasco - watch "So you think you can dance" for a genuine talent showcase. DWTS is on the way out...too bad, the pros are being screwed out of a good gig.

I'm a conservative christian further to the right of Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin and I have to say that conservatives and christians have really ticked me off on this season of DWTS. I won't go so far as to say I'm ashamed of being a conservative christian ( because I'm not) but on this season of DWTS, both conservatives and christians have gotten this one wrong. DWTS needs to keep the politicians and anyone connected with politics off this show. They've injected politics into something that should be apolitical. I don't have anything against Bristol Palin, but she should not have made it this far and it truly was a travesty to see someone as talented as Brandy not make it to the finals. It should be between Brandy and Jennifer. I can't speak for those conservatives who voted for Bristol to remain, but any christians who voted for her ought to be ashamed of themselves because they lied to DWTS and to themselves. I won't watch the show anymore if this is what it has come to.

Bristol always expected to leave, but hoped to have the chance to improve. Brandy acted like it was life and death. Brandy was always good and so did not really improve. Bristol did. There is nothing political about that. Probably in the final show it will come down to the star of Dirty Dancing or the very likeable Kyle who has progressed madly as well. Mama used to say. "It is easy to be a good looser. It is so very hard to be a good winner." It is hard to make people glad you won. The only one capable of that is Kyle at this point. No one hates him because of his parents. My heart goes out to Bristol. Win, lose or draw she has stood up to some tough scrutiny. She has learned to dance. She has learned that she can take the heat. Brandy needs to lighten up and return to show business where she will shine forever. Jennifer Grey...so glad you are finding self confidence. May you dance forever. Kyle, honey, I think you may win this.

This is affirmative action for Bristol Palin. She's advancing because of who she is, not because of her abilities. In fact, voters are violating a basic principle of American society - they are penalizing the other contestants, who have excelled and should be rewarded for their efforts, in favor of Bristol, who's less deserving, to prove a political point.

Posted by: AmericanVoter1 | November 17, 2010 1:22 AM | Report abuse

I went to vote, and discovered that my e-mail address had already been hacked and used for voting. Regardless of whether invalid addresses are making it through the system, how is it possible that a major production cannot find a way to use a sign-up system whereby a code is sent to the registered e-mail address and only the authorized user of the e-mail address can vote from the secure link? Preventing fraud in this simple case is not that difficult. The voting technology being used by DWTS is as disappointing as the diminishing value of this "competition" ...

Thank God U.S. elections can't be manipulated the same way DWTS voting can be (except for Florida, I guess).

Luckily, the tea baggers cannot vote for 3 hours under anonymous emails politically. If they think (as some tweets indicate) this is some kind of mandate for SP in 2012 they are delusional. What's sad is that Brandy was totally robbed because of it. Sadly, I can see Bristol winning this due to the gaming of votes. I'm sure this all makes her feel just terrific. The cheating is robbing Brandy of her rightful shot and Bristol of any confidence in herself. Must be tough to be Palin's daughter. You'd always have to wonder if anyone see you and not your mom.

I am appalled at this weeks decision to keep Bristol on the show as are my 89 yr old mother and 90 yr old father!! This is a show we all enjoyed until this week's obvious submission to politics and money.
I am a dance teacher and even considering Bristol's improvement, it does not outweigh Brandy's talent and relative improvement. Politics has no place in this show and only proves to us, once again, that the Tea Party priorities are grossly misplaced. We will will not be watching the show again.

Just like we all enjoyed seeing Kelly Osbourne growing from week to week, we have enjoyed the same with Kyle and Bristol. Excellent dancers have been voted off the show before, and underdogs have excelled. While Kyle and Bristol may not have been the most polished dancers, they were the two stars making the most progress. We have seen the professional entertainers and actors do well; we sort of expect them to, and we are surprised and pleased when the novices do. I came away with the impression that Brandy expected to win. Kyle and Bristol made the season fun.

Posted by: Bjorn3 | November 17, 2010 1:31 AM | Report abuse

Dancing With The Stars is actually to blame for all of this craziness... they reached out to the daughter of a controversial political leader and labeled her a "star" knowing that the show would be running during a highly political time in the hopes of obtaining better ratings. I'm certain that they were completely aware of what would happen... It's just a shame that they sold out that way. I thought the show was respectable until now.

I know that it's just a TV show but the tea party voting up Bristol on Dancing With The Stars is actually eye opening... if you really look at it... this demonstrates how some American people actually vote for our political leaders based solely on the fact that they belong to a certain party rather than their skill set... then we wonder why our government is all screwed up.

Congrats Bristol you win the "ride my mommas political skirt but can't dance worth ship" award! (I would be ashamed if I won a dance competition and EVERYONE COULD SEE THAT I COULDN'T DANCE!) Bristol should not even be competing after all the show is called "Dancing with the stars" NOT "Dancing with the stars daughter"! Politics, Politics, Politics!

I'm a huge fan of the show dwts. I never miss an episode. I think it's wrong that they booted brandy they should of booted bristol instead. Brandy is amazing in all her dances. Bristol well she's an okay dancer. I think the votes have been tampered with because she never leaves. Next week should be interesting cause well see who will win maybe it will be Bristol. Why can't she be the one sent packing.. I'm telling you... You took the wrong person. I'm still a fan but still shocked. I'm a fan of brandy also so to me she's a winner all the way she really didn't need the trophy. Huge fan of jennifer grey and Kyle anyone of these dancers deserves to win.

Just as MP3.com discovered that certain of its members had routinely gamed the system so as to make huge sums of money, I suspect a similar scam is afoot here. Just imagine how many computer savvy right wing zealots, eager to increase the odds of Sarah Palin's election to high office, have programmed multiple computers to automatically generate thousands of email addresses and votes every hour. And DWTS gives them twelve hours to do so! In order to avoid the outrageous inequity that reduced the obviously superior dancer, Brandy to tears, DWTS needs to overhaul its adjudication process; it should allow the judges to over ride the popular vote when it is so clearly flawed, unreasonable, and grossly unfair. In the absence of such safeguards, DWTS will continue to seriously compromise competitive integrity.

As a juror at international music competitions where the public has no role in voting, I can affirm that mediocrities are sometimes awarded top prizes. More often than not this is due to the compromises that inform consensus and a collective decision. In the case of DWTS, which is essentially a popularity contest adjudicated by the public, the three judges are merely figureheads. They have no real authority to determine the outcome, and their role is only to provide droll and entertaining, though informed opinions. That is a great pity, as the victory of a talentless, inartistic, unimaginative and technically incompetent competitor such as Bristol Palin can become inevitable. That is especially true given that Sarah Palin has politicized her daughter's participation in an effort to jump start a burgeoning presidential campaign. Were Sarah Palin a registered candidate, or an elected official, the law would forbid this sort of blatant pandering, just as it did when Reagen ran for office; networks were forbidden to broadcast his films.

There is something sinister and vaguely conspiratorial about this situation that is really quite troubling on more than one level that goes well beyond a family entertainment, and into the political arena. Sadly, it is now entirely possible that Bristol Palin could actually win. If she does, you can be sure that DWTS will be compelled to revise its procedures, lest it lose a large demographic of viewers, and thus advertisers, too, who have become disenchanted with a perceived lack of fair play.

I am appalled that ABC would ruin a fun, entertaining show with blatant political hackery. It is obvious the votes have been illegally recorded...people's accounts are being hacked, multiple bogus e-mail addresses are being used...all to boost up a talentless (though perhaps nice) girl whose mother is a disgusting publicity hound. Bristol may have improved over the season, but it's called "Dancing With The Stars", not "Dancing With The Untalented Child of a Political Grifter."

I have watched this show all 11 seasons...tonight was my last time. I will not watch the finals of such an obviously fixed contest. I have written a letter of protest to ABC...Shame on them!

I want everybody to realize that Bristol may win It all. Its unfair, but the networks are trying to get high volumes viewers, but this may backfire on the network for next season. you know Bristol should have been voted off early on. The judges should have 75% weight of the votes, there for its voted on true talent. In this case is more than an popularity contest. The Palin camp are still up to there unseen corruption in combine with the Republican party. They are testing the system, on DWTS for a WIN to Bristol. If it is successful, and it will be. Then they will use that same tactical strategy in the general election. Well' to let you know this is one of many leaks to come of how they will WIN DWTS & OR General Election. How is this so? All it takes is a couple of hundred of people, thats it. And so the mission attempt is in place. LEAK: Spite Sara Palin Reality Tv show, you bet'cha she will run in 2012. Remember Sara will run the tables but only with a couple of hundred of people. This could be very close or she will Win. Its not about voting, it's about cheating the system. On DWTS the voting system has been cheated. Look at the majority of Who all wrote in shocked and mad, even the news report of shock made Big News. The same thing will happen in 2012. It dose not matter weather some one is for or against Bristol. Bristol may thank she should not of made it this far. She is being used to crack the system in a corrupt way, not her fault. But the Palin camp has it figured out in a sneaky but settled way to Win Bristol & Then Win the Election. Yes Sara has something up her sleeve, this is one of them. Recap, SARA PALIN WILL RUN IN 2012! ATTEMPT TO WIN WILL BE CLOSE OR SUCCESSFUL. IT ONLY TAKES A COUPLE OF HUNDRED OF PEOPLE TO MASTER THIS ATTEMPT. BRISTOL WILL WIN DANCING WITH THE STARS. CORRUPTION FROM THE PALIN CAMP WILL CONTINUE TO UNDERMINE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. This is unfair, Life is unfair but this is welled planed For the GOP. unknown source releasing this information through multiple parties will hold true to render days to come. unknown source 2 will hold to render after Bristol win on DWTS. Both source will appear vea twitter and facebook and you'll have to find. No further information will be giving on this Washington Post to post a comment.

DWTS became a forum for the PALIN machine. Sarah pimped her daughter to keep her name front and center. I am not surprised that the teabuggers resorted to cheating to keep that "non-dancing cow" in the competition( if it is true). If these are the kinds of people that claim they want to take the country back and send it in the "right" direction, God help us, because this country will surely fall.

Posted by: bozhogg | November 17, 2010 5:54 AM | Report abuse

Bristol is a poor dancer who displaced low class sexually explicit behavior--the shimy and actually talked about wanting to shake her booty. This is how a presidential candidate's daughter behaves? And the people who support her are just as ignorant as her own behavior. She is not a celebrity so why she was on the show in the first place is a mystery. Sara Palin will exploit her children or join any cause to further her personal ambitions. The show helped to keep her there because they wanted to increase viewers/ratings. Instead they will loose viewers and the sense that the process made any sense. To maintain any integrity, the show should acknowledge that a serious mistake has been made. And for Brandy's partner, it is obvious that he conspired to hurt her scores by being rude to the judges and create division and anger at her by some of her fan base. He's probably a Palin supporter. We must accept that Sara Palin has a large ignorant and uneducated fan base following her and it is creating a serious problem. She and her friends deserve a backlash. Dancing with the stars is not a political arena and Sara and her crew will attempt to upset and ursurp decency, dignity and fairness to systems. What happened on dancing with the stars is a reflection of the kind of nepotism and politics that Sara practices. She must know that her daughter can't dance.

Why in the world would you do that. Brandy was robbed of her chance to win the trophey. It is no way in HELL that Palin should still be there. SHE CAN NOT DANCE. A two year old could do better. DWTS your going to loose alot of viewers behind this and I will never watch the show again.

Even though I don't watch this show, this entire Palin family spilling into "reality tv" is simply fascinating and quite a portrait of 21st Century America. Yet again, we see proof that "reality tv" is in no way to be confused with reality. And what a perfect reflection on how some Americans vote. Substance has nothing to do with it. Life is just one big popularity contest. Almost like we never left high school. Almost exactly like we never left.

Posted by: curtb | November 17, 2010 6:15 AM | Report abuse

Well I hope ABC and DWTS execs are happy. They turned this show into a farce. The number one dancer on the show for weeks on end was eliminated because of the Palin idiots. The Palin's (both mother and daughter) version of reality has been imposed both during the mid term elections and now on DWTS. Doesn't matter if you are any good at anything. It only matters that you win. Maybe they (DWTS execs) will rethink the voting process for next season.

I am happy that Bristol Palin is in the finals because she is only non-dancer/non-entertainer still in. As far as I am concerned, it should be her, Kurt Watner, and Rick Fox dancing in the finals.

Yes, it was all shocking but predictable.

There are some who stoop to anything to win. Sarah Palin and her crowd have proved that time and time again. Even if it means lying and scamming the system.

Stuffing the DWS ballot box and bragging about it is shameful. Why doesn't Sarah speak up about this? She sure has alot to say about most things.

The person I feel the most sorry for is Bristol. She knows what is going on - she knows in her heart that she did not really win and that Mommy fixed this for her.

Hopefully, Bristol does not end up delusional like her mother who believes among other things (like she is qualified to be the President of the US) that she is a Hollywood Star.

DWTS aside, Sarah Palin is a quitter. In the ads for her reality show, she says she does not want to sit in a political office. True to this, she quit her elected position in Alaska. So why did she ever run for office? Makes no sense.

I simply do not understand the politics of saying no to every possible thing. That isn't conserving anything, just being stupid.

I DON'T CARE IF SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF MRS. PALIN I DON'T CARE IF SHE HAD A BABY AT SEVENTEEN WHAT I CARE IS THAT SHE IS TRYING HER BEST. The point of the show is dancing. She can't dance. But as a member of America's most popular family, she is going to get votes, despite the fact that she can't dance.

It seems a few with misguided votes for someone who can't dance a lick has shown just what the tea people are. ABC saw this coming yet did nothing and it's ABC that will bring a end to a great show. Personally I don't give a tweet what they do now I'm done with dancing with the stars.

Posted by: piemcj | November 17, 2010 7:28 AM | Report abuse

People are rigging the system, but that has always been available and is available for every dancer. It's just the tea party has been advertising this and giving others, who would have stayed within the voting limits, pointers on how to do it all over the net. Bristol is getting a lot more votes but not by more people.
Unless these same people plan on committing voter fraud, it's not going to translate to an election.
What the tea party does not see is how they are destroying Brand Palin. People who didn't really care about Sarah one way or the other are livid as what they see as cheating and rewarding poor performance.
This has alienated millions of independent young voters.
The overwhelming majority of messages on social media sites blame Sarah and the tea party. And so now you have millions of people who could have been won over to Sarah's side who will refuse to support her. Do not mess with American's reality TV. Bristol has made the number one show, the show that beat American Idol last season, a joke. This has backfired big time.

ABC found a new way to funnel huge 'campaign contributions' to SarahPAC, by bringing Bristol onto the DWTS show. Everyone already knows Bristol isn't supporting herself and the kid(s?).

That being said, DWTS needs to be investigated for voter fraud. The show has been rigged from the very beginning this time.

The remaining real contestants should refuse to perform in next weeks finale, in disgust of how fake the show has turned out to be.

In all fairness, you shouldn't be railing against Bristol. All she is doing is putting in a consistent performance, week after week. A decidedly poor performance, to be sure, but she's not personally responsible for the PAC voting that keeps her flailing about onstage.

And look at it this way -- the longer she's busy day in and day out, the longer it will be before she pumps out another "chastity" baby.

What must we do to get a fair chance. There is no way that Bristol Palin should still be on DWTS nor is there any way that she should have been chosen over Brandy who clearly struggled, but with determination and hard work became one of the best dancers on the show. It looks like Sarah Palin has turned herself from a politician into a famewhore and publicity grabber for the Tea Party, and is using her political connections to achieve it. Then again she was never a real politician. She is only a "miss congeniality" who knows that popularity is all that matters in any venue, not real talent. After all, that's how she rose to the office of governor herself. So she is repeating that with her daughter now. How sad that this is the lesson she is teaching her daughter while all the while she is also telling her "she deserves to win". It's all about popularity winning over talent with them. And in the process Brandy was robbed of what should have been hers. How sad that this show has allowed itself to be dragged into this mess. The DWTS producers obviously wanted the publicity in an effort to increase viewership (not that they needed to because the show is popular enough anyway). This time, though, they may have gone over the line. I'm sure they don't think it's going to make any difference and that people will tune in next season anyway. TV producers today bank on the short memory of viewers. And to tell the truth, they are probably right. People are upset now but next year they will be saying "Brandy who?" How sad, really. I agree that the rules should be changed to give the judges 75% of the vote.

EVERYONE knows her face and body got her to where she is!!!! If she were ugly going through the same thing NO ONE would care and we know it. The guy invading her privacy was disgusting but how she exploited it made me lose all sympathy!!!

Poor Brandy.. she should have cried and used the story of her LYING about being married when she had her daughter to save her image combat the unwed teen mom wannabe Mayor baby daddy and grizzly joke of SNL mommy!!! hahahahaha See Brandy NOW a poor image (reality trash stars)gets you the top prize. hahahaha

That sucking sound you hear is "DWTS" and ABC's credibility going down the drain.

But this is America, where a completely unqualified and clearly incompetent half-governor can be considered a serious candidate for President of the United States. So why shouldn't a completely untalented, clearly incompetent dancer not be considered a serious candidate for a TV game show?

Posted by: kemp13 | November 17, 2010 8:34 AM | Report abuse

I cannot believe all the hatred that is on this board and others. Yes I agree that Brandy is the better dancer. But like Kurt Warner said, the playing field is not level dancing wise. You have Jennifer Grey who has dance experience, Brandy who is a musician and uses dance in her performance. Then you have the others who maybe had some exposure in the entertainment field but no dance experience. That is why every week, the announcers say vote for your "favorite" not the best dancer. Maybe ABC should check the background of the Star contestants for dance experience and invite those who have had no dance experience. Then the playing field would be level. I am hoping that Kyle wins this season. I do not want to see Jennifer win. As for Bristol, she is doing her best and has grown as a dancer and a person. As for showing her mother on TV, ABC also shows the families of the other contestants as well. No big deal. Grow up people.

Yes, this is stupid, but I don't think that Bristol herself should get any of the blame. She is doing her best, improving and learning a lot. It must be tough for her to be in the eye of this stupid controversy when all she's doing is trying her best to dance.

She must know that she made it much farther than she deserved, and that (against her will) this has made her a national object of derision. I bet she will have enough dignity to acquire an "injury" or a muscle strain of some kind that will prevent her from dancing in the final, and the show can return to being about dancing. I'm not holding my breath, but it would be a classy move.

That's what I hear from the far right.

For example, "No Child Left Behind". (Certainly conservatives are not going to leave Bristol behind).

So now we have to instruct our children watching the show that it doesn't matter how you score on a test, you can advance by people who can give you pull.

It's not what you know, or your ability, it's who you know, or perhaps your family. (Honestly, same dancer, last name "Smith" from Missouri, she gets this far?) Remember that Johnny.

Remember Jenny that even if people out perform you in evaluations by judges, you can end run them by using you power and popularity.

Too bad if you don't have power and popularity.

C'mon. At least Bristol actually dances every week, where Kyle floats through just on enthusiasm.

Let me just point out that Brandy is a professional entertainer, where Bristol at least deserves "most improved".

If it were just talent, Jennifer, Audrina, and Brandy would have been in the final. In reality, though, Jennifer is in a class by herself.

If you're going to let people vote, you're going to have this kind of thing happen! It would truly be a shame if anyone other than Jennifer won.

This happens every year on this show. I like Bristol. Yes, she is there because of who her mom is, but she is a likeable person. She is the underdog and America likes underdogs, always has. Her and her partner came off as nice and geniune. Brandy and Maks just were not that likeable. The pity me routine did not work because you could see she had natural talent, and I for one was disappointed she did not do better. Was about who you liked. Every season there is a popularity contest on the show, and the bombardment of emails to juice the system. That is part of it, allowing people to cheer on and have an impact is part of the lure. I just think people saw Bristol trying and a true underdog, it makes you want to vote for her, and Brandy as a natural talent that should have been better and was not very likeable (Maks may have had an impact there). If the show was just a dance competition with no upsets like this, would not be as fun. And this is not the first time the people have been shocked. Remember the Cheetah girl that got dissed.

I think that some people are actually voting for Bristol despite the Mommy tea party connection. The show originally began in order to showcase celebrities who'd never danced before and by that definition Bristol fits the bill. Trust me, I was not happy to hear she'd be on the show either, but she doesn't use her mother's infamy to, at least publicly, ensure she stays on. She's very diplomatic about all this. Besides the fact that Brandy had gumby arms in all her dances, she was so arrogant, pretentious and insincere, that I'm surprised she lasted this long. It was as if winning that mirror ball trophy would some how vindicate her. We'll never know now...but, I doubt it.

I was turned off when Maks was acting like a child arguing with one of the judges. I thought he was the professional and as such he should act as one. Because of that behavior, I thought he had hurt Brandi's chances, after all, if Brandy wins, Maks also wins. The viewers punished Maks not voting for him...sort of a like in 2008 the people did not vote for Sarah Palin and McCain but voted for Obama to punish the Republicans, not because Obama was the better man for the job. He had never managed anything, not even a lemonade stand!!, my 6yr can do a better job!!—Back to the show, Bristol may have two left feet, but it is not her fault she still there because she is improving every week even though the judges didn’t want to give her a chance to stay by putting her at the bottom every week and I like an underdog win. Having said that I want Jennifer Gray to win, she deserves it.

Posted by: My2Cts | November 17, 2010 9:10 AM | Report abuse

Judging by the anti-Obama comments herein, obviously, the call-in votes are voting more for $arah Palin than her untalented daughter. Sad to see politics enter dancing contests. Maybe this farce will finally put "Dancing With the Stars" off the air.

OK, I have not watched this show on a weekly basis but when I have in the past, I could see how contestants had lost lots of weight over the weeks. Bristol looks as if she has gained weight! What's up with that?

Posted by: meowomon | November 17, 2010 9:14 AM | Report abuse

Why is anyone surprised?

Right-Winger's and Tea Bagger's are known for elevating all of their mediocre kind to someone prominent.

Every person out there who is voting for Bristol knows damn well, the girl has not danced half as well as many of the other contestants.

But, that's how the Right-Winger's and Tea Bagger's roll in today's competition's. They want to elevate their loser's to the position of winners, even when everybody else in the whole world watching knows that their picks are losers, or are not as intelligent, or good as the opposition.

Posted by: jimeglrd8 | November 17, 2010 9:24 AM | Report abuse

Lets face the truth - she is simply a no-talent wannabe who owes her longevity on this B-list show only to the droves of lemming-like Tea-Bagger followers of her equally no-talent, brainless mother who are complicit in promoting the "Palin brand". This is another effective demonstration of how easily the middle-class white voter can be easily duped. It clearly doesn't take much effort at all.

Posted by: JBGJRESQ | November 17, 2010 9:29 AM | Report abuse

it's hard to see why people are getting so worked up by this. sure it is unfair that the worst dancer keeps advancing, but it is a result of the construction of the scoring formula, which is simple. according to what i have read, the score for each contestant is the sum of the percentage of the total judging points they receive, and the percentage of the audience vote they receive. since the judges score the contestants basically equally, it is up to the audience vote, and for whatever reason, the audience votes for ms palin.

she will win the competition unless the judges change the way they score. if there is a large gap between the performances, this should be reflected in their scores.

folks who have a problem with the outcomes should direct their displeasure at the judges for giving 9s to a dance which should get 3s or 4s.

Seriously, you can just see a bunch of old teabaggers (it surely can't be any young people) sitting at their computer trying to get their AOL navigated over to the ABC site to vote again and again, their arthritic hands sore at all the typing, their Cheeze-Doodled fingers turning the keyboards orange. What sad, strange people.

Yes, I said it!

I'm glad people are finally talking about the real reason Bristol is still on the show. It is not just the support of her mother's rabid fans, but all the bogus votes they are submitting. I was skeptical that ABC would be that "careless" so I checked it out my self. Sure enough, I was able to register with fake email addresses and cast my allotted votes as many times as I wanted to.

I wonder if Maks realized the irony of his comment about his parents coming to this country to be able to vote and have their voices count, when in reality, the "peoples choice" on this season's DWTS is not that different than the bogus elections they used to hold in the Soviet Union. I read a comment by a supporter that Bristol was like the people's dancer - not part of the Hollywood elite. The propaganda they have swallowed is surprisingly similar.

It's not Bristol's fault, but the decent thing for her to do would be to thank those who voted for her, and then step aside and let the real dancer continue.

Haters! Show some class. Typical lib, personal attacks are the answers. You complaint about some tea baggers are voting for Bristol by cheating. Think of this whole thing as when you voted Obama into office he didn’t know “how to dance” (never had a real job) and about cheating: on that election, the dead were voting for him, Children were voting for him, Illegals were voting for him, gee! I wonder who were filling those those ballots? Then he got elected...you gave him the “mirror ball” and what did he do with it? HE DROPPED THE BALL!!! LOL!!

Posted by: cougar82 | November 17, 2010 10:19 AM | Report abuse

I don't understand the hate. You can disagree with ones political view but Bristol is not running for any kind of political position and its not about politics instead it's a dance competition about supposedly stars w/o any kind of dance training that shows the most improvement and gets the most vote. With that said, while Brandy is a better preformer her growth in my opinion has not been as dramatic as Bristol's bec. of her background and that goes with baby from dirty dancing. She has the training, balet background so even though she has some pain she is expected to do very well but has she really shown growth? In my opinion NO. I vote for Kyle bec. he is a star, who don't have any background in dancing and shows a huge improvement and he is very entertaining to watch. So, if you don't want Bristol to win just vote and no need to be hateful.

Or would ABC even permitted such in the first place. Having said that, God is the God of a second chance, and I don't think BP should be penalized for her past mistakes. I, too, was shocked, but I guess I should not have been. ABC needs to take a serious look at how DWTS is structured. Let the voters continue to vote, but give the judges the last say. Just saying!

Remember this as we near 2012: BULLY, CHEAT, RUIN THE CONCEPT OF VOTING, ISN'T QUALIFIED.

DWTS just got bit in the behind bigtime, but they should not be surprised. Little security in the voting system and a contestant that had questionable talent, but was politically connected.

Those who are supporting Bristol may well be making just a raw assertion of power, regardless of there exists an underlying expression of talent. Don't be surprised. That's exactly what her mother is doing.

Will her mother's supporters also be willing to cheat to win? I think we have an answer. Everybody beware -- for some, the end justifies the means. "Taking the country back" is not necessarily a small-d democratic process.

I'll admit DWTS came on my radar screen the last couple of days because of the "buzz".

But anybody with competitive fire in their blood would be furious about how Bristol Palin is advancing.

So the rules allow for popularity to defeat skill. (Bad rules).

But when people are voting hundreds of times and rigging the result, it undermines the American belief of rugged individualism and working hard for your rewards.

It's just a t.v. show, but it still sends the message.....

If you're powerful and advance by pull, it's o.k., but if you're a person from a more average background who outforms that powerful person and you lose, well tough luck. (and in other arenas, they'll say it's you're fault you lost!).

It's just a t.v. show, but people are watching. They're getting the message.

It's not what you know, it's who you know. It's not what kind of game you have, but what kind of name you have.

It will be up to the producers of the show in their next casting decisions to try to find a way to leave out political people and just return to the star format. But then again this is about audiences and who can attract the biggest ones so guess this worked for them.

Hopefully next year the producers will show more judgement in who they bring in - they are also going to be open for ridicule the rest of their careers from their peers. One hopes that ridicule has already started.

As I said before, ABC needs to do a background check on the Stars they invite on the show to see if they have any dance experience. I thought this was about the pros teaching stars without dance experience. Regarding Bristol, she made a bad choice and had a baby out of wedlock. She isn't the first nor will be the last. If I am right, Brandy also had a baby out of wedlock but we don't hear the derogatory remarks about that. Bristol owned up to her mistake and is raising her child with the help of a loving family. I hadn't planned on watching the finals but now I will now that Brandy is gone. I couldn't stand watching her bratty behavior anymore and her dancing really wasn't very good. I was tired of watching her stomp all over the dance floor and then having to endure her fake humility in front of the judges. I pity her partner.

As for Bristol, I'm neutral. She isn't great but is OK to watch and she was on par with the others who were voted off. She has improved quite a bit which is more interesting to watch than pros getting a little better. Reminds me of Kelly Osborne.

Posted by: cjgh | November 17, 2010 12:22 PM | Report abuse

Maybe instead of complaining, people should vote for who they like.

Clearly, Bristol isn't the best dancer on the show. Neither is Kyle.

Jennifer and Audrina were the only real dancers on the show, and Audrina got voted off weeks ago!

Brandy paid the price for being a brat, along with Maks.

Posted by: Benson | November 17, 2010 12:28 PM | Report abuse

I disagree with those who said Brandy has acted as if she was going to win or has had an attitude. Just because she was not complaining that she was in pain or crying for Alaska that made her arrogant? She was focused. And everyone one of Maks partners has fought with him. This may have been the only one he finally got along with in the end. The show is called Dancing with the Stars; most stars have some type of entertainment background. Years ago it may have been ballroom, but not in recent years. Some people just pick up things better than others; it is just as simple as that. Most may not have been sure of that when coming on the show, but gave it a try anyway. I don't think Bristol has improved as much as the others. But I am not surprised at the outcome, people who should have stayed have been either been voted off or not won, Mel B and Sabrina Bryan just to name two. I stop watch seasons ago. I only watch on Tuesday to see the professionals dance.

Posted by: SouthernSweetTea | November 17, 2010 12:32 PM | Report abuse

I find it helpful to remember that DWTS is just for entertainment, thank goodness, and the mirrorball trophy really is rather hideous. Anyone who thinks otherwise is making a mountain out of a molehill. If tea party folks think that voting for Bristol will help their politcal causes, then I've got some swamp land I want to sell them.

The simple solution is just to not watch "reality" television and not give a crap about dancing.

Posted by: ozpunk | November 17, 2010 12:49 PM | Report abuse

It's a joke. I hope she wins and it kills the show. As usual, tea partiers bloviate about ethics and morals, but when it's THEIR person --whether in this, elections, or life -- they're the first to line up to game the system -- and laugh about it. Disgusting and disgraceful.

The name of the show is "Dancing with the Stars" not "Who Tried the Hardest and Improved the Most at Dancing." It is about dancing not shaking your blubber and wearing your fat grandmother's outfits. It's about finding inner undiscovered talent and giving the people a real performance. It's not about pathetic bumpings and bouncing your whoozies to the rhythm. It's supposed to entertain not disgust. I thought...

What a joke. To hell with this show and especially to hell with ABC, for their cynical decision to even put Bristol on and for their pathetic, primitive voting system that was designed to be gamed. Can't even validate email addresses, huh, even a simple website can do that. And just what do Palin supporters think Sarah will gain from Bristol being cheated into the finals? Does it make Sarah a better candidate or does it just point out what an anything-for-a-buck circus the Palin family has become? And you people suggesting that Bristol should win because she's "more improved" - stow that sentimental gibberish, the show is about who's the BETTER dancer, not who was lousiest at the beginning.

Breitbart, the idiot that rigged video and tried to ruin Ms Sherrod, who is black, (they hate anyone who is not white)was going to be a commentator for the past elections, but after multiple complaints, they decided against it.

Dancing is a method of expressing love and passion about something. Some species of birds dance a lot during courtship season, like these ones over here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMbDjNDD4cM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii2D9Bd5OoE&feature=related

BRINGING DIRTY POLITICS INTO A SPORT LOVED BY MANY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD, INCLUDING BIRDS, IS LIKE POURING POISON INTO FRESH WATER THE WHOLE WORLD DRINKS IT IS DIFFICULT UNDERSTAND THE KIND OF MINDSET THAT BELIEVES IT IS OKAY TO SCREW PEOPLE!
Bristol seams to be a graceful young woman! However, I do not believe rigging votes in her favor is doing her justice at all!
The people who did this rigging merely managed to spit in the faces of all those viewers of "Dancing With Stars" world wide, indicating how mean spirited they are!

The show should be retitled, "Dancing with the Has-Beens and Wanna-bes." Some people who get all verklempt over TV shows like this one need help -- and a LIFE.

Posted by: Loryjones | November 17, 2010 1:45 PM | Report abuse

I agree with you pmcphil, I enjoy seeing non-dancers turn into dancers throughout the show. Going from being a B+ dancer to an A dancer is rather unexciting, even if they are fun to watch. I wish Kurt and Rick had stayed longer, as I loved seeing them improve from week to week. Jennifer will probably win in the end, continuing the trend of near-total, boring predictability to the show. And it is, after all, just that -- a reality show. Three months from now no one will remember who won or care.

Not only can Bristol Palin not dance, she isn't even remotely a "Star". The only thing she's famous for is having a child out of wedlock while her mother, who is supposed to be so "Republican", was running for VP. Asking her to be on the show was a mistake in the first place! I thought I would give the show a try to see if it was worth watching. Now, because it has become just like American Idol, I will not be tuning in again. It has sunk into a popularity contest instead of a talent contest.

The so-called tea party needs to be taught a lesson. What they did was a travesty to the voting system if they did what everyone says. Now we all who is against what they did need to make sure the non-talented one do not win. Jennifer Grey and Brandy were the best two this season and unfortunately Brandy is no longer there. Please vote next week and make sure the one with the talent wins.

While I really dont care who wins, I watch for entertainment, I do hope Bristol wins. Why? this is the producers fault, I am quite sure that they got her on for political reasons thinking she would get slam dunked in the first few weeks. After all Hollywood is not the center of Republican conservatism and I feel they were trying to make a political statement themself. If Bristol had been on 2 years ago, yes she would probably have been voted off early. But what the producers didnt count on was a republican surge in this last election and it has carried over to the dance floor. It has backfired in their faces and they deserve it

One added note: Bristol was only on because of her mother, period. No other average girl would have been asked to do this on national tv. I can just hear the liberal brand trust of DWTS. "Hey lets get Sarah Palins daughter on here and see how quickly she goes home" - Didnt work. There is no other logicial reason for Bristol Palin to be on DWTS other than the political views of the show.

I will say it again. This is NOT Bristols fault, this is the fault of DWTS for wishing to express their political views. If Bristol had been voted off the first week they would have been laughing in their offices.. Now they are worried. Bristol has no reason to walk off the show, absolutely none

I look at it like this- this is Obama-nomics mentality. Take from those who have worked and earned their way and give to those less fortunate who have not. Funny that the Tea Party is being accused of "redistribution of fame". You are all so self righteous and mortified that voting counts for something. News Flash- Voting influences our world. Sore losers ALWAYS say the voting is rigged or had a "glitch" I wonder how you will feel as our future "redistribution of wealth" exacts the same thing on the US as you claim "the Conspiracy" has effected DWTS?

What the most qualified didn't win? Were any of you at the last Presidential election? Personalities count.

ABC got caught with their pants down and I'm guessing their programmers will be working 24/7 to fix this before next week. The show is too valuable.

If anyone remembers the first season of DWTS, Kelly Monaco (an ABC soap star) won the competition in what appeared to be a manipulated unrealistic come-from-behind victory. ABC had a 'make-up' show where the viewers voted. And they've been careful ever since.

My opinion is that the whole show is out right rigged as far as the judges are concerned & they were absolutely shocked when their "favorite" Brandy was eliminated in the favor of Bristol.
Bristol has always been a "lady", showing good sportmansship & not acting like a spoiled diva - unlike Brandy & Jennifer who did that over & over. Had Bristol been voted off the show I certainly would have been voting for Kyle to win & not either one of them just for that reason - and he most definitely cannot dance.

How disappointing to see Brandy and others that were clearly better dancers and entertainers voted off the show before Bristol. Brandy, the majority of people I spoke with feel the same way. Bristol has improved from week one but clearly not enough to be where she is today. Bristol is in the finals for one reason only, it is her mom Sarah Palin flexing her political muscle and organizing her political followers to vote for her daughter. Sarah should be ashamed for high-jacking the show. This is all about Sarah Palin who will do anything for her daughter to be the winner next week. This is a good example as to how our government works. Politicians spend the majority of their time in office campaigning, lobbying and fundraising to remain in power. This is the #1 priority on their list. Don't you wish they would spend as much time and passion working on behalf of the people? The world would be in a better place right now.
The stunned faces of everyone on the show told the whole story. My friend and I watch the show together every week and are very upset about the dynamics that are playing out on the show. Instead of being excited we are saddened and very concerned for a fair outcome next week. I hope the network learned that politicians have no place on
DWTS. While the TV ratings are off the chart this year for the network, they may be surprised next season when celebs watching the show this season may not be interested in participating and viewers are still reeling about the unfortuante outcome that seems inevitable to happen next week. Sarah, you lost the respect of many watching this show. We may forgive but we will not forget. You should have let your daughter stand on her own merit without your interference. I am not watching the show to see you so involved in the weekly segments. As a citizens advocate and polical watchdog who volunteers a lot of time to help others, this is where your organizing efforts should be spent. Get your Tea Pary followers to spend their campaign money and volunteer their time in their local communities.
I ask those reading the blogs to vote next week and lets make sure Bristol does not win unless she clearly has earned it. We have an opportunity to make this wrong situation right. Thanks!!!

Some of these responses to Bristol winning over more talented Brandy are hilarious. I suspect people need a diversion over the state of the economy and have misplaced anger but I am not a Therapist.
My top ten favorites, all in jesting.

1). Where is Kayne West and Ashton Kusher cause DANCING WITH THE STARS FANS JUST GOT PUNK'D?.

2). Brandy just got more PR and support than if she had won the grand prize. SHe should be laughing not crying!

3). All these rightwingers now denouncing free speech when the shoe is on the other foot. It was not that long ago that Sarah Palin defended Radio Talk Show Host for using the N...word 11 times to make a point to a caller that blacks use the word too.

4). Bristol and Sarah Palin are proud Christians yet Sarah applauds her daughters dirty dancing and sexual grinding and bumping. Would Jesus approve.
Inquiry minds what to know why Christian tea partys are supporting this and rising to her defense. WWJD? Heard he was against all hyprocrites.

5). Bristol could not dance well and anyone can see she even walked at times instead of dancing.

6). They need a mother and daughter talk show not the office of the Presidency.

7) Bristol is likable and should win but so is my dog spot but that does not mean he can dance

This show is a joke! My friends and I will not waste our time watching DWTS again. It's not a dance contest--it's a popularity contest. Why even put the dancers through the pain of learning the routines? Why not just parade them around on stage and then vote? Why even have judges? This isn't the first time the best dancers didn't win. This is the worst! Bristol should have been voted off long ago. She was criticized every week and she wins over Brandy and Maxx? Come on--she was terrible! I'm sure Skating with the Stars will be more of the same...Don't waste your time.

To some of you whom is determine to justify Bristol still being in competition. People are mad because it is an injustice to the dancers who is more qualified. We as the people have a right to be angry. It is our viewing of this show that keeps it on. Not so much as attacking Bristol as a person, but her skills as a dancer. The girl is the stiffest no dancing teen ager I have ever seen. She move her legs as if they're logs and have no movement in her upward body. I knew the show was being rigged when Bristol wasn't voted off weeks ago. How about the judges always giving her compliments when they critize better dancers. I can't imagine what kind of people stand behind her or her mother. Sarah Palin is a nitwit that should have never been elected for anything. The whole family belong in a trailer park in the middle of a zoo. DWTS you have truly messed up this time. I know for one I will never watch your show again. I know millions feel the same way I do. Don't forget, we the viewers made your show. We the viewers will unmake your show.

Hillbuzz.com is congratulating the voters for Bristol Palin who have used illegal measures to boost her tally while truly talented dancers have left the show prematurely. The Tea Party loonies are rejoicing that they were able to vote off Brandy, resulting in the less than mediocre Bristol being in the finals.

I feel certain that the Palins were aware of this dishonesty in the voting. This family has exploited the American public since John McCain made the faux pas of the century. An uninformed, poorly educated, classless Sarah, who captured the small minds of the right, took expensive designer clothing for the entire family during the 2008 campaign. Then came the book, the speeches, Bristol's paid interviews about her "engagement to Levi", the TV reality show, and then Bristol's selection as a participant on Dancing with the Stars, where she has received hefty weekly checks. I am sure that all of America's unwed teen mothers who had to drop out of high school would love such assistance.

It has been said that if you did not vote, you do not have the right to complain
I cast my votes for Brandy so I guess I have the right to speak. Not only will I not continue to watch this ABC show, I will not buy products of the sponsors if the voting situation is not immediately investigated and rectified.

I agree with most commenters who feel the voting has been rigged on DWTS re: Bristol Palin, of whom should of never been a contestant on the show, as she does not fit the dictionary or people's definition of being a "star" or a "celebrity". Her wacko mom is the media slug, not any of her offspring, who have shown they have not been raised well at all by their parents, as noted by their actions in real life and on Facebook.
-Bristol has consistently gotten the lowest scores each week by the judges, which should tell the public how good of a dancer she really is.
I also will not endorse any sponsors of ABC, nor watch any of their shows due to this gross injustice to what "DWTS" is supposed to be about and who the contestants should be.
-Bristol should be tossed off the show and sent packing back to her mom's house in Alaska and raise her child. But I guess it's "like Mother, like Daughtesr"..as her 16 yr old sister Willow showed on Facebook, besides Bristol herself.
-I will also switch to the Democratic party as I don't want to be associated with "cheaters" as the GOP and TEA party members have been block voting to move Bristol along. I stumbled upon how this could be done and was outraged!!
