George Lopez's guest list smacks down Conan's
Is it just us, or did George Lopez totally outgun Conan O'Brien, guest-list-wise, for Conan's first week taking Lopez's timeslot on TBS?
Lopez is being moved to midnight to clear out his current timeslot for Conan who, according to a new interview in Rolling Stone, is still whining about his short-lived gig as host of "Tonight Show" on NBC - from which he walked when NBC said they wanted to move his show to midnight so they clear out his timeslot for Jay Leno.
Lopez on Friday announced guests for the week of Nov. 8 - the week he moves to midnight:
Monday - Janet Jackson, and latest overnight online sensation Antoine Dodson [see video below]
Tuesday - Jamie Foxx, and "Glee's" Jayma Mays
Wednesday - Howie Mandel, and musical guest DMX
Thursday - Denzel Washington, Hilary Duff, and comedian Russell Peters
Two weeks ago, Team Coco announced his first week of guests will kick off with with laughs-at-his-own jokes comic-turned-actor Seth Rogen, who his starring in a big-budget adaptation of the cult '60s TV show "Green Hornet" (based on a '30s radio serial), which
a) Has been in the works since 2000
b) Was in development at Universal and Miramax for years before that
c) At one time had George Clooney attached to play the title role
d) Has had its launch date pushed back at least twice
All this according to trade paper Variety and none of which sounds promising.
Tuesday night, Conan has booked Tom Hanks who was Conan's guest his second night as host of "Tonght Show."
The rest of Coco's guest lineup looks pretty pedestrian:
*Jon Hamm ("Mad Men")
*Charlyne Yi ("Knocked Up," "Paper Heart")
*Michael Cera ("Arrested Development," "Juno," "Paper Heart")
*Julie Bowen ("Modern Family")
zzzzzzz . . .
We're giving the first round to Lopez.
If you missed the Antoine Dodson story, you'll want to watch this, then have fun trolling for all the remixes out there:
