Gilbert Presses Kaine

Virginia Del. C. Todd Gilbert (R-Shenandoah) asked a "national reformed Muslim organization" to put together some guidelines for Gov. Timothy M. Kaine (D) to consider before he replaces Dr. Esam Omeish on the Virginia Commission on Immigration.
"It is my hope that the Governor will use these guidelines proposed by a true Muslim reformer to ascertain whether his next nominee espouses not only the virtues of religious freedom, but also those of religious responsibility," Gilbert wrote in a press release.
The release says "this organization rejects the agendas of so-called "moderate" Muslims such as those in the leadership of the Muslim American Society who favor the supremacy of strict Islamic (Sharia) law over the laws and Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia."
Guidelines from the American Islamic Forum for Democracy can be found here .
