Hillary Picks Up Support From Ebbin, McClellan

Delegates Adam P. Ebbin (D-Alexandria) and Jennifer L. McClellan (D-Richmond) announced today their support for Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) in her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination.
"For decades, Hillary Clinton has been a national champion for our children's health and education," said Ebbin, the House Democratic whip. "We need someone with her proven experience and track record in Washington and Hillary has the experience and knowledge to make change happen."
Neither Ebbin nor McClellan probably carry the weight of U.S. Rep. Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-Va) and Gov. Timothy M. Kaine (D), both of whom endorsed Obama. But Ebbin and McClellan have significant ties to crucial constituencies within the Democratic Party.
Ebbin is the only openly gay member of the General Assembly. McClellan, who is also a Democratic National Committee member, is an African-American who represents heavily Democratic Richmond.
