New Voter Registration Figures Released

Nearly 350,000 people have registered to vote so far this year in Virginia, according to statistics released today by the State Board of Elections.
Combined with people who have died or moved out of state, Virginia has a net increase of 306,000 newly registered voters since the start of the year.
About 65,000 people have registered to vote since September 15, according to the statistics. As in earlier reports, people appear to be registering at the fasted clip in more Democratic-leaning areas. But the city of Lynchburg, where officials at socially conservative Liberty University are trying to register students, has also added about 3,000 new registrants in the past 15 days.
The deadline to register is Oct. 6.

Interesting . . . please do the research for us and see how many registered in 2000 and 2004. That would make this 350,000 a much more important number in comparison.
