Deeds Raises $3.4 Million

Sandhya Somashekhar

Creigh Deeds, who has spent much of his time since the June 9 primary raising money, announced today that he collected $3.4 million during the one-month fundraising period that ends June 30.

It's more than Tim Kaine and Mark Warner accumulated in a similar time period during their gubernatorial races, according to the announcement, which also touted the fact that 63 percent of the nearly $5 million Deeds has raised this year came from within Virginia.

GOP nominee Bob McDonnell's spokeswoman, Crystal Cameron, said the former attorney general's campaign would release his campaign finance numbers tomorrow. She also took a swing at Deeds for accepting support from unions.

"Creigh promised the unions that he would be a good partner, and it looks like his partners are paying him well," she said.

I've had enough of Dummycrats and their plans to "improve" Virginia. Eight years of Warner and Kaine, the absent governor, is enough.

Unions have received more bail-outs, in kind or direct funding at taxpayer expense, then under all previous presidential administrations. Time to send King Obambi a message.

Time to bring the Republicans and financial sanity back into the Commonwealth.

Creigh Deeds has done well by raising $3.4 million by the end of June and with his progressive plans for the state, Deeds is the best candidate against the conservative McDonnell. This year, the push for progress must continue because conservatism is not progress.

I'm pleased to see Deeds accomplished the most important thing he needed to do post-primary, replenish his funds. I gave him $250 and am happy to see my investment not wasted. He needs a lot more money than he raised 4 years ago, and as long as he gets it and runs as good a campaign in the summer and fall as he ran in the winter and spring, he'll pull this out even though it will be close.

Deeds is the best choice to continue what's been a very good decade of executived leadership in Virginia.

Economically speaking, VA is in far better shape than most states in this country. What in particular do you have a problem with, and how would the candidate you support fix those issues?

I'm giving you a chance to win my vote.

Cool, go Creigh. And I haven't even given him my contribution yet!
